I do love the creepy "slide across the floor" bit at the end hahaha.

And just for fun, the amulet quest itself. Dorian apparently doesn't know if he wants it back or not.
Spoilers, obviously.

Hey Guys,
sadly I do not have time to play DA:I at the moment.
Of course that doesn't stop me from falling in love with Dorian just by looking at pictures of him ![]()
I wanted to share this with you. On the BG:EE Forum the user Flashburn and I enhanced the original
picture in the spirit of Christmas. I hope you like it. Enjoy ![]()

Note: We only added the candy cane and the santa hat.

Too bad Dorian is a default fire mage, so it's a hot glass.
Funny story: I made my Inquis a frost mage and got in a romance with Dorian. I just auto-leveled most of my companions, so he was all fire and I was all ice.
It was the perfect romance of Fire and Ice. ![]()

I have a very, very important question.
My official second playthrough (as in I plan on finally making a different character, and choices, and romance) will be a male warrior. I was planning on having him side with the templars, but I was wondering if that might impact a Dorian romance. I hadn't yet committed to the idea of the Dorian romance (I've never done a m/m romance, mostly because it never appealed to me, but Dorian is my female Inquisitor's bff, and I love him and I thought I might try out the romance). Has anyone romanced Dorian while going this route? If it adversely affects things, I might have to save him for a later playthrough. *Sigh*

If you mean just choosing the templar mission, it only means you get to recruit him later. If you mean playing an anti-mage character, then yeah, of course it would make it a little harder.

No, you are still free and clear for a romance.
I'm currently playing again and this time I sided with the Templars and gave them a full alliance. He'll disapprove, I believe. But you can still romance him. He'll show up later at Haven.

I am going to document my journey through Dorian's romance here!
So far, I've flirted with him twice, no major romance scenes yet!

I level everyone manually, but I still give Dorian fire skills. Necromancy and fire have crazy synergy together.

I sided with the Templars in the game I currently am playing, and I still had no trouble romancing Dorian. He wasn't ready to jump on me quite as quickly as the first time when I sided with the mages (you do get disapproval from him once he joins regardless of the fate you choose for the Templars), but I didn't have to go out of my way to get more approval. He's pretty easygoing on that front. He doesn't have nearly as rigid expectations of you as some of the others. Just make sure you do his fetch quest and his two War Table missions.

Oh, no. I wasn't planning on being anti-mage, but in the bio for a human (if not a mage), they talk about how you were kind of promised to the Chantry, and you can either like or dislike this fact. My Inquisitor was going to be okay with the idea. He believes in the Chantry and the Templars, but not necessarily as mage hunters, but as protectors. So he would side with the Templars; just makes sense that way.
Thank you all for your replies. You've put my mind at ease.
Dorian reminds me of a very close friend of mine, and so he's my "main" Inquisitor's best friend. He was well on his way to that from the moment they got stuck in the future and he said, "Don't worry, I'll protect you." He goes almost everywhere with her, and I love his snark.

Dorian is a bit of a playful sort, so unless you are openly hostile to him, it should be easy to gain approval regardless of most choices. He hates Tevinter stereotypes, that initial discussion about blood magic and slavery is really the only place I got disapproval, otherwise most choices resonated with him and my rogue with no problems.

I made a video of the first romance scene if anyone would be interested. I can make one of the "take it slower" option as well. It's uploaded to youtube with the other two I posted.

The way he says it!
I mean I can't explain but there's something about it , it's pretty rare someone says that to the pc , it's usually the other way around.
It really caught me by surprise , actually , and made me smile.

The line the inquisitor says to Dorian, when you recruit him, made me smile as well. I can't remember it exactly, but it was something like: "I don't know anyone else, with whom I'd rather get stranded in time." Correct me please, if I'm wrong.
It almost sounded like something the inquisitor would say to advance the romance. Recruitment phrase and romance starter in one sentence. Awesome!

If I told Dorian that we should take it slow earlier, can I ever have access to the sex scene again? Does that option ever come up again?
From what I understand, no, it doesn't happen again.

Does Dorian tell you he's leaving for Tevinter if you click him post-game? He did for me, after I asked him to stay (and he told me he would stay at the party). But if I don't speak to him at the party, after the credits he tells me he's staying in the South. His comment before leading the inquisitor upstairs is different too. It was really bugging me that he still planned to leave so I thought I'd share in case anyone else experienced this ![]()

I'm quite sure he will stay for a bit in the South before going to Tevinter.

I totally fell in love with Dorian during my playthrough. I always have a character that I take with me all the time. It was Alistair and then Varric and this time around poor Varric got totally sidelined because I like Dorian so much. I normally play female characters if I get a choice since that is what I am but I just had to play again and this time play a male just so I could romance him. The funny thing is that in real life he would totally be annoying to me but in the game he just comes across as so snarky and funny that I laugh. I will say that I have not laughed with any game as much as I have with Inquisition.

I can toss in some chocolate and get instant hot cocoa... WAIT... Dorian IS hot chocolate.
The man is a tall drink of delicious hot chocolate. All he needs is some whipped crea- hehehehehe... Ah, my mind.
