WTF did Sebastion do? I mean that's so much worse than any of the other characters.

Nothing really. He just has a bunch of traits I really don't like. Sanctimonious, preachy, indecisive, immature and massively, staggeringly hypocritical. If you refuse to kill Anders he declares he's going to destroy Kirkwall and he actually tries in Inquisition. Like dude. What happened to forgiveness? Anders isn't even there any more WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS YOU CRAZY SCOTSMAN. It also irked me immensely that my Hawke was always a dick to him yet he didn't seem to realize it. Ever. He seemed to think they were friends. No, dude. No. I do not like you. He's totally that guy who always shows up at parties without being invited.

I already find myself planning to do 4 different play throughs so I can romance everyone I want to romance. lol It's like potato chips - bet you can't eat just one. >:3

Lol actually, I've never gotten over the whole "let's watch The Little Mermaid 50 times and memorize all the songs" phase, so I tend to play the game the exact same way multiple times, including PC appearance, mundane and important choices, and romance. My line of thought is that if I'm going to devote 100+ hours to a single play, I might as well really enjoy it with the options that I really like rather than try something different for the sake of being different.

Morrigan and Ohgren are the only two DAO companions I liked.  Alistair was okay but he eventually got on my nerves after several pts.  DA2 is where I had my "ride or die" BFF group. Fenris, Isabella, and Varric.  Although I didn't feel like Varric was my Hawke's friend until DAI.  I liked Aveline but barely used her as she just didn't fit the "merry band of misfits" vibe I liked about DA2. I loved her interactions with Hawke though. Sebastian was cool too, he had his moments.

In DAI I only felt close to Dorian.  I liked Solas, Cole, and Cullen too, but I never felt like they were my PC's real friends like the DA2 cast.

If I had to pick my own DA companions. I would pick Morrigan, Ohgren, Fenris, Isabella, Varric(only if it's Hawke as the PC), and Dorian.

I do this exact thing as well, you're not alone. I varried enough on my playthroughs to romance both Iron Bull and Dorian, and now after those two, despite having the good intentions to try other romances out, I don't think I ever will because I keep going back to the same thing I've already played because I liked it lots the first time I'm sure to like it the second time!

Give me a game where my Warden, Sten, Zevran and Shale can go out on adventures with Hawke, Fenris and Anders, with Iron Bull Dorian and my Lavellan tagging along and I will never play anything else for the rest of my life. The fact that all of those characters would be horribly incompatible, end up with Fenris trying to kill Dorian while Sten glared at Iron Bull as he tried to arm wrestle Shale, while Zevran tried to seduce Lavellan for a threesome with him and the Warden and Anders and Hawke watching making bets on who dies first....yeaaaah I can't imagine it'd go well, but I'd still give anything to witness that spectacular fireball explode! (And of course Cole would have to be there, staring blankly with "I don't think I can help." and being very sad.)

That man holds the distinction of being the only character in all of Bioware lore that I have a murder fetish for.

One day Sebastian, one day!

I thought about this while I was riding the train into work this morning... On my first Dorian character I got the idea in my head I'd do the Tevinter decor to make the place a bit more "homey" for him. I set it and went into the main hall... and literally five seconds later I had to change it. It's so opulent >< I couldn't stand it, which made me feel sad but I can't do that, not even for Dorian :(

I did the same thing just to see what it looked like and wasted no time changing it.  It wasn't so much opulence for me but a sensitivity to the rules and forms of heraldry and it's intended purpose.  I feel like I am betraying all those who flocked to the banner to display allegiance to someone else's colours.

It IS terribly, terribly opulent though.  Not at all suited for the narrow confines of Skyhold.  Which tells me that when we finally get to the likes of Minrathos we may see buildings of a sort to make the Winter Palace look like a quaint cottage.

"You can walk down a side street and find nothing built during the modern ages."

That is what I'm looking forward to if we go to Tevinter. It was fun getting to see a (very small bit) of Val Royeaux after hearing/reading about it over the years, but I was a tad disappointed by just how little we actually got to see. I'm hoping there is actually more if we get up north. *fingers crossed*

I hate him too. He was annoying. And he wanted me to kill Anders.

I also love the small taste of 'vint architecture we got in W Approach.  I'm an architecture junkie and I "greatly approve" that window into what is to come.  Orlais is ok :)  A little too fru fru for me but I enjoyed seeing it.

I need to try out more furnishings. I've used the Free Marches one, which I liked, for my rogue Trevelyan. The birds suited for the rogue-y assassin type character. I have this RP problem when choosing decor, like, "what is this saying about the Inquisition?" When really I just want to choose what's prettiest. Only then I feel guilty. Which is really silly, since, video game.

I have a hard time not liking characters.  As I get to know each one, I get to love them. In the DA series, there isn't one I could point to and say I don't like them. There are a few that I didn't quite bond as much with, and a several that are my absolute loves, since I romanced the hell out of them (Alistair, Zevran, Anders, Dorian, Blackwall), but really I love all of them. It's like trying to pick a favorite cat, as soon as you think "this one is my favorite!" you see another one and lose your heart all over again.

I'd love to see more Tevinter architecture. This game actually impressed me quite a bit with all the different locales, with nothing repeated or reused. I would've liked to have seen more of Orlais, but I did love that little bit of the ocean, where you could look over the water. Absolutely beautiful.

I think heading north would help deal with the plot points raised in Inquisition. And ancient ruins are great, the Temple of Mythal and some of the locations in Skyrim make me wish for an Uncharted-style fantasy game.

I'd like to see Dorian amongst all that Tevinter opulence. An ornate guilded frame surrounding a a glorious masterpiece.

I wish I had played the other DA games, to see how the characters and story fit together.  Alas, I played Morrowind for a long while and got stuck on that. lol.

apparently someone already made it and it has it's own subsection on the DAI tool forums. Not cool. Not cool at all :(

It's already been released on the DAItools forum, the person who made the mod gave it to someone else as they felt it was too controversial for them to upload

I encourage you guys to not discuss this here. It'll just rustle innumerous jimmies and derail the thread. The idea is already being discussed here. If you feel like Dorian needs his own feel free to make one.

Yeah it's better for that topic to stay as far away from this thread as possible. I've said my peace in the linked thread above and haven't been back.

If I can block threads on this site that would be awesome.

At this point I wish the Biomods would just start closing all of those threads. There really doesn't need to be any more "discussion" and the horse has long since disintegrated.

Back on the topic of decor... I don't mind the furniture (chairs and such) and rugs (I quite like the Tevinter black and red), but thing that gets me about all of the decor are those garish statues. It's just way too much. Perhaps if they had an option for the rugs that was separate from the other decor?

Man this thread moves! LOL I can't go back and quote everyone without it taking a while (still new to the forums so still finessing it), but as far as the whole sticking to one thing - I found myself doing that in DAO. Granted I do try and play every class at some point which allows for a bit of variation on the story, I found myself going back to Alistair as far as romance goes. I kept saying as soon as I made a Dalish elf I'd try romancing him. Alistair just was so charming with his witty banter, I couldn't help it. And as far as some of the storyline goes, other than a couple things here and there, I found myself picking the same choices because it just felt right. As far as characters in general go I absolutely loved Shale in DAO. I wouldn't say I hated anyone in the DAO game, but I had some I wasn't particularly attached to and few that I felt strongly for. As far as DA2 goes, I played a little of it when I borrowed it from a friend but didn't get far so I can't comment on that one sadly. With DOI.... I find myself absolutely loving so many of the characters. Solas I adore, Bull I love, Dorian is just... I wanna pinch his cheeks and go shopping with him - and I do hate shopping. I picked Cullen for this play through cause I was curious to see what he was like. So far, I'm not gonna lie I'm sorta disappointed. I'm not very far in, but so far it seems like a..... Alistair clone without the charming humor. I'm hoping it'll get a bit better as we go along. He's okay mind you, he just hasn't won me over like the others have.

Having the option to do some of the things but not all would be nice, all of the Tevinter stuff was just overwhelming for me. I honestly don't remember much about it aside from my initial reaction when it loaded up, it was just all over too much for me. It probably didn't help that I also had switched to the Tevinter throne and Drapery as well... just to see what it was like. After I get my PS4 back I'll have to load up just the decor and see if it helps some.

So a mod was made eventually to make Dorian available to female inq? Eh. It's not really surprising. I don't have any problem with it whatsoever though. It's just a mod, fan art, it's something I support conceptually. Personally I never use such mods. I really wanted to get busy with Kaidan, I saw the mod, thought "cool" and moved on, never even tried it. For me the original story/character, as they are created by the artist has too much meaning (especially if I commit to it emotionally to some degree) and going against it would feel uncofortable at best. Of course there are people who don't have that view and thoroughly enjoy such content. Great.

I do enjoy fan art myself, but mostly only as long as it falls in line to a certain "accuracy" as I understand that particular story/character.

Anyway, I don't remember if I commented on this so... I'll probably just repeat myself :P Love Dorian with no facial hair (talk about fan art/creations)! It makes him look a lot younger and a pt where I can confortably rp both inq and Dorian as being in their early 20s would be awesome. Standard Dorian seems to be in his late 20s otherwise... aww :( lol.

Well unless new info has surfaced in my absence that I missed...

Cheers!

Nope, no info on Dorian's age.  Some have tried to ping his writer on Twitter but DG's official stance was essentially, "Don't ask me" (said sometime last December).

23-25 Dorian is how I roll with it, based on our own historical arranged marriage age, primarily.  Then there are those around him who treat him as somewhat immature.  Not a the bad way though.  Highly skilled and worth respect, just to them he is a "young man" or "Boy".  It's just what makes sense to me, though it's really not a big deal.  A lot is probably my age fed into it.  I'm old folk and to me, Dorian is a young man who still has 2 solid decades and more of his prime to do all the marvelous things he will eventually accomplish smile.png  Makes me feel good.
