So what did Felix die of, anyway? I kept listening to find out, but I either missed it or they neglected to say.

I suspected that he'd contracted the blight somehow. Like, what else could make someone so desperate as to turn to a Darkspawn for help?

If you talk to Dorian after Felix dies (more specifically it's after the Mages quest I think. I could be wrong though, I don't remember exactly which quest it was after) he tells you what Felix was suffering from. And yes, like someone mentioned already, it was indeed the Blight.

I am having a very hard time choosing between Dorian or Kaidan (ME) as my all time favourite gay romance option. They are both awesome! Decisions decisions.......

I have yet to do Iron Bull so can't include him yet. I did like Zevran and Anders...and once I modded Fenris to be muscular and not anorexic, I did like his romance too. Also I still need to get around to trying Steve Cortez, he looks like he could be good.

But seriously Dorian and Kaidan are my favourites so far, can't decide between them! Love your work Bioware :D

Agreed  ^_^

For me it's Kaidan, only because in terms of personality and looks he fits "my type" the best haha, but I love Dorian too. And Zevran, Anders, Fenris...  :D

Ye I gotta respect Bioware for giving us gay/bi dudes so many options in their games. I was thinking of the list we have available to us in the DA and ME universes, and I was really impressed. Dorian is some of their finest work :)

I gotta pick Kaidan. Bacon, Beef, and Beer.

I love Dorian too but Kaidan is more down to earth so I feel like I would be able to relax more.

Dorian and Kaidan are also my top two, easily, with Anders as a distant third. Right now, I think I'd give Dorian the edge, but that might just be because he's the most recent. I'll have to reevaluate after the next time I play ME3.

There is a whole number of things that you have to do to get that, but I don't think not allying with the elves will get the crisis conversation if you have a mostly positive relationship with him. Somethings that will really lower his approval is

Spoiler

Yikes, that was gonna be my playthrough minus being a jerk to him of course...

may or may not have replayed this scene a few times today.

Spoiler

And to think the first time I saw Dorian all I could think was Oh Maker that mustache....nope nope. But now I can't get enough of this beautiful specimen of a man.

Character images prior to launch I noped him right off my list because of that crazy stash. Now I wish my hubby could grow one...little baby oil on there for that twirl and we're set!

Could someone let me know what triggers Dorian's second personal quest? (Or third, I guess.) I did manage to finally get Mother Giselle with the letter and completed that one, as well as One Less Venatori. I've finished Adamant and the Winter Palace, and Dorian has nothing to say except things like, "You're really interested in my opinion, aren't you?" And I'm like, "Yes! Tell me about the amulet!" but he sadly doesn't respond to me talking to the monitor. So, I'm just wondering if I've missed something or if this is also glitch like his first quest.

He won't give it to you. If you are in a relationship with him, with high enough approval as you go up to see him from Solas, a messager will be there and you will get a letter from Lelianna, telling of the argument. Then you can go talk to him about it. I haven't heard of this one being bugged, but it could be.

Yeah, that would be the issue. That quest is for the completion of his romance only, so ladies never have the chance to get it

I have a doubt concerning Dorian's fear in the Fade.

His grave says Temptation is what he fears the most.

Now, we all know that Dorian tends to give in to one sort of temptation: relationships with males and the fear of being rejected.

But when the Fear Demon tries to frighten him, he mentions another kind of fear: of Dorian becoming like his father.

So, can I assume that Dorian's greatest fear is the temptation of embracing the life his father had originally planned for him, the life of a Magister and a Scion of House Pavus (instead of rebelling against that corrupt archaic system), not the temptation of falling in love with males and fearing rejection?

Remember, we do ask him after the Fade if he doesn't feel tempted to use our power to enter it physically, a feat that impresses him above all else in spite of his warnings against doing it again...

I thought the fear was giving into using blood magic and excesses of Tevinter. I don't think they ever meant to imply falling in love with a man was his temptation, especially since he wants that, it wouldn't be a fear of his.

If the Inquisitor chooses to drink from the Well of Sorrows how Dorian reacts? What's your opinion on the matter (drinking or not drinking)?

I think, if you drink from it and are not in a relationship with him you'll get some disapproval, but if you are he'll greatly disapprove. Though I am not entirely certain.

He disapproves, if you are dating him, I think it may be greatly disapproves. I didn't drink it, the way I saw it, I didn't know what it did and as the leader of the Inquisition/only person who can closes rifts, if something happened to me, everything could be ruin. I was better off letting Morrigan drink it and deal with her later if she betrays us.

Well at the Temple this happens:

IIRC doesn't disapprove if you're not romancing him.

Regarding the "Dorian's greatest fear" issue - there was some talk of it back on...*checks* page 644 of this thread. Short version: what happened to his father and Alexius - both basically decent men (up to a point) who didn't fit the "Evil Tevinter Magister" stereotype - has probably resulted in Dorian being all too aware that even the best of men will find ways to justify a short cut or their own personal miracle. He knows that he's not immune simply because he's an idealist.

And Dorian's inherent curiosity and thirst for knowledge could lead him into trouble without his realising it: you can do the wrong thing for the right reasons.Think of what happened to Anders, where he thought he was doing his friend a favour, but had reckoned without the boatload of personal desires and issues he'd managed to keep a lid on until he let Justice possess him. Dorian's not quite as trusting, but he is nosy - and knowledge is power when you're a mage. He could try something just to satisfy his curiosity and see if it works - and it could all go horribly wrong.

Yeah, I always interpreted it as the temptation to turn into the sort of Tevinter mage he hates. He witnessed both his father and his mentor fall to that specific temptation.

I plan on drinking it in this 2nd pt since I let morrigan have at it before. Hopefully I can do lots and lots to get his approval beforehand so I don't loose him.

Is he "fun" to bring to the fade? I brough varric, bull and sera the first time and now think solas, cole and dorian? Suggestions?

I'd say it doesn't really matter, though naturally all mages find it exiting. I brought Solas and Dorian and it was quite interesting. I guess I'll bring Vivienne and Cole next time, wonder what the demon will say about Viv.

Regret bringing Varric, it was dull. And he doesn't even talk to Hawke there, so it was a waste.

If he has high approval, I doubt that you will lose him and yeah, he is interesting in the fade. I actually found him pretty chatty there and in Adament.

Awesome. I heard cole is really distraught from being in there so I didnt bring him my first pt, poor kid. Varric was meh there. And I brought cassandra when I went to go meet warden friend for the first time and no comment about the infamous Hawke she's been chasing for a year?! Few missed opportunities here and there :-/

Edit: Dorian on top!
