A thousand times "yes" to all that! lol!!  Fenris is my canon romance. I've always play it out that after his night with Fenris he would sleep with Anders or almost sleeps with him. If I sleep with him I just reload to keep the romance with Fenris going.

Spoiler

I was actually surprised at how good looking Hawke is when you just remove the ugly hair and hobo beard. I'm actually kinda shipping him with my Quizzy. lol!

Spoiler

@Shandyr, I hope so because I think I just screw up before anything got started.  I sided with the Temps and made them full allies like I did in my last playthrough so I began talking to Dorian when I get him to skyhold. Perhaps I talked to him too much before doing his War table missions and Venatori quest because I got the "Lashing out like a caged Dragon" speech and the option to kick him out the Inquisition. lol!!

I don't even know what I did!

I'm hoping I can win him back. I haven't flirted with him at all in this play through cause I wanted to save it for later but I sort of wonder if that was a mistake.

I had an amusing encounter in DA2 concerning those two. Hawke and Fenris had their night of hot passion, then Fenris bailed out, leaving my boy really confused. Then up shows Anders, all chatty and flirty. Anders says he saw Fenris leave and asks about it, Hawke's was kinda noncommittal, and then Anders says something like "good, you don't need that dog anyway."

So, Hawke bites his head off and tells him don't you dare talk about Fenris like that, and Anders gets offended and angry, whines about it all, and storms off. Party banter goes on about Fenris leaving and it being the hardest thing he'd ever done. I assume the romance is finished because of that (it's the banter I always got if I did go to Anders after Fenris). But come Act 3, Fenris admits that he was an idiot and can Hawke forgive him.

Something about Anders getting shot down for Fenris and how enraged he gets over it is absolutely hysterical.

Am I the only Dorian addict that was an Anders romancer? Haha. Fenris was just always way too negative about everything for me to consider him. Anyway, while we're on the Fenris (and Anders, I guess) subject, I have to say that I'm so glad they didn't make any of the companions complete, mortal enemies this time. It made both of them insufferable and rather unlikeable. I'm glad they didn't make that mistake again.

I actually like Anders, and romanced him a couple times. I just like burrowing into Fenris' shell. Their sniping was always fun though. Put Merril in a group with them, as I did on a very few occasions, and oh boy....

But yes, it is nice not having my friends absolutely despise each other. It was amusing for that game, but it'd get tedious if they did it each time. The arguing now seems more good natured, and they generally start to get along as things progress (so it seems, at least, with my current party- Blackwall, Cole, and Dorian have very little negativity with each other).

I am an Anders romancer. I also found Fenris way too negative for my taste and while I understand why he was so broody all the time, that didn't mean I enjoyed spending too much time with him (I also found Anders a bit grating in Act 3, but less than Fenris). I was also really glad they didn't make any of the characters hate each other quite as much an DA2, it just wasn't fun to spend time with them when they are that intense in their hate to the point of unpleasant nastiness.

Nah I'm an Anders romancer too. I only romanced Fenris on one playthrough to see what it was like. As a mage rivalmance it's very rewarding in my opinion.

Fenris makes a 180 degree turn and becomes so devoted to Hawke and defends him and the mages whereas he starts out hating mages.

I found that character developement really well done.

Actually that was my main party for my first playthrough. I almost exclusively played with them from one point on.

At the start Dorian and Blackwall didn't get along at all... Takes a while for them to become less hostile to each other.

In the end they declared a truce and Blackwall even offered friendship. That took very long though.

I did a mage friendmance with Fenris (and did a rival with, I think it was my rogue). I do like the dynamic of how he comes around, and when you talk about your shortcomings, Hawke's like "well, I'm a mage." And Fenris makes it clear he's okay with that. I'm not fond of his rival path because, as I recall, he rebuffs being taught to read, and that just makes me so sad :(

Maybe Blackwall and Dorian are just a lot more subdued after DA2? XD Dorian likes talking to Cole a lot though, so maybe I am just getting that more.

I prefer the friendship path with Fenris as well. He really is someone who needs a friend and I like the growth that comes from being his friend as a Mage. I also enjoy Cole's and Dorian's banter, especially since for as confused Dorian is with Cole at time, he is one of the few companions who is friendly towards Cole.

lol!! I love that! I've always pictured an obsessed Anders raging big time when he's alone after getting turned down.  It also helps that he'll try to confront you about Fenris again before doing his personal quest.  Rage on Anders, rage on.

@Wanderlust, I think that could be it. I met him at the Chantry then went back and picked the Templars. lol! I managed to get back in his good graces by killing the Venatori with him and being nice to him. Then I ended up triggering his personal quest and flirted with him just when I wanted to. Romance is on! :D  I was scared for a bit though.

Another good way is telling Anders he simply was not good in bed. That really leads to a barrel of laughs.

Yep, that did it. It is good to know that just doing those venatori quests and being nice can improve relations enough to start the romance. Did you do any of the other major plot quests?

Nope, after getting to skyhold I just talked to Dorian and companions, did some war table stuff, then killed some Venatori with Dorian then talked to him some more and Mother Giselle was waiting for me with his personal quest. I always sort of keep Hawke, Varric, and Celene waiting a bit when I reach Skyhold.

@Mr. House, that was so mean...but so funny. My Hawke would rather eat sandwiches than hear Anders talk.

Afterwards I felt bad for not feeling bad when I did that. Also, Anders trying to convey his romantic feelings while Hawke's like "...I could use a sandwich right now."

Am I the only one who wants to see Dorian meet Fenris?

"I'd tread carefully Sparkler, he'll tear your heart out."

"Don't worry Varric, I'm used to disappointment."

"No I mean he'll *literally* tear your heart out. I've seen him do it."

"Kinky."

As long as I can keep a barrier, wall of fire, and Blackwall between the two of them, then yeah, I would love to see them meet.

I like Fenris, but I like Dorian being alive and intact even more. Keep them away from one another, please.

I actually romance Anders and I still always pick he sandwich line. It really highlights how ridiculously over-dramatic Anders gets about romance. The laying awake at night aching for you line still gives me a cringe attack. Totally ridiculous. I think that's why I love Dorian's general refusal to be sincere.

Hi Dorian thread!

So I am a bit of a sap when it comes to Dorian X Cullen and I found this before and it made me give my laptop moony eyes while I "awww'd". Sorry if it has already been posted!

Warning for slight NSFW.

While I'm not a fan of the pairing, the art is amazing. Dorian's bedhead... Maker, have mercy on me.

Aww, that is sweet, thanks for the picture. I actually have a little soft spot for the pairing (both them as just friends and them as a little bit more)

From what I understand you really can't rivalmance people in this game, in order to start a romance the approval has to be high enough to get certain things triggered. You can start a romance and then lower approval, but that really equals the character being ready to break up with you at any moment. There is a video that shows the crisis moment for Dorian in a romance and it is pretty sad actually. I would get it for you, but I am on my phone at the moment

Does anyone have a link to mentioned video? I haven't seen this and I can't seem to locate it on youtube.

that part seems obvious now that I asked! Is there a different name for Tevinter language or is it the same as the country?
