I shall watch that crisis-scene on Youtube then whenever it might be uploaded, because it is impossible for my Inquisitor to ever trigger that scene: they simply adore each other. 

Plus, Alexius working as a researcher for which I take all the credit! Yay! 

I think it's almost impossible for majority of players - because companions, despite what the devs said earlier, now can take more sh*t from pc before they'll throw a tantrum. So it's kinda hard to trigger it even if you want to - I guess you have to beat the game at least once to know what pisses them off the most.

Though it's easier with Cass, she's just... well. You know, Cass.

 

Is it bad that I changed my decision on Alexus based on Dorian's approval? I was going to make him tranquil, finding it appropriate, but I thought about it and Dorian's disapproval combined made me reconsider.

I don't think it's that bad. I personally find the most ironic punishment for him - to serve the mages here.

I don't know. I had Blacwall leave on me (just leave, I didn't get a threat to do so at all) more or less out of the blue. I only remember getting one "greatly disapproves."

I guess it depends what you did exactly... I mean, it he left because of the wardens it makes sense. Dunno. Some of them will still stick around even if they mad like hell. I remember people saying that Sera won't leave so they had to kick her out themselves. And Viv gives you her personal quest even if you treat her... like she deserves to. Kinda.  not very good to say the least. I've also never heard of Dorian leaving. 

But I'm almost sure they shouldn't do it after just one "greatly dissaproves", maybe it's a bug?

I mean, Iron Bull had a bit more of a gut than those washboard abs...

 

And Blackwall looks a little too "slim" to be... well, Blackwall, don't you think? (I mean, geez, his head is almost as waist!).

 

And don't get me started on Varric's waxed chest.

 

No complaints about Dorian, though...

 

ANYWAY, my life-drawing part of me is cringing at the lack of... parts, even though I understand it's just a nude-cheat you don't take seriously and you don't really model genitalia when they're not going to be seen anyway.

I can't upload it because I'm on PS4 and that's way too much effort right now, but here's a basic summary of his crisis dialogue:

 

It's not an actual scene, just a new option that comes up on the dialogue wheel.

 

Inquisitor: Why are you still here? You can't possibly want to stay?

 

Dorian: Why not? I have to like you in order to agree with what you're doing? It's true I think you fumble around and like a caged dragon you lash out at things you don't agree with but Corypheus is a huge asswipe and I know things and am awesome and you need my help to defeat him okay why can you not see that I am  made of win I guess it's because you're full of barbarian ignorance

 

Inquisitor (my choice, others possible): *scoffs* You really think you're some huge help against this doucher?

 

Dorian: YES, if you would let me! Corypheus is a turd-blossom and he is everything that is wrong with Tevinter and he needs to be defeated and I will do it however I can even if that means I stand on the sidelines watching because you're being a little **** but if that means nothing to you then tell me to leave

 

and then you say NO PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME I LOVE YOU or YES MOTHAFU GET OUT

 

Obviously, that is my recollection and not verbatim.

Are you saying that, once I get there, if I don't talk to him, then he says he's staying altogether, or just staying "for a while." That really bothered me about Zevran in DAO, the slide after the credits says he "stayed with the Hero of Ferelden- for a while" and I was like what? He said he was staying, not that he was going to leave my PC once he got bored or something. Either stay-stay, like you said you would, or say to the PC that you're not planning on staying and give my character a chance to tell him he'd go with him and help try to change things. Something, you know?

 

If you trigger the party convo (the one where he tells you he's staying "for now"), then post-credits he says "It will be difficult to return to Tevinter after all this. And leaving you? Most difficult of all. I'd almost rather let the Imperium rot. Such is my lot. Just a little longer then".

 

If you don't speak to him at the party, you get a cute dialogue where he says to himself "He'll come speak to you eventually Dorian. He has so much on his mind". Then post-credits he and the Inquisitor have this exchange:

 

Dorian: Staying in the South could prove interesting. One's always warmest next to the fire.

Inquisitor: That's the only reason you stayed?

Dorian: Not the only reason.

 

Maybe it's just a quirk of my particular playthrough but it seems a bit backwards to me.

Am I going to have to be the person who brings up the fact that Bull's doll bulge is awfully small compared to everyone else? Because I'll do it.

Ridiculous that they'd do that *again* with my romance option, but whatevs. I like my happy endings, so that will work for me and I can blissfully believe they stayed together, or that my boy opted to go with him (especially my Qunari mage who would love to break some Tevinter magisters!).

Roughly, this is how the convo went.

 

Iq: So you're not going?

Dorian: There's no you in Tevinter.

 

And at the balcony.

 

Iq: And the other?

Dorian: I can't wait for this to end.

 

Both of those told me that he's pretty much sticking around for awhile, if not permanently. Granted, both you and Dorian have power and influence under their belts, and romance in those situations is hard. The typical household rarely exists in powerful families.

That's exactly what I thought. They didn't bother modeling any dangly bits, because they were going to hide them with good camera angle placement anyway. Perhaps that'll be the the next step in the next Dragon Age game. Unless a talented modder comes up with something way before that, which is my guess.

 

I was also a bit surprised about the serious lack of chest or body hair in general on dwarves (besides Varric of course) during the bed scene. The camera pans over to the bearded dwarf on the bed and... "Oh. I wasn't aware, that all dwarves strip themselves from every single hair on their body, before they date someone. Now that looks odd..." O_o

I know what you mean. It's quite odd to look at other people's characters interacting with Dorian, when in your headcanon only your Inquisitor is romancing him at the moment.
I just love the body height difference, when the Inquisitor is a dwarf. It somehow undermines Dorian's statement of protecting the Inquisitor, in a sense of a taller person protecting a shorter one, due to physical capabilities, although it might not be necessary at all. Don't know. I just think it's cool somehow.

I was hoping to get a "famed Dwarven resistance to magic" joke:

Dorian: Well that was somewhat underwhelming.

Cadash: What was?

Dorian: The two of us. The whole "Dwarven resistance to magic". (sighs) What a wasted opportunity.

I was surprised how easy it was to get along with everyone this time.

I mean usually my DA experience ends in big drama when it comes to companions and LIs , they tend to die.

I was actually giggling nervously playing the first time because Dorian bring up the "Well there's a huge chance we're going to die."

 

 

At the end when he burst "we didn't die" and later he says he would have been thematically appropriate , I was thinking "Oh you have no idea..."

High five , Happy Dance , Dorian didn't die.

Yeah, I feel like the dwarf would take the more... dominant position in the relationship, but he doesn't so he creates this anti-stereotypical dynamic. 

 

The dance is adorable, though.
