I agree, the outcry of sexism would flood the forum before BW even knew what to do.  lol!!  When it's two men it's harmless teasing and  the one expressing any sort of discomfort must pull up his big boy pants. Why can't the one doing the teasing just shut up? Apparently that's an irrational request. :o

I just saw this. Personally, I think that's a big part of it and why Bull disrespecting Dorian is "just teasing." I brought up in the actual thread, and of course everyone ignored it, that if it was Bull/Cassandra and he told her "quiet woman, men are talking" rather than topping from the bottom, I doubt people would respond the same way.

That just figures, most of our arguments were being dismissed as Bull haters who don't understand the lifestyle. At this point, I wish there was an ignore thread button so I could avoid the temptation of going there. It does nothing but upset people.

I had to click on my own user name at the very top of the page and in the pop up menu you'll find "Manage Ignore Prefs" Then copy and paste the user name of the person you want to ignore in the line and save it.

I swear this forum needs an ignore button to make it much easier.

Thanks! That's just bizarre O-o Why would they not just have a button.

Dunno if this has been posted

Well, you did feel the need to bring the conversation in here. To my knowledge, no one has butt in about it in the Bull thread.

Believe me, I did think twice before responding.  I just felt like IB fans in general were being unjustly attacked here with assumptions that all we're doing there is bashing "the other side" (well, some of that went on, but it was over with quickly and we've moved past it) and wanted to clear up any misunderstanding.  It wasn't my intention to start anything here.

Anyway!  Back to our regularly scheduled Dorian.

On my first playthrough I couldn't decide whom I'll romancing. It ends with Josephine, which was a cute romance. But now, with my current playthrough, I finally choose Dorian. And I haven't regret it 'til now. I think he and my elf made a nice couple.

Spoiler

I love the party banter, and the scene with him after Adamant. So cute. My next main quest will be "Wicked eyes". So looking forward to the dancing scene. ;)

Finished my first play through last night.  And, Dorian I think you are boring and I hate you too...in fact, I hate you so much I'm making myself play as a woman just so I don't romance you again...and again...and again!!!  What a wonderful story!  I was bad and sort of rushed through my play through - but the I swear the mission was taunting me from the war table...called me chicken, even! lol  I am so happy I have the image of Dorian and Matteo on the balcony burned forever in my mind.  Thank you BioWare, and David Gaider especially, for creating such a fascinating character...(what is it about me and men from Tevinter - first Fenris and now Dorian - sighs)

I have two female elves queued up for Solas and Cullen and... yeah, it's probably going to be a while.

@d4eaming, Oh yeah I'm thinking of playing a female elf for the first time. Never done it in DA at all. If I do I'm planning on romancing Cullen or Solas too.....But Doooorian!  :(  It's gonna be so hard not loading a starting save with one of my Males and romancing him all over again.  Guess who won't get recruited for that play through lol!

My one female so far romanced Josephine. That was one massive downgrade. I really like Josephine as a character, but that romance was awfully passionless. Next time I play a female, I'll probably break my "no hetero" rule and try Cullen instead.

Lol a debate about the definition of bisexual got the Dorian/Bull thread closed. I really don't understand the mods sometimes.

About time, that thread brought nothing but trouble. Though really, the definition of bisexuality is more of a problem than some of the other things that were said there?

Oh well

Yeah, the Cullen romance seems pretty good. I will probably get to that one as well...>>...if I could convince myself to stop making males to romance Dorian and get over the way women run in this game.

I'm torn for my solo female playthrough.  She's a dwarf, so that puts Cullen and Solas out.  I've already romanced Bull with my other (male) dwarf.  So that really leaves Josephine, Sera, and Blackwall for her.  I was leaning towards Josephine because I'm in love with the idea of a dwarf gal dueling for the honor of her Antivan noblewoman lover.  But if it's a dud, I might suck it up and go for Sera.  She's annoying but at least she's interesting.

My current playthrough is a recreation of my original playthrough (now my canon) that I did on the 360.  That means that my qunari warrior (and I) get to see Dorian's spectacular backside in current gen glory soon enough.  I'm actually doing the Redcliffe quest right now and he just said, "Don't worry.  I'll protect you!"  <swooning at that cocky bastard>

I hope the dev's at least got the message that many people think the Dorian/Iron Bull romance was handled the wrong way.

The fact that you're talking about it means they handled it perfectly fine.

I think that's one of my favorite lines. I could see my rogue just smirking over it.

Though, Dorian is right fit, so it comes across very smoothly. I could believe it, over some waifish thing the way D&D seemed to always portray magic users. Why can't my wizard learn how to use a weapon? I'm gonna run out of spells, anyway. But no, that's forbidden.

One of my Wardens was an elf circle mage who specced into Arcane Warrior. That was fun. And OP. He was such a badass.

What kind of logic is that?  I can talk about anything, doesn't mean it was worth the space in the universe it takes up.

You usually talk about worthless (?) things? Rational people just ignore them.

If they indeed added what you think it is an abusive relationship that you're interested enough on to spend your time discussing then they've already succeeded, it is also a pretty unexplored thing on videogames, and innovation is usually a plus.

I know what you mean - mage and archer are my two hardest classes to play, I love to be in the middle of the fight. Arcane Warrior was the best!

I made a really cute female elf this time...she's meant for Sera (she won me over during my play through, more laugh out loud comments than anyone)...though, thinking about it, wasn't it female elves that had the most choices...Remanna just may play the field for a bit lol  Originally, I had intended my female dwarf for Sera, then I was going to make a nice Qunari for her, after her comment about Qunari women...so yeah, this may just end up being Solas' love.  So many choices!  *Remembers that Dorian isn't one of them, gets a sad*

It's content that gives the impression that it's okay to abuse someone in a relationship.  There's no options to stand up for Dorian or to try to help him.  That is not an acceptable way to deal with a topic that gets plenty of coverage in other media that does it better and gives it the proper context.  You can't half ass something like that, and that's what it is at it's current form.

Looks like we'll need to go back to the basics:

101 - Videogames are not real.
102 - They don't have to depict situations in a relistic manner.
103 - They don't have to depict situations in a pleasant manner.

In your opinion.

Like front + profile at least?
