I guilt-tripped him into staying, my Inquisitor being the little **** he is.

Spoiler
:')))) kill me now

I did the same. However, he does say "I will stay...for now. Because there is no you in Tevinter".

If they make another DA game with the Inq as protagonist, this might be BW "way out" for not bringing Inq LI/Dorian in the party? Coz if there is another game with Inq, I am pretty sure not all of the LI will companions.

So what colors did you all use when it came time to make Dorian new armor? I found myself putting him in red or green when he was not in his classic white.

I made him one last night with blue armor, gold trim, and silver highlights on the boots and gauntlets. I know it sounds hideous, but Dorian was looking hella fine, even more so than usual.

I actually think it's the opposite, that they want a way out for possibly bringing Dorian back for DA4 with a different protagonist. They've said they want to go north and out of everyone Dorian's the one who's telling you he'll be heading north eventually.

That'd be so awesome, though at this point I'm pretty good at keeping my hopes ground level

But BWs track record has always favoured male gamers (Leliana, Morrigan, Isabella) and whose superfangirls (Cullen). I dont think they will prioritize a gay LI interest? I do hope so, but considering the size of fan base for Dorian, I dont think its likely.

But I hope you are right. :)

Hah I finally finished my Dorian romance play and saw this. Dorian is so adorable, I loved that my Quis simply smiled when he said this.

I don't think it's set in stone or a guarantee, but I do think it's something that's been at least discussed. No one else has as much set up for being where they've said they want to go next.

And actually, the crossover companion has always been more of a male buddy type. (Oghren, Anders, Varric.) Regardless of his sexual orientation, Dorian fills that role for a lot of people this time, at least based on what I've read here and on Reddit.

I keep wondering what it would be like if Dorian and Fenris met...

Regarding the "Dorian's greatest fear" issue - there was some talk of it back on...*checks* page 644 of this thread. Short version: what happened to his father and Alexius - both basically decent men (up to a point) who didn't fit the "Evil Tevinter Magister" stereotype - has probably resulted in Dorian being all too aware that even the best of men will find ways to justify a short cut or their own personal miracle. He knows that he's not immune simply because he's an idealist.

And Dorian's inherent curiosity and thirst for knowledge could lead him into trouble without his realising it: you can do the wrong thing for the right reasons.Think of what happened to Anders, where he thought he was doing his friend a favour, but had reckoned without the boatload of personal desires and issues he'd managed to keep a lid on until he let Justice possess him. Dorian's not quite as trusting, but he is nosy - and knowledge is power when you're a mage. He could try something just to satisfy his curiosity and see if it works - and it could all go horribly wrong.

Very true! Good intentions without caution or knowledge of where danger lies can lead to disastrous results. Indeed, there's a strong parallel between Anders's relationship with Justice and Dorian's thirst for magical knowledge and the desire to fight independently for change in the Imperium.

I like how you drew that comparison. Both are mages who fought for change using unconventional means to fight against an archaic/old system or institution.

I have been thinking the same. Fenris would probably try to kill Dorian before Dorian even opened his mouth. I can imagine ghd Inquisitioner just standing there thinking "what the....?!" and Hawke desperatly trying to stop Fenris.

I wonder who would win. Fenris or Dorian?

I will be staring my third play through and want to go the Templar route as in I want to do Champions of the Just instead of In Hushed Whispers , so how do I but have Dorian not hate me ? lol I still wanna romance him but I have read the Templar mission is something to be seen and Dorians entrance is awesome . Even if you go that route, it's not exactly hard to get him to like you. No worries.

I don't think my inquisitor would be standing around if he saw a glowy angry elf lunging for Dorian. Full out 2v2 brawl, who would you cheer for?

My loyalties would be so divided....

Sword&board warrior Hawke desperately clutching at Fenris asking him to calm the **** down for a minute, Knight-Enchanter Dalish boy throwing up a barrier and getting all protective and "bring it." I don't think my Dalish would get along with Fenris well at the start, but could eventually come to a grudging respect. My Hawke is of the snarky flavor and could probably diffuse the situation once people stopped lunging at each other.

I think I might lean slightly to Fenris. Isn't he basically based on the arcane warrior tree? He's got magic and martial prowess, whether he likes it or not. I think Dorian would be hard pressed to defend against him.
