Hahaha. Please don't dress up in those feather things, Dorian. You have way better fashion sense than Anders! (Or Trev, for that matter- though Skyhold pajamas... maybe not.)

edit: though Dorian's bare shoulder and armor held on by string does confuse me just a little bit.

I don't think anyone fully understands that decision, but I really can't complain with the view it gives us   :P

And he wonders why he's cold all the time. Put on some real armor, or at least a tunic or something!

My Lavellan will keep him warm, tho <3

Yeah, all our mages need a cat (and a hug). I don't understand why it's not in the game.

Yeah, he totally needs one, (particularly that one), though I have to admit he reminds me of a cat as well (with the arrogance, the firm belief in his superiority, his need to be clean, and the way he shows affection, it is all very cat like)

This is my first post to a gaming forum ever, and it is on a Dorian thread. I see where my priorities lie.

Hello everyone.

TV Tropes continues to puzzle me...anyone got any clarification on these?

2) Seriously, that banter about Iron Bull having sex with Dorian on the war table...are we sure that plays for both the Inquisitor and Dorian? Or has someone confused the Inquisitor's RP English accent for Dorian's? Because that's one of the rare times that Bull makes an attempt to guard his partner's privacy, and the "if a fade rift opened up right now" and "we're both consenting adults" lines sound much more in line with the Inquisitor than Dorian.

Sorry to bother everyone, but I'm working on a little character analysis thingy, and I'd like to be accurate - I tend to miss things ("no, Dorian is not holding a glove under his chin, that's his boyfriend's magic hand").

It is The IB and Inquisitor. It's the only relationship banter I got, and I, regrettably, didn't have Solas in my group. (I find it hard to leave Dorian at the camp.) One response choice for you is mortification: "If a rift opened up right now and swallowed me, I'd be fine with that." And Solas would have said: "Provided it tied you down first, one assumes." Made me laugh when I found that out.

"no, Dorian is not holding a glove under his chin, that's his boyfriend's magic hand" - lol. I love that card. Do you get that card if you choose to take things slow? Or does the discussion in bed trigger its change?

I romanced him with an elf, and I wish there had been more discussion regarding that. Tevinter mages have a habit of using elves for their comfort and rituals. Now I understand that Dorian probably didn't, but it's still prevalent in their culture.

Sandara's art with the peacocks really suits Dorian. Thanks for posting that.

I created a Qunari Male just to see what it would be like to romance Dorian with one.  I powered through the main quest with CE so it didn't take long to get to the romance content. I have no intent on finishing the game with the character. It wasn't bad but (no offense to Qunari players) it was ridiculous. lol! The animated scenes where the Inquisitor literally shrank or Dorian grew inches above him before my eyes where just  .  It wasn't even a cut to Dorian suddenly being taller, they literally grew/shrank on screen during the scene.  Couldn't BW had animated different scenes to make up for the height difference?  It's to a point where I'm just gonna call them lazy.  Also, there didn't seem to be a lot racial dialogue. There was some mention of him being a Qunari but otherwise it was sort of no different than playing my Trevelyans.  It really doesn't seem like much of a difference in experiencing the story.  It would have been nice to have more racial dialogue while talking to Dorian and just in general really.

Oh well, here's the guy. D'Artagnan Adaar.  I wasn't fond of the Qunari body given to us though. I didn't notice how bad it was until he was in his PJs.  If I could have customized his body I would have. Other than that, I'd do him.

Yup, I saw the magic height changing, and it was incredibly distracting.

It's even worse in the bedroom scene when Dorian is sitting on the edge of the bed. With my Lavellan, Dorian is looking at him almost at the same height. With Adaar, Dorian's eyes are rolled all the way up inside his head so all you see is sclera. Creepy as hell. I assume it's animated so his eyes focus on the Inq, instead of tilting his head. If they'd had Dorian looking up at least a little, and with his eyes angled, it'd be much better.

But, my elves are a million times prettier than my first Qunari. My Qunari rogue, though... he's kinda hot, and I will probably play him more in time, too.

Gaggle of elves

...I definitely would take the elves over my Qunari.

Thanks for posting this. I noticed it a bit with my male human Inquisitor, and they are actually the same height using the male human model. I can imagine that it is even weirder with the other races.

I'll just go with "A wizard did it" and leave it at that. ;)

lol!! I also noticed the white eyed creepy look Dorian has. I didn't notice it with my Trevelyans but I felt like calling the Exorcist during my Qunari scene.

Cute Qunari! We sort of picked the same eye color. :)

I think I like the last Elf the most. I must be a sucker for elves with white hair.

And now for everyone's viewing displeasure, Dorian with the non human Quizzies:

"Cole, why have you been running around Skyhold holding a stool?"

"Because the animation department was sad."

The third one I think was channeling Fenris- which isn't a bad thing, he's my canon romance for DA2 (I like deadpan snarky, broody elves, what can I say?). He's also the (headcannoned) older of the three and just has the more mature look to me, and with that slightly grizzled 5 o'clock shadow going on, he's a hottie. The mage is youngest, and rogue between them both. I like all three and find it hard to decide which one I like most, as each one embodies traits that I find really attractive. I suppose if they were real people, then the third one would be my pick, as out of the three, he'd be the most mature and worldly. Appearance-wise, it's pretty much a three way tie.

Here I am, creeping on my pixel elves. (Especially the mage.) Does that lead to the special hell where child molesters and people who talk at the theater go?

A dwarven inquisitor literally stands on a random stool in the IB romance just to kiss him, I watched a video of that and nearly died laughing. I feel like that is almost more ridiculous than magical height changes.

This is literally my life. Head over heels for broody, and perhaps too enamored with my elves. (Which I would post pictures of if my computer felt like cooperating, but my favorite of which is naturally my profile picture.)

You're in good company! If only my second Trevelyan was real *sigh*

Spoiler

Channeling Fenris :D  That's probably like I like the 3rd one so much. He almost looks like he could be Fenris' older brother.

I think so. It provides electric resistance, and I think most cloth that provides electric resistance is yellow. Very Pokemon of them.

Who's that Pokemon! It's Dorianchu

Yes, but Calpernia had to wear it to that one party so Dorian had to throw it away.

I'm glad they ditched that idea. While cool, if he ended up with headgear most of the time like Leliana or Cole we would have missed out on his glorious hair.
