I love how Nightmare laughs with Dorian, not at him.
Nightmare: (something something becoming like daddy insult).
Dorian: ... Rather uncalled for.

Haha lol, yea i know he has that reputation, but i'm kind of immune to it xD. I watched almost every movie and show of his filmography, and he actually lives in many. He has a specially strong shield in Sharpe series, a good example that he can survive.

Anyways, going back to Dorian, something silly i found here

Dorian taking a selfie in Val Royeaux just to show how dreadfully dull he finds it.
He is totally undressing the Inquisitor with his eyes, lol

I just had a fun fangirl freakout and thought I'd share.
A bit of background: I don't have HBO, so I watch Game of Thrones when it comes out on DVD and am always a season behind. Next week the last (fourth) season is being released so I rewatched the third season. Who did I happen to see? Ramon Tikaram (Dorian's VA). I just about died. If you have it available, he is in the episode Second Sons (s.3, ep.8) as 1/3 guys from a mercenary company that comes to talk to Daenerys (dragon girl).
In real life he sounds pretty much like Dorian, so it was weird to hear him doing a different accent for this character and also sounding a bit deeper (just a bit) than normal. Usually, when I recognize a VA in live action media I will hear the voice, know it as whichever character, and then double check on IMDb to make sure. But I recognized Ramon Tikaram right away by looks alone. He is pretty distinctive looking I think, and I'll admit to staring at this photo for a while.
I also discovered that he is in the new movie Jupiter Ascending.
I really do love gushing over voice actors.
My first run-in with Ramon Tikaram was in the BBC drama, This Life, which I think was back in the late 90's. Let's just say, if you want to see him in that... his first couple of episodes are rather interesting
. And he's simply adorable in it. It also stars Andrew Lincoln, of Walking Dead fame.
I kind of squee every time I see him in something, including that season of GOT. He also played a small role for a season in Eastenders.
So I'm not alone. I've used cheat engine to trigger all banters (on all 3 Inquisitors) and nothing (I've got every banter except for mind-reading romance one.) Reinstalled the game and again- nothing. I wish I could hear this conversation in-game, because it's really good.
Same for me
I really like this banter, too. I only heard it in-game once and it was before the patch 3.

Oh thanks! In my current pt the Nightmare finally taunted Dorian (Didn't in any of my other ones) but Dorian didn't respond and I was sad because I figured it meant it had bugged and I was curious what his response would be.
I stumbled upon this and was curious what y'all's thought was.

Leaving aside the obvious Doc was a Jedi Knight companion not a Smuggler one, I guess I can sort of see it. Kind of, but I feel like it's a bit of a stretch :/

Well I can see some similarity, but Dorian just simply looks better than either of them.
Dorian is Tyrone Power in the Mark of Zorro. He even has the same little 'tash. Stick an Inquisitor hat on him and the resemblance is even more uncanny. I've always had a thing for Tyrone Power so it was hardly surprising that the first time he turned up at Haven I sort of melted (and thought damn, why did I decide to play a girl?). His character even seems a little bit based on Tyrone's Zorro, who portrays the image of a foppish noble who can't take anything seriously so people don't realise what he is really. Josephine says pretty much the same about Dorian.

But, Dorian is a time lord. Who is to say that he wasn't time hopping, or those are his past lives.

Literally the only thing they have in common, appearance wise, is the stache. And even those don't look the same. Why not say Dorian is based off of Hitler while they're at it?
Have been pursuing my Zorro theme by getting Dorian to ride round the countryside on the horse instead of me. Charge along at a gallop and pull up into a rear. Man does he look good and then, bless him, he gives the horse a soothing stroke. Killed another dragon tonight. That keeps Bull happy. However, have discovered the downside of continuing to play after killing the big C, no more kisses before bedtime. Just an amusing quip and goodbye. Tried starting a new game with a mage Trevelyan with the aim of romancing Cassandra but I'm so fond of my male Lavellan and his Dorian love affair that I may just go back to just before the mage/Templar decision and play through again on the mage path instead of the Templar one. I know it sounds daft but I can't romance Dorian with anyone else because it would seem like cheating on him.

I thought Dorian's design seemed familiar! I love Autolycus from Xena!
Much like Dorian, he has that "charming, sophisticated, dashing, swashbuckling rogue" look and attitude going for him, but he has a complete heart of gold. He likes to act like he's a selfish bad boy, but when faced with personal gain or doing the right thing/helping his friends, he always chooses the right thing. Just like Dorian! ![]()
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what Dorian's singing voice might sound like? I spied the lute (?) behind his chair in the library and it got me thinking. Would Dorian sing high or low (or whatever the proper musical terms are lol)?
I have to admit I listened to Cullen's isolated vocals from "The Dawn Will Come," and was quite affected.

I thought I saw a video of Tikaram singing. Was it not on here?

Ooo, I'll have to look for that. While I am amazed at how much he sounds like Dorian in real life, it would be even more interesting if Dorian sang a different way--falsetto maybe? I read more than a few posts here and there comparing Dorian's looks to Freddie Mercury's, maybe Dorian has triple-octave range too lol.
I hate to be a Debbie Downer about the whole lute thing, but as this is the second or third time I've seen this referenced in connection to Dorian I feel I should say something. I've noticed the lute in the library as well as the one in the Inquisitor's quarters and other areas of both DAI and DA2. I really get the feeling that it's more just a set prop than anything else, something added in to give the area a lived-in feeling and suggest the presence of people.
It certainly could mean that Dorian plays, I'm not denying that possibility, but I just don't want people to read too much into what could be just digital set dressing. Also, it's not actually Dorian's library, although he practically lives there; the entire population of Skyhold uses it, so the instrument could be there for general use or belong to some other person.

Heh, I hear you. I just figured that since it's in proximity to the chair Dorian seems to have claimed, it could be his. Although I have seen others in that alcove, or walking back and forth, *especially* when I'm trying to have *personal* conversation lol.
Maybe Dorian is tired of Maryden playing "Sera Was Never" for the hundredth time in a row?
Inquisitor: I didn't know that you played the lute.
Dorian: I don't. But Cabot threatened to cut me off for good after I hit Maryden's with a bolt of lightning. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Calling was that damned song she sings about Sera.
This explains why I can't get it out of my head even though I only know half the words.
