So the past few days I've been headcanoning the Inquisitor hooking up with Hawke a ton. Not sure why(maybe a little narcissism? :P)

Kinda curious how Dorian would fit into that. I'd imagine early relationship he'd be down but when things got serious I'm not really sure. Also my Hawke was with and had to kill Anders so he's extra angsty. Maybe that's part of why I really like that pair. Heh.

Just curious about opinions.

Actually, I was recently thinking that Dorian and Justice-less Anders probably would have been perfect together.

I've never gotten Dorian to comment on any specialisations I've done... and that's been as a mage. xD Shame. Wonder what he says to necromancy.

Also the video's golden, very smooth indeed.

I only saw him comment on the assassin spec. I think just some companions comment on each spec but I might be wrong.

Has anyone walked out on his father instead of having them talk? I'm wondering if that has any noticeable results on his outlook/dialogue throughout the rest of the game.

I encouraged them to speak the first time but I can see me current Inquisitor being all "screw this motherfu"

My Qunari rogue said "let's get you out of here" and they left, leaving his father looking utterly heart broken. His dialogue just says something like "maybe things would have been different" and that's it. I don't know if it comes up again later in the game, though.

That choice makes me feel terrible, but that particular Inquisitor was feeling super protective of Dorian and felt he was just too upset for it to be worth staying. My other two told him to have a chat with his dad, and I personally like that outcome better.

The two scenes afterwards don't really change except for the first few sentences.

Danaduchy just did a video on all the different variations of that scene on youtube.

He sounds much more optimistic if he stays, in my opinion. I'll probably always encourage him to stay. What his father did was awful and inexcusable, and it's not something anyone can wave their hands and fix because it will always be a chasm between them, but if someone is genuinely trying to make amends you ought to at least hear them out. The whole cutting people out of your life thing that some people recommend ought to be a last resort. It's not healthy to carry around all that negativity.

I want to love Dorian.  Annoyed we get a gay stereotype, he's bitchy, beautiful, and loves drinking.  He has some moments, but the party banter I've heard has all involved alcohol and pettiness.  Please tell me there is more.

I know this has been asked and answered but I can't find it. I know I'm supposed to talk to Mother Giselle to get the Last Resort of Good Men, but I can't find her anywhere. I've already finished One Less Venatori, but I don't know if that matters. How do I get that quest, and did I glitch it by getting the Venatori one first?

Normally, Giselle stays at the garden. But when she gives you Dorian's quest, she'll stay in front of the main door of the main building, next to the altar. An exclamation quest sign will appear in the map. She appeared to me after doing 2 war table quests related to Dorian.

Damn, I just realized that Dorian's personality matches my Inquisitor's closer than any of the other companions.  I guess they really are related.

There's definitely much more but, yeah, the bitchiness and alcohol are prominent.  I love him to pieces, but he's a bit of a Chelsea Queen and I could do without that in the future.  I think in "real life", Dorian wouldn't be my cup of tea.  Similar to Vivienne.  In game, I adore her.  In real life, I'd likely loathe her.

"I knew there was a reason we looked so much alike."
Says Dorian to my bonde haired, blue eyed, fair skinned Trevelyan.
Well, we share a gender at least.

IMO, the Dorian was created in a very clever way to mirror how real life gay men are used to shield their ulterior feelings and needs using sassy, witty, party-boy behavior.

I think it is also important to say "Corypheus must be stopped"  when you are made Inquisitor, considering Dorian aproves that a lot. Besides, just in case, I only talked about Alexius with Dorian after I had romanced him.

Funny thing is, when I first heard of his drinking, cards, and partying ways, I didn't think gay man stereotype so much as rich kid stereotype since all of those things fit that as well.

Okay, maybe I'm the only one but I'm actually quite disappointed with the romance. no dating scene at all. He only talked in the library with me (beside the "sex scene" in my chamber). And his personal quest was so short compared to the quest of some other companions/advisors.... oh, and he doesn't talk to me any longer. I always have to complete a lot of missions till he starts the next conversation... I'm so sad right now...can't even persuade myself to finish the game.

In dragon age, there usually isn't a dating scene (I am trying to think of one in DAO and DA2 and unless the ladies had one, I don't think any of the men did) and if you think about it, his recruitment quest can be one of the longest in the game.

You can visit solas in a dream, you can go with cullen outside of skyhold to a lake (a friend of mine, who played the Cullen romance told me this. He makes you a gift) you can stand with josephine in val royeaux at the see and chat with her, and you can talk to her on the balcony, you can go through the castle with sera and have fun together while mocking the advisors...at least there are some changes of scenes with some of the other characters. with dorian it's always the same: library, library, library x_x it's so boring....sorry, just my oppinion. I'm happy lots of people like his romance. But I can't bring myself to be happy with it...

See, I didn't know that (but I am also content with the library, mostly because Dorian is one of...four companions who show up constantly in my game, everyone else doesn't particularly Cole). Though the way I also see it, I give the adviser romances a break because they don't get the same level of interaction that you get with the companions and Solas visits everyone in a dream I thought. I know he visits me. Anyway, I can understand getting bored with the library, but it didn't bother me (especially since he is always popping up elsewhere during other companions' scenes).
