I got the banter bug so I don't hear banter often.    Is that referring to Dorian and Quizzy?

Okay, so I'm not sure but I think Dorian's romance is broken for me. Everything was going fine, and I did One Last Venatori and the quest from Mother Giselle. We got back to Skyhold, talked, and I entered a romance with him... or so I thought. I chose the option that said Begin A Romance with Dorian, and after that confronted Mother Giselle, but then after that, I didn't really notice any change in the dialogue options with Dorian after the encounter. I didn't think anything of it until suddenly I wander into my bedroom and Bull is in my bed and one thing lead to another and well... It was all very... unexpected. So I ran to go talk to Dorian and noticed that I can tell him we need to talk, and its a Romance dialogue, and when I do, he says something along the lines of "Oh, so what's the news on the "us" front then?" and then the next dialogue option says that it will enter a relationship with him, so I click it, he says "okay, lets see how this goes", and the convo ends. But then if I talk to him again, I can do that all over again, so I can infinitely start a relationship with him, but it never seems to ACTUALLY start. I was hoping that it would sort itself out but then (again) very suddenly, Josephine told me to go talk to Leliana, who started threatening me if I break Josephine's heart. So I went and talked to Josephine, had the option to break up with her and chose that option (which was heartbreaking, by the way) and then went to talk to Bull, same thing- broke up with him. So I went back to Dorian to see if it had fixed it, but nothing seems to have changed. I am SO SO confused and I don't understand what's happening. All I want is for Dorian to love me! Any ideas on if this can be fixed, because I REALLY don't want to have to start over or wait for my next playthrough... especially since I broke up with Bull, who was my only other male option...

There is a bug. There is some issues with Dorian's romance not beginning. The most reliable place to get it to start is at the end of his personal quest (when you are talking by the window). If you start it with Mother Giselle and him, it can be hit or miss, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Some people have found leaving the area and then clicking began romance has worked, but that is not a reliable fix. If you can go back, I would just start it with his personal quest. Other than that, it is just waiting for the patch (and who knows if that will even be fixed in the next patch)

I am pretty sure it was Skyhold, but I had a bug with Cole actually appearing in the game, so I could be wrong.

Yeah, it was hillarious. But it was extra weird because I have only flirted with him once. Same with Josie. I don't get what happened. I guess I'm just going to have to reload and not break up with Bull because otherwise I have to lose a week of playing in order to get a second chance at fixing Dorian... /weep

That's too bad. Dorian is great. I'm on my second playthrough and I just had to pick Dorian as a LI again.

Have to agree there. Though shirtless elf in the romance scene is kind of cringe inducing to me. The male elf model without clothes looks less like he's just slenderly built and a bit more like he's got an eating disorder or something. I do love the balance they've found with the facial structure, though. So much better than the mostly questionable changes in DA2. I could moon over Fenris all day, but the noses on most elves were just so weird.

 

Dat long torso tho.... so much skin to touch.

 

I'm a weird one, I like the straight nose bridge. It's just so distinct. I tried to get close to it with my DAI elves, but it's not perfect. I guess the DA2 elves just didn't bother me at all. The background NPCs were definitely an issue, but the main story elves (Merril, Fenris, a couple npcs you interact with) weren't bad at all.

Eh, they probably did it on purpose. Like the other people did it in Avatar, where all important ones looked pretty and the rest were like "wtf is that thing even".

It's like "spot the main character" in anime.
