According to the southern chantry. There's really no cohesive picture on how the Imperial chantry views Andraste as a whole, but it is stated in chantry lore that the Imperial chantry refuting that Andraste was in fact divine is what lead to the schism of the chantries in the first place.

Ah, okay. I thought it was just the magic thing. Do you have any links or screenshots I can use? :)

I always assumed that the Andrastian and Imperial Chantries stances on Andraste were supposed to mirror Christianity and Judaism's stances on Jesus.

Here if you go to 24:00, he discusses the disagreement over Andraste. It does sound like the Imperial Chantry doesn't view her as divine.

Okay :) thanks!
New question though, does Dorian really not know Felix had the Blight or was he just saying that about a lingering disease because he doesn't know the Inquisitor at that point.

Seems like it, which is why they appoint men as Divine and not women. Anything to steer it away from the Andrastian Chantry.  I actually think the Vints are right about Andraste. I think she was just a mage who did some great things that got her killed. The people just had to stamp something divine on to her. Just look at how fast they are willing to bend a knee and proclaim someone "Herald of Andraste"  I'm sure if Andraste didn't exist I could very easily see them calling the IQ "The Herald of the Maker" or something.  It's even funnier cause my guy is a mage as well.

History, paragraph 4 talks briefly about the schism of the chantry.

That is what I always assumed. He knew Felix's mother died from Darkspawn and Felix got sick around then. This is my head canon, but I think there is a stigma to having the blight since you will die and could infect others and I think there was a codex or something that said you were better off just killing the people who have the blight rather than let them become ghouls. It is just easier for everyone to say sickness.

Lots of posts since I went to work!

About the line in Dorian's personal quest ("I've more than just heard about it, actually"), and Halward going "Oh so that's why!" I took it to mean he was insinuating that Dorian was having sex with the Inq at that point, and that's why he's joined the Inquisition. As I recall, Dorian's line is "No, you don't get to make those assumptions about him." It definitely comes across as very defensive there, he doesn't want his father assuming they're sleeping together, or that Dorian is using him, or the negativity that'd come from it if they were. Dorian later says he doesn't care what people think about *him*, he cares what people think about "us," and thus, the Inq.

My rogue thinks it's pretty adorable that Dorian wants to protect him, even tho he truly doesn't care what people think of it. My mage, being a bit more bashful in that regard, would appreciate it more. My warrior, given the option, would probably be like "lol let them say it to my face if they have a problem."

Probably the only way I won't romance him is playing a female character. Taking a break for WoW right now tho ;p

I've finally reached Redcliffe with my male Trevelyan mage but I can't stand looking at him anymore. His hair's too bright and his nose looks weird, this guy isn't worthy of Dorian but ugh the idea of doing the Hinterlands again so soon...

I never play male characters. At all. I avoid RPGs with male-only protagonists because I don't like playing non-females.

Yet, I'm playing a male character just to romance Dorian. I didn't even do this for Morrigan in DAO even though I dreamed about her at night.

That's how much sway Dorian has over me.

(Also, it's kind of interesting playing a male.)

Oh, I know that pain.  It took me 3 attempts to create a male pc that I don't detest. I guess by the third attempt he was ok at least.

But now... I can't create a female elf that I would stand, it's just infuriating. I've tried it 6 or 7 times yesterday, reached the point when you should ally with mages or templars and I just can't.  <_< I don't know why it's so hard, damn it. In CC they look completely different, ugh.

"Are you alright Amatus? Good. Well so am I."

OMG! I've never heard that line in the fade until now.

For some reason that quest is buggy for me. The Terror demon usually speaks only to Hawke and Loghain, enemies don't die causing me to reload and do the fight over.  Only in one  play through did he address the fears of my companions which I assume he is supposed to do that for any companion I bring in. I hate missing out on so much content due to these dialogue bugs.

As for the CC, They really need a black emporium. like in DA2, Idk why they didn't add one so we can change our PC's appearance if we're unhappy instead of having to start all over. I swear BW can be so backwards sometimes.

I think I will have to play this scene out differently the next time I do it as I usually skip that investigate option. It's almost too good to pass up with his response there.

Yeah... I love making girl mages and they belong to Cullen. I have a hard time branching out once I'm hooked on a particular LI. I figure if I'm going to devote 90+ hours to a play that it might as well be something I'll really enjoy, even if I've already done it.

Yeah, I miss the Mirror so bad. I really don't understand the purpose of not including it. It's just so handy since the lighting in the CC is completely unreliable despite what they say. Like, I finally made a Trevelyan to romance Cullen today and I was making the facial features as large as possible to give a more masculine look, which mostly worked out really well, except in certain lights you can see that the face is too big for the back of the skull.  <_<

I think this is one of those banter bug problems. I never got it during my first play through and we were together for a huge chunk of the game. I only ever got the "Is everyone still breathing? Good" line and that was only pretty close to the end.

Hah I got the romance line for the first (and only) time during the Adamant fade section after combat ended during one of the protect-the-Divine-from-spiders things. At the time I thought it was situational, but I guess not.

I STILL haven't gotten the "You're happier now" banter with Cole. GRRR!

Some guy said I write just some one-line posts, so to hell with me. OK, to hell with me. And listen to that guy who loves long posts, the longer - then wiser according to his post. Gogogo, write long post, pal. And once again: I would like to say that Dorian is a whiner and I dislike him, I repeat it here for the last time, no need to argue. Everyone has the right to like a character or not, but next time a company makes a gay NPC, let´s encourage them to be kind of more original. At least drop the script with daddie issues. Goodbye for now. And Ironbull is the best !

What a strange person.

Ah so it's just something he repeats. Then it must be a banter bug issue. I also heard it after the protect the "Divine" from spiders while she takes down the barrier. He said it once the fighting was done. That darn banter bug!  I've also never heard the you're happier now banter.  Thank goodness for youtube.

It's occurred to me that Dorian has actually inspired a rather large change in the way I RP.

I usually play female characters as my more idealistic self inserts, while I play male character (simply because I identify with them less) as my opportunity to be more renegade and ruthless without feeling like it's a version of "me" taking those actions.

I could do that while romancing previous LI's as a male PC, but I can't do that while romancing Dorian. I can only pair him with a "Paragon" Inquisitor. Even if I tried to pair a darker anti-hero with him, I can only imagine them wanting to become a better man for his sake.

It's really very remarkable to me.

I've never got any of the amazing banter between Cole and Dorian. It doesn't matter how long I drag them around together, I only get the basic spirit-y stuff. Once I got the bit about the Orlesian hats and yesterday I got the wooden duck one, but I can never get the profound psychoanalyzing ones.

I've never gotten anything romance-related with them, but one time I had like three conversations with them in a row in which Cole kept pestering Dorian about his father to the point he asked the Inquisitor to make him stop. And it absolutely broke me. Gladly Cole finally understood to be sorry when my Inquisitor told him it was enough.

This game tugs my heart strings in a terrible manner :'D
