I'm also curios, but I haven't found an answer anywhere. My guess: There won't be a "better" romance scene later on. This was just put in the game, for the people, who disliked the fact, that romance climaxes almost exclusively end up in a bed scene.
[/spoiler]
Ah, that seems to make sense.

That was rhetorical but where?
There was an editorial about it posted a few pages back.
Personally, I don't find it anymore progressive to ignore every queer character's sexuality than it's progressive to make every queer character revolve around their sexuality. There's been ten queer love interests in Dragon Age so far. Nine of those make it a complete non-issue. I think it's great to have a character who's sexuality is important, especially when it fits within the context of the narrative and when it's not the sole defining characteristic. Because sexuality is important. It's important to me and it's important to Dorian. It's part of what made me who I am and part of what made Dorian who he is. Demanding that every queer character approach it identically and nonchalantly is reductive, especially when that's already in place as the rule rather than the exception.

Can´t believe Giselle was angry about Inq relationship with Dorian
It's even funnier cause of the numbers of people the Inq is rumored to be involved with...
Why is that she hates only on Dorian so much, duh.
A big bad tevinter - must be so scaaary.

I laughed so hard. ![]()
Should I wait a bit before locking the romance for more fun? Or does it not really matter if Inq and Dorian become serious lovers so early in the game?

Now I wish I had taken Sera out on the landscape more. Her banter with Dorian is hilarious!
Can't tell you how many times I cracked up while just walking around. Sera has pretty good banter just by herself anyway, but her and Dorian play off so well :')

Because she started the rumor about herself and is jealous that the one about Dorian is taking off so much more, duh. Jealousy is a sin, Mother Giselle!

I tried to get spoiler tags...
Spoiler...
A lot of people are wondering about this and no one knows yet, it seems. We have to wait for more people's playthroughs. Don't count on me anytime soon, though. I'm taking my time, exploring every inch of this game.

I think you can do that and have sexy time later , I saw some video on Youtube.(I'm not 100% sure though so...)
Was it this one?
Because it looks like that video just mixes in both the alternate versions of the romance - one where the Inquisitor declines sex and the other one where after sex they don't commit to something more serious.
It looks like maybe choosing the "slow things down" option does count as locking in the romance and there's no love scene later.

I'm pretty sure the "Why not?" after "What is it you want from me? A relationship?" in that scene is a lock in moment. Its just that the recorder has icons and descriptions off for their dialogue wheel. It's got the same flashing corona that other crossroad choices get when the options are on.

I locked the romance.
Lookng forward to the dancing scene. Hihih. Now I just have to focus on everything else. The game is overwhelming large...
Dorian is the coolest character...ever. Together with Thane. Me thinks.
I want to do a female elf playthrough and romance Solas... But I am not sure If I am able to.
And I want to play human next time coz the animation of the elves are just...bad. The men looks like women, and they walk all hunchy.

I would have loved to have a sweet, cute scene with Dorian where he talks to your romantic interest and tells them "Hurt her and I'll CUT YOU..."
Okay, so that's not cute, but it's still sweet.

The video shows both alternate paths, yes.
It does seem like slowing things down means you just progress the romance as usual from there without a sex scene.
I'm curious about the other alternate path: saying you want to keep things fun doesn't seem like it ends things, so what happens then?

God, Dorian really is the best character I've seen in a long time. If the Cassandra character didn't exist we'd definitely be more than just bros. I'm getting all warm and fuzzy just listening to his stories about Tevinter society. Where did they find this awesome voice actor?

Yeah.
The dialogue is also slightly different to the similar conversation that occurs after the love scene.
(They both have lines about Tevinter seeing things between men as just pleasure, but in the "taking things slowly" dialogue Dorian has more about it being an actual relationship, and how he doesn't really have any examples to compare. In the top right response, the Inquisitor can say they will be the example.)
I'm mostly just interested to see if the romance arc ends here, or if there's more later in the game. I also didn't really understand when I picked the "take it slow" option that it seems to replace the actual love scene, which is... kinda disappointing? Though I suppose that's why it's there.

I should say as well, that I got the romance achievement for picking "Why not?" in the take it slowly route, and Dorian seems to be acting like we're in a romance arc in all his dialogue.
*sadly watches actual romance scene on YouTube*

Reloaded a save, tried it and it worked! Thanks!
I'm romancing him with a dwarf by the way and I like how they kept the shorter body size of the dwarves in mind, during the kissing scenes. I mean, my inquisitor is looking up to him and he is looking down on me while kissing. At least in most of the scenes. It almost looks like my character has a hard time reaching up to him sometimes. A neat detail I appreciate, when they just could have made the heads magically align, as if they both were on the same level, during the cutscenes.
On the other hand, it would have been incredibly funny and I would have fallen off my chair from laughter, if the dwarf inquisitor got himself a stool before each kissing scene.
I wonder how that plays out with Iron Bull with that kind of noticable difference in body size. The bull would have to kneel down for the kiss for sure.
Happy to help! I really dig that about the game too, they acknowledge the height difference, it's great! I've been watching some Qunari playthroughs and seeing the Inquisitor bending down to give kisses to their LI is perfect. ;v;
On a side note, I might mess around later and see if you can still have sex with Dorian even after saying "we should take it slow." As well as what comes from saying "thinking about the future." I'll post the results, depending on whether or not someone posts it before me. c:

You know what I just thought of? I'm disappointed that a human romancing him didn't get a unique dialogue about how they're basically in the same boat about their sexuality since they're both nobles and since it wouldn't be an issue for dwarves, elves, or qunari. Of course, it wouldn't be as dramatic since you're a Marcher rather than Tevinter, but it would have been nice to touch on it once. Like:
1. They don't know.
2. They don't care.
3. They don't approve.
4. I'm a younger son so it doesn't matter anyway.

Come to think of it... Is there some specific dialogue for a human at all besides that one about them being relatives? What about mage Trevelyan? Doesn't matter?
Not fair.

Well, he does talk about the Inquisitor being a mage in one of their first meetings in Haven.

I really like the layers there are to Dorian. He doesn't want to get hurt (he said he'd rather end it now (after sex) than be hurt later). But when you hear his banter with Cole, i.e Cole: "Wishing but wondering, wounded and wistful, what if he doesn’t want me after?", and convo's after the Fade main quest you know he really does care a lot.
I think it adds a lot of depth
