Uhhhhh dang. Thank the Maker I wasn't drinking when I saw that or I would have spit it all over the monitor.
That's one use for all those straps.

I just randomly did a google search and found it XD
And yeah. Definitely a good use for those straps. My boys each have a different reaction: rogue is terribly excited, warrior is just kinda smirking, and my poor, young, mage is flustered. It's funny picturing their reactions to walking up to their room and finding that sitting on their bed hahaha

Innocent little Lavellan mages would probably pass out from all their blood rushing to one of two places too quickly, possibly both. I think this would just result in my Lavellan having a permanent blush for the rest of his life and maybe trouble making eye contact with Dorian in public for a while.
My qunquisitor would want to bone him. But that's pretty much his ambient response to Dorian's presence.
So I finally got a chance to pick the star option on my fem Inquisitor and it is SO adorable. I really like his reaction. He is cutely surprised that I responded that way. We don't get to see Dorian be "cute" very often.

I play my mage as on the young side, relationship naive, and cautious about love. He's had no time for all that, what with training with magic and memorizing everything he'll need to know to be a teacher/leader. So yeah, naked Dorian would turn his ears red.
I can totally picture it.
Mage walks to Dorian's alcove to talk about something or other. Dorian is all "'morning, Amatus *grin*". Mage stares, turns, and walks away while Dorian laughs. My boy in particular is just shy as hell. He wants so very much, but he's bashful about it. He'd blush every time he looked at Dorian after they have sex, despite them both being fully clothed and in public talking about completely innocuous things.

Yeah, I have two Qunari too, mage and rogue. Both of them can't wait to get into his pants, and they're not remotely shy about it. They see what they want, they go after it. The rogue especially, he's kinda a horn dog.
Oh, my war would totally be smirking. He teases him about the straps as it is in my head: "You Tevinters and your buckles."
I mean, seriously, have you looked at all the various Vint armor? BUCKLES EVERYWHERE. Even Alexius in prison, who is in his under armor thing, has buckles on that.
Haha, my warrior would just find it funny as hell and say something about trying to seduce him and was Dorian wanting anything in particular or just showing off. He's got a more subdued sense of humor, a bit dry, so Dorian's various sassy fits just leave him standing there with a quirked brow and a half grin while he lets Dorian wear himself out going through whatever tirade he's all up in a tizzy about this time.
FemQuizzy: I really appreciate you doing this, Dorian. I have so few opportunities to relax.
Dorian: I'm flattered...well, actually it's not entirely unexpected that someone would ask me to model for them.
FemQuizzy: Would this be a bad time for me to tell you I have no artistic talents whatsoever - just, well - a girl can spend only so many hours looking at the mountains.

Mine's a man of dualities. A mercenary who loves/loved the freedom and the bloodlust (this specifically because he's qunari and there seems to be this idea that they have this vicious/bestial side) of battle but who also spent the majority of his money on buying books on every topic there is to read about. Which he had to stash in his parents' cottage since he couldn't take it with him. A ruthless and cunning schemer but with an oddly idealistic and occasionally, alarmingly naive streak. Huge, muscled, horned and grey but soft-spoken and with an artless, unassuming grace to his movements. Someone whose brain is always five steps ahead but who flounders hopelessly when something unexpected happens. A shameless, almost reflexive flirt but fiercely loyal and (usually) tender towards his lover.
Dorian is fascinated by him but also often deeply unsettled because he sees Revas as a problem fixer first and foremost, sure sometimes he smashes something put he puts it back together again and it's usually better off for the smashing BUT he can't help but worry that he's just another project for his qunquisitor. Something to fix and then send on his merry way. In my head it's part of the reason he says he wants to go back to Tevinter, only part mind you and-
Man. How'd I get here.

Don't worry, I spend an awful lot of time thinking out scenarios and dialogues my characters would have with Dorian (and each other... I really think my Lavellan rogue and mage would make a much more fitting couple, but since that's not possible...).
No different either than thinking about my Dalish male warden pining away for Alistair. He had such the crush on him, but Alistair just wanted to be friends, then he met Zev and found his happy spot.

Aside from a tad bit of experience, that's pretty much my Lavellan in a nutshell as well. He's really good at playing things cool and hiding his emotions right up until: Dorian. Then you'd best believe that it is in fact possible for someone to blush to the very tips of their pointed ears.
Man. How'd I get here.

Sometimes you just gotta let the head canon out.

Seriously? No wai! You too? I'm glad I'm not the only person who headcanoned my Lavellan mage that way. (Hi, how you doing? New Dorianmancer here.)
My Lavellan is actually a freckled redhead on top of being shy and prudish, so I imagine Dorian has made a mental game out of making him blush. I imagine when lightly teasing he'll see if he can make his skin the same color as his freckles, when being more suggestive he likes to see if he can make the freckles disappear inside the red, and when he's really going for broke he'll see if he can make Lavellan's face redder than his hair. This picture, though? I imagine this stunt would just result in the blush bursting out of Lavellan's nose and then he'd be too embarrassed to directly look at Dorian for a week.
(Poor Dorian, he makes it so clear he likes the Inquisitor, but he comes on so strong my innocent Lavellan is easily frightened off. Likewise, my Lavellan keeps mustering up the courage to show Dorian affection outside of cutscenes - flirt, ask for a kiss, take up his offer to "spend time together" - but then Dorian says something so suggestive he gets nervous or tongue-tied, then suddenly there's something so important that needs to get done on the other side of Skyhold right this minute...)

Freckles? Yeah, my mage ended up with freckles. It's one of the skins that made him look younger to me. No red hair though (my rogue got red hair/green eyes and looks a few years older than my mage does).
He's definitely one for not having public displays of affection, even just a kiss would make him blush and grin and then he'd be worried about people gossiping, or people knowing he's having sex with Dorian. He's supposed to be a leader, but he's just so not ready for it all and is totally out of his element.

Nice! Your Lavellan looks really good. I'm jealous.
Freckles? Yeah, I've made some red-headed characters before, but they tend to be highly idealized. Blood red hair, smooth ivory skin, etc. This time I thought I'd try making a "realistic ginger" character (pale skin, freckles, green eyes, bright orange hair) just see how that goes. It definitely helped with the more fresh and youthful look I was going for (will post pictures later), but ironically I think it helped pour a little too much of my romantic/sexual shyness into it.
Ideally, I really like the relationship dynamic where one partner is more shy, reserved, and "innocent," while the other is more extroverted, outgoing, and liberated. Definitely works well with Dorian since he's so... apologetically himself (and we all love him for it) and seems to find the Inquisitor's more shy or prudish behavior cute. Only problem is he seems to be waiting for my Inquisitor to be making the next move, and he'll have to wait a long time because my Lavellan is too cripplingly shy when it comes to love and sex to even think about saying it.
I think I might be in a different place in the story and romance though. Story-wise I just got back from meeting Stroud in Crestwood, which I did right after meeting Hawke right after getting to Skyhold. Romance-wise I just completed Dorian's personal quest with his father, romantic sidequest with his birthright amulet, and had that argument with Giselle about Dorian being an "undue influence" on Quizzy (wow, those came in rapid succession). Now Dorian's strongly hinting that he wants to go to bed soon, but my Quizzy is not ready to broach the subject. I imagine he keeps getting nervous, flustered, tongue-tied, and chokes on his words, then ultimately decides to just leave (and then stumble or bump into things on his way out, because love).
Ugh.

Thanks
I think I probably spent at least an hour on him. I post my elves a lot, I am proud of getting them to look so nice.
Baha he sounds adorable though. My mage has met with Stroud so far, and had Giselle's "undue influence" talk. I had to make him do a flirt to start the romance, even though it's not something he'd do. I just stick my fingers in my ears and go LALALALA over it because there's just really no other way. Now there's the options for "alone time" and having some fun, so I'm just going to headcanon that they spend time talking about magic, researching cool stuff about magic, debating about magic, and so on for their fun, with occasional (because he's a little stuffy and wouldn't do it all the time) goofing off. Occasionally he asks for alone time (hence the avatar), which gets him all weak in the knees but he's determined not to rush things. I'm letting that be their get to know each other phase, and imagining that Dorian would be teaching him how to relax more, that there's a little mutual flirting- which amounts more to Dorian teasing him a bit and getting him tongue-tied. After they go do Wicked Eyes and have their dance, then I'll let it progress enough that my boy feels comfortable doing a personal favor of his own volition (the family necklace quest), then go do some side questing, then go to his room to initiate Dorian stalking him up there like a piranha hahaha.
Elfies (yet again)
I like seeing what other people do with their elves, and I'm especially amused that so many people have made their mages so similar to mine, for similar reasons.
Welp, the Dorian quest bug is fixed! ![]()
I just clicked on him and got the letter cut scene on my female elf that had the bug.
Since everyone's been posting Inquisitor pictures, look at what I made today.

(I'm going to try really hard to get over my human-ist tendencies.)
Going to romance Dorian, obviously.
Poor Cassandra. I was almost hoping I'd get the Dorian bug just to give myself the final push to actually romance you, but it looks like that'll never happen now.

He looks so super serious XD Love the eyes. He's cute.
So, I finally finished my fluff fic

It might be awful :X I always worry about getting characterization right when writing someone else's character, I normally only write my own original stuff, so please don't hate me if it's not awesome.
I'm running away now.
edit: oh god it's the page opener *flees*

To victory, Amatus!
I said I was running away, but no one has commented on this. It's lovely!
I seriously need to commission one of the artists we keep posting, I have a desperate burning desire to have art of my characters.
