Come to think of it... Is there some specific dialogue for a human at all besides that one about them being relatives? What about mage Trevelyan? Doesn't matter?
Not fair.

I'm not going to lie, as much as I truly madly love Dorian-his romance content was extremely lacking. The Iron Bull got so much more content then him! I'm really annoyed at the fact his romance arc pretty much is over in the early game, and his only other scene of importance before the ending is not even romantic in nature. Sigh... He's still one my favorite characters of the game, but his content needs a serious upgrade and I hope it gets some well deserved attention in any story dlc that comes out eventually!
See, I really didn't like the Iron Bull's primary romantic content as much as Dorian (except for that one very funny scene) and I was really looking forward to it too. I don't mind the bds&m, but something felt a bit off. I think it was how Bull would only accept one role and you had to either agree or end the relationship. Dorian's romance, on the other hand, seems much more balanced. In fact, I'm not even all that thrill with Dorian/Bull, probably because while Bull seems super into it, from what I've seen so far, Dorian mostly seems uncomfortable and embarrassed by the whole thing and knowing about Bull's taste, even if he says he focuses on what the other person needs, it isn't a great state for a relationship to be, but that is just me, I am know some people love their relationship and Bull's with the Inquisitor.

Did you take him with you during Here Lies the Abyss? You get another whole cut scene about your relationship if you do. Plus his gift quest gets you two cut scenes (obtaining and giving), whereas you just have the giving with Bull. I don't really feel like Bull has that much more content, especially when the first one is exclusively about getting you to unknowingly consent to his kind of sex.
Is it very much harder to romance Dorian if you side with the templars? I know you get him later but disbanding the templars sounds more revolutionary than siding with the templars.

It will be a little harder since
I don't think it should make that much difference. You really don't get him that much earlier if you side with the mages. I spent time between getting him and Cole showing up mostly running around the Hinterlands and Storm Coast picking up enough power to start the quest where you get Cole.

I'm not very pleased about Dorian x Bull, as well. I guess that means I'll have to romance Dorian in every playthrough I make. (as if I needed any more incentive)
So I just had my first conversation with Dorian in Skyhold, and it was bugged to all hell.
But it was fine, because it just meant I got to stare at his face for a long time.
Until I was good and ready to hit X and move on. Getting stuck on my Inquisitor's face was an annoyance in comparison.

I'm planning on romancing Dorian in my next/second playthrough, so I'll be poking around here a bit! I had a question for you guys, if you don't mind.
During my first playthrough I romanced the Bull, which I loved, but felt the pacing was a little off. I felt like it might have moved more smoothly if I knew "when" to talk to him for his scenes, so I could "spread it out" across the entire playthrough, if that makes sense? I guess what I'm asking is if there is a specific/best way to romance Dorian, like when to initiate his scenes, do his companion quest, etc.? I hope this makes sense ;(

As long as you take him with you on main quests, I believe there is always some kind of scene afterwards! So isn't always kind of spread out?
I stand by my statment that the Iron Bull's romance had more content, but I do agree with others that the Dorian X Iron Bull relationship is not a good thing. I mean sure it shows more BioWare support for the LGBT community, but somehow I find it very annoying. -shrug-

Which two cutscenes do you mean here?
I haven't finished the game yet but I only got the one cutscene after giving him the amulet.
Edit:
Oh wait, you mean the cutscene where Dorian tells you he lost his amulet, and the cutscene where you give it back to him?
Just wanted to say that Dorian looks awesome in a mage battlemail outfit.

Oh, well I forgot about the one where he tells you about it. That's even more then. I mostly meant that Dorian is actually there with you when you're getting the amulet, unlike Bull where it's truly a fetch quest (just an extreme one).
Just saw the "break up" option. Can't handle it...
Srsly, it hurts like a mother, don't repeat my mistake - it's not worth it.
Oh hun...
But thanks for telling me (sorta) beforehand! I was tempted to do it just to see, but oh I can't take his eyes when they're sad. I just... just can't.
As for the "Gay orientation" thing. In a fantasy world where there aren't gay bars or any modicum of blind-screaming sexual orientation key ins, yeah he has to say it. Even today people should mention it. It's not a case of walking up to a cashier and going "Thanks for the gum, or btw, I'm gay" it just needs to happen at some point if you want to be friends with somebody, because being gay IS a part of who you are, and if that person who you want to be friends/whatever with judges you then you know they're not worth your time.
Dorian's way of going the "Gay route" is very well done, imo. It's there, but he won't tell you unless you ask (or do his quest). It's a huge part of his story, too, as the quest will tell you and it makes sense in the context of why it's mentioned. I don't think Sera even tells you unless you delve into it.
Ummm, are we playing two different games? I'm a decent ways into the game, 60 hours, and I've barely gotten anything.I'm not going to lie, as much as I truly madly love Dorian-his romance content was extremely lacking. Preach Lord Dave, preach!!Anyone else take a romanced Dorian on the
SpoilerGaider really killed it with Dorian.
Gaider knocked it out of the park this game. Dorian and Cassandra are fantastic characters. Just top notch. Easily among my favorite DA companions of all time.
Madame de Fer still holds the #1 spot, though......
I actually didn't mind watching the break-up scenes: they are just what you'd expect from Dorian, him acting like he doesn't care too much, but you can still tell he does.
anyway, do not dump him! There is no AA in Thedas!
Dorian and Cassandra banter here! ![]()
(not sure how to put the video up on here)

ah Dorian, you just gotta love him ![]()
What do you mean by breakup scene? I once initiated the breakup, but it seemed he didn't care too much and only said he's going to get drunk now or something. No cutscene or anything. Is there a lenghty, super sad cutscene later on or what?
