I take that back. Their iron age lifestyle is anything like our historic iron age then a boy is considered a man at 14-16, married off between 21-25 and is in the grave by 38-48

Going by the wiki's screenshots I really like that red and black Tevinter carpet. Even though it looks weirdly flat. Can't properly see the statues though I'm expecting snakes.

^ The statues are those same walking soldiers that attacked us during the Meredith fight in DA2 and that you find in the Western Approach. On the left and right side of the throne are giant busts of dragons/old gods.
Now that I think of it, I imagine that this decorating choice might really unnerve both Varric and Cullen.

I just returned from Twitter and discovered something...odd, to put it mildly. It concerns Dorian's voice actor, Ramon Tikaram.
Actors like Gideon Emery, Steve Valentine and Greg Ellis, who voice famous characters in the Bioware franchises, have thousands of fans. Some of them, dozens of thousands.
They are all considered handsome men by the feminine part of the fandom.
Now guess how many fans does Ramon have on Twitter? A thousand? five hundred? Two hundred?
Not even a hundred.
Exactly 49 followers.
What?
-Sera
That's it. 49 followers.
Apparently, Ramon doesn't even have a twitter. However, there is a Ramon Tikaram fans profile. And that's how many people follow.
You know, his character must vary between the first and second position on the unoficial list of the fans' favorite characters and yet, it's as if his VA never existed.
This stroke me as very odd because he's obviously an incredibly talented voice actor and made an impeccable accent for the character. His work was nothing short of brilliant. Even so, we don't see him receive the same amount of adoration from Bioware fans as Gideon, Steve and Greg do.
I can't help but wonder that, if he were American, British, Australian or Canadian and were very attractive and handsome, he'd have a lot more followers.
This is not a line of thinking I'd like to follow, but there it is. Mr Ramon, although very talented, is no handsome devil, so to speak, at least when compared to Bioware's more famous VAs and he doesn't seem worried to forge a deeper connection with his new fans.
I thought his number of followers would boost after DA:I, just as it did for Steve Valentine after DA:O and Greg Ellis after DA:I, but...there you have it.
I'll keep my hopes up that he returns to voice Dorian or other amazing characters in the franchise.
(If he does have a large fanbase somewhere which includes many Bioware fans, do forgive my mistake. So far, I have not seen it.
As a matter of fact, if you'd like to introduce more fans to it, I'd be happy to join.
)

I'm guessing this is the biggest reason why doesn't have many followers. If it was the real dude, he would probably get more.

I've been a fan a long time since he turned up on "This Life". I'm one of those Twitter followers you mention. Here's the superficial rub on why it seems he lacks popularity:
It's true he has no media accounts. He respects his fans but leads an extremely private life. Fans who have met him say he's a lovely person to talk to and very funny. His interviews are rare and to the point. He's dropped hints that he's old fashioned about favoring real life over time spent dealing with people through the interwebs.
He's an extremely devoted father. He acts to pay the bills and for enjoyment but for a long time it did not dominate. As such he's mentioned in the rare interview that certain times of the year he avoids working so that he can be with his kids. Though I've noticed a trend that now they've mostly grown, he's coming out for larger projects, which are leading to more and more roles.
His career has been on a very slow build (see previous paragraph). Some is also due to overcoming being offered only stereotypical ethnic roles. More time goes on the more he's able to get roles that aren't hung up on his racial background. That's a huge triumph for him. A credit to his skill as an actor and his ability to avoid being typecast.
He's mostly known for bit roles on TV series where sometimes he's on the screen for no more than 10 total minutes. Only on rare occasions has he ever starred in anything. For all that he's still popular enough in England that hearts set to fluttering when he appears. This includes a lot of the women on set
Additionally, a lot of the shows he's appeared on aren't known outside of India or the British territories.
But now he's been Dorian. He's played a role in "Game of Thrones". He was in "Jupiter Ascending". He's being discovered outside of Britain. I hear he's wrapping up production in a shared starring role in "Five Greedy Bankers" (there's a twitter for that and FB). So if he was trying to avoid the Americas and other locales he's put his foot in it now, hehe.
I think Dorian is doing the most in earning him a lot of curious, potential fans who are hunting down his appearances to see what he's about.
Hope that helps explain some of it.

Oh my! He's getting lots of projection lately. I didn't even know he was in Jupiter Ascending (still have to watch the movie x_x ).
It's nice to know he's a down-to-earth guy. In this industry, it's easy to be carried away by success and lose perspective, to forget the things that matter.
Thank you so much for the comprehensive post on our beloved voice actor, KellinC! ![]()

I almost always go the templar route, but there are two things that still make the mage path worthwhile to me:
1). The "In Hushed Whispers" musical theme.
2). Dorian's "Don't worry, I'll protect you," line.
I can't help it. I've played the Templar route exactly once. All other times I go the Mage route. With Dorian being my #1 side kick I can't seem to do otherwise.

I like Dorian taking care of the dying Chancellor Roderick, which he does instead of Cole during a templar run. For me that makes up for the times that I don't do In Hushed Whispers.

I think when I finally get round to my mage pt I'm going to do the Templar route again. Precisely because it seems an odd thing for a mage to do. The human rogue always calls me back and I just can't get off him.

I think this might be why I'll only be able to play the templar's path when I'm NOT doing a Dorymance. If I ever don't do a Dorymance that is. It means a lot, for a non-magical character especially since they must be confused +83. It's also because I feel like they form a special bond, they are the only two who really see what a future in which Corypheus wins looks like. PLUS. At the end when they're discussing at the war table the Inquisie seems so endearingly awkward. First the surprised 'you're staying (pfffft not that I care or anything)?" and then "There's no one I'd rather be stuck in time with" smooth Lavellan.
Smooth.

Actually both times I've gone Templar it's been with mage characters. Not sure how that worked out. (I usually just make choices to vary up the experience rather than as roleplaying.)

I have a hard time picking Templars period, but it's even harder when I do romance him. The way they meet and the experience they have during In Hushed Whispers seems like such a more natural start and progression of a relationship. You do tend to bond most closely with people you have experienced high stress situations with, and the Inquisitor and Dorian is pretty much the only part of the game where it's just you and a companion saving the whole damn world. Sort of romantic in a weird way.

This is *such* an awkward line (or couple of lines)--nevermind that clunky trailing preposition (and I'm not a grammar snob, I swear, but stranding "with" at the end gives me a chewing tinfoil feeling, YMMV), but I gotta wonder if the IQ is aware that the words are spoken aloud and *in front of a bunch of people*!!

I've done the templars twice, but once I had to go back to a previous save and take the mage quest. It just wasn't working for me, and I missed all the Dorian scenes. I absolutely love traveling with him in time, and fighting together to restore the world. I played a fem!IQ the first game, and when I met Dorian, that was pretty much it. We were best friends from that very moment.
To be honest, Dorian pretty much had me from the moment we met in the Chantry, what with his fighting off the demons, cavalier attitude and his banter.
Dorian: "Fascinating. How does that work, exactly?"
My IQ: .....my god look at his profile...what was he asking me?
Dorian: "You don't even know, do you? You just wiggle your fingers, and boom! Rift closes."
