Pretty high quality mustache-less edit.

Spoiler

I wasn't a fan of it at first, but now I'm pretty fond of the stache and his face looks so odd to me without it.

He looks a lot younger without it, though. More evidence that he's definitely under thirty, in my opinion.

He's actually quite attractive without it - more than I thought he would be. I'm not one for facial hair other than stubble, so Dorian was a first for me, lol. I think I might uh, save those pics. Thanks for posting them!

I only got one banter (from Cassandra) alluding to Dorian and Inquisitor's romance. I really would like to see the others, mainly from Cole. Do those banters only happen right after the romance is triggered (and no more afterwards)?

Sera also has a bit about his relationship with the inq. And I love how non-phased he is about it, quite happy to reply in his usual cheecky maner actually ^_^ . Just like with Blackwall. And totally unlike when the companions tease him about his relationship* with Bull. But that's a different story. Anyway, you can listen to the banter here:

https://www.youtube....k-ANK287v96ShOx

:)

Speaking of banter just remembered some of his banter with Cole... "Dorian: The wooden duck on my bed... <_< was that you Cole? Cole: Noo... I'm not a wooden duck...  "... haha

Aww, he's beautiful :)

I do like him more without the stache... but that's because I mostly prefer only a shadow at most in terms of facial hair on my guys  ^_^

But I get that probably a lot of people like him as a full package, stache included :)

Oh and about banter, I love how Dorian is probably the only one (maybe I'm wrong, not sure) that manages to get a rise out of Varric... lol. When he asks him about Cassandra...

Oh my

I've gotten attached to his stache as well but damn is he still looking good and younger without it. If this becomes a mod I'll check it out just for something different.

IMO, he's one of those that needs the mustache - he looks much plainer without it. That curly mustache may look way over the top on someone else, but on him it's perfect.

And I'm also slightly annoyed that in some of the cutscenes, it looks like they lightened his skin colour. He's much darker in normal gaming mode.

Yeah, they're really inconsistent with his skin tone. (And I'm still not over the grey eyes). I know they like to cry lighting issues when it comes to POC characters, but I don't remember seeing nearly as much variance with Vivienne's skin tone.

I thought Dorian was early thirties...but I can't remember where I saw that. Has anyone tweeted Gaider or the other devs and asked for the ages of everyone? Seems someone should have by now.

It's just that lighting sucks in this game, generally. I want to cry half of the time I look at my pc because he looks so damn ugly with his blonde hair and pale skin, especially in the begining of the game (because it's too bright and there's snow everywhere). And half of the time I look at him and think damn, he's pretty handsome.

It's very complicated. xD

Nope. Dorian's one of the only ones with no word of god about his age.

We have twitter answers for most characters by now. In fact, I think we only don't have an answer for Cass, Dorian and Vivienne.

And I thought his eyes were green...or a hazel color. Half the time they look like various shades of both. Now they are grey?

The stache was off-putting to me at first, but it's totally grown on me now (no pun intended). At this point, Dorian without mustache = Varric without chest hair tbh, just immoral./

But yeah, the shave does at least confirm that he's pretty young. While other people were guessing he was in his mid-20s, I thought early 30s until now. Slightly OT, but when I had a little mustache/beard thing going on people frequently mistook me for being in my late 20s, while being clean shaven I actually got carded buying Dragon Age: Inquisition the other day

With Cass we at least have an age range from the time line. Nothing on Dorian or Vivienne, though.

They were originally hazel in the promo material, but in the game I definitely see grey. One of the devs tweeted a picture of his eye right before the release and said guess who. I'm still bitter. Almost everyone has grey eyes this time and I think it really washes out his face. The hazel suited him a lot better. (And was more accurate for a South Asian character.)

Yeah, facial hair tends to be interpreted as older. I think mid to late 20's makes the most sense with what we know about him. Early 30's is a bit old to be a student who's on just being pressured about settling down and making an heir.

He definitely is and probably not.

Normally, I'm a chin/jaw sort of guy when it comes to favored facial features, but I'm just so into his nose.

John Epler and David Gaider have indicated Dorian's closest real world analogue is Indian, and when I look at him in normal gaming mode and certain cutscenes, he does look Indian (the Ramon Tikaram tie-in helps, too). I live in an area where there are a lot of people of Indian descent, and he could fit in with them. However, in other instances Dorian looks very different, and this is something I've noticed in regards to some of the other characters too, but it's especially noticeable with Dorian and my PC (I feel your pain, Vita Brevis!). Sometimes I'm like, meh, when I see my PC and other times it's like, wow...beautiful. :P

I've read that they had trouble with rendering Isabela's skin tone in DA2 under that game's engine, but DA:I runs under a completely different engine, so it would be quite unfortunate if they're still having the same problem with all that newfound technology.

Some people are so petty, nit picking at everything. How about you focus on the positives and be grateful we are finally getting some good representation in video games. Or just because it wasn't done exactly to your liking, the character should be scrapped and we can go back to having no gay characters at all?

I for one am just happy that there is finally an awesome 100% gay male as a main character in a game of this scope.

I think Dorian's character is well written and clever. I think his personal quest is handled well and is actually quite true to life in terms of the themes and emotions.

Very well done Bioware. Dorian is my favourite character of pretty much all time :)

He is a massive hottie! xD

Dorian sans mustache is... wowza. I'd totally hit that! He is still very striking, but I do agree that the 'stache does add remarkably to his appearance, and I don't care for facial hair.

I was thinking on my way to work the way he approaches the relationship with the Inquisitor. He is very insecure, I think. At first, he's all hopeful but cautious, almost tip-toeing and mentally prepared to hear a resounding "no". Yet, when you tell him yes, he'll eventually say "ask me when we're done with this (Cory business)." I don't recall exactly where that conversation is, but it stood out to me. I think he's still preparing himself for a break up, and putting the ball into his court as a defense mechanism. He's asked in the Inquisitor is interested, gotten his yes, but still he's holding back "just in case." My rogue was like "Really? We went through this already, you daft mage, and now you're acting like you're not sure?"

Maybe I think too much.
