If he is Dorian, shouldn't he have a British accent? Haven't all of the people we've met from Tevinter had British accents?

Yeah, but I hope they change that in DA:I and future games. IMO Tevinter should have its own accent different from Ferelden.

I thought Fenris had an American accent. Am I just totally remembering it wrong?

I guess that since there haven't been that many of them, it wouldn't be that big of a deal if it got changed before we visited Tevinter. Kind of like how they changed the Dalish accent between DA: O and DA 2.
I kind of want him to have a British accent though. I think it suits him, although I could see why people want him to have a more unique accent since he's awesome.

No. His accent was unique, but it wasn't American. I think i heard someone say it was S. African, even though Gideon Emery is British.

Gideon Emery spent his childhood in S. Africa, hence he has a bit of the accent.

I... just realized something. And it's making me giggle.
Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy (Dorian, if they haven't changed his name?) totally has Superman's hair.
And he kind of reminds me of Autolocus (I'm sure I've misspelled that), the king... of thieves. From Xena.
... I have no idea, but... he's still cute.

Well that explains it. Whatever his upbringing, it worked because both Fenris and Balthier have sexy voices.

Maybe it's a regional thing, but I have some friends from South Africa and it doesn't sound anything like them. Maybe it's one of those "international" accents that's just a mix of things.

Lol, probably. Either way, that voice is swoon worthy.

A Mexican accent wouldn't make much sense, all Antivan characters have been voiced by Spanish VAs so far.
Not sure why that matters, Mexican and Spanish English accents are different, and even if they are different nations they are neighbours, and were of one nation before. For all we know border towns and cities may share accents similar to neighbouring nations. It's not like that is unheard of.
So I don't see how Mexican accent is wrong in regards to lore, just because Antiva has Spanish. Unless you're implementing "earth" history into the Thedas world.
I think he'll have neither, merely a reference to the quote, if either Italian or some Hispanic accent would be used, Mexican is a nice one.

It's somewhere between English and South African, like his VA.

I'm thinking my main party will be Dorian, Cole and Varric.
Me, too! I've wanted this party for quite awhile. Though, if Dorian isn't an available love interest for female Inquisitors, I might switch Cole out with whoever she's romancing. Hm. This might be the first Bioware game where I don't cart my love interest around with me everywhere I go.
But DHMG is definitely a permanent member, as is Varric. Hope they get along.
As to DHMG's voice actor and accent . . . eh. I admit to being mostly un-picky. All of the previous suggestions sound good.
I wonder how long he's going to remain "DHMG"?

For me, it might be Varric that gets bumped more often the first playthrough, if just because I want to get to know the new guys. Those three are definitely my favorites right now, though.

I think "Dorian" would have a London accent, probably more upper-class and RP ('received pronunciation') than many of the ones we heard in Ferelden.
Kind of like all the Imperial officer accents from Star Wars, to conjure a reference out of nowhere. Apparently they were going for RP accents.

Grand Moff Tarkin! Yes!
I imagined something like that from the war room conceptart, might be a bit of a cliché, but one I like.

I think people worry about this "stereotype" issue too much. It's not difficult to not make a character into a raging stereotype. The last thing I want is for them to try to stamp out any hints of gender non-conformity in a male LI just so we can be super sure he's not a "gay stereotype". That's absolutely not the way to be inclusive. I trust Bioware knows that.
In all honesty though, these assumptions about his personality and manner are largely fan created, based of one piece of concept art. There are a lot of personalities that go along with 'brazen and clever'. He could be anything. (though hopefully still dramatic)

There is certainly a risk of constructing the character a certain way in your mind and being disappointed if the reality is completely different.
I think expecting to like (or love) a character based on one screenshot of them might even be a bit premature, given we know absolutely nothing about their voice actor, role in the party, personality, character storyline, interactions with other companions, etc. A lot of the assumptions about his personality came from that one piece of concept art.
Personally I find DHMG and the Dorian outline intriguing, and enough to say that he's probably one of the most interesting party members so far, but there's probably not enough known yet to go overboard with the excitement. YMMV, though.

I was speaking more generally, because I've seen the "stereotype" thing come up in multiple threads. People have been making the same argument that Cassandra wont be a lesbian because it would be stereotypical, also.

Aye, true enough. At this point, everything is tentative and speculative. Nevertheless, I hope Bioware does a good job with the accent and dialogue. Plus, he is the very first ridiculously photogenic companion we are getting
That counts for something! Right?
I say we rename him from DHMG to RFC (ridiculously photogenic companion). In this way we put less expectations to his personality, and instead bask in his moustache GLORY. That olive skin, that lean face, that immaculate hair, that sexy moustache. He must be a Tevinter God of Love! Bioware, hurry up and release some info on him!
