(And to be honest, why on earth would the devs care if people here see them as biased? People here are insane, about everything.)

im insane about tacos

anyway, i see his character as one who hates what tevinter has become, but i wouldnt be surprised if he was the opposite, likes tevinter but left cause he understands that s*** falling from the sky is a bad thing

I would think that if DA:I were going to introduce a "good" Tevinter character, it would be for a whole bunch of other narrative reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with fans ranting on the BSN. That's making a bold claim about how companions are decided, if the suggestion is that DHMG is basically a reaction to stuff that fans have said.

They care about presenting a compelling and difficult choice, which is subverted if people aren't convinced by what's supposed to be exhibit A for Why Mages Need To Be Locked Up.

I think they probably just added a Tevinter character to assist the Venatori plot they're doing, whatever it is. It appeared in photos from some time ago that they were adding quite a few Tevinter based enemies. I think they basically just pick reps for all the factions we'll be dealing with to act as a sounding board for perspective and also for exposition purposes.

Yup. The Venatori, plus whatever that big guy was in the trailer that has a Tevinter emblem on his armor.

I think that guy in the trailer is a Venatori elite/boss.

It's a Latin word meaning "hunters".

As elu said, it's a Latin word, not necessirily related to Italian (I never heard it).
Why the sad face though?

I think it's the same in Italian and Spanish.

Edit:

Italian: Venatorio

Spanish: Venatores

It might just be the VA of Ezio, but listening to him was like sandpapers to my ears.

Must. Resist. Urge. To. Strangle.

Ezio was so effin' hot though lol. How could you not love that Italian accent?

Personally, I wouldn't mind either an Italian or Spanish accent. I still think it's pretty likely he'll just be British, though. Which is also fine with me.

I'd love for Dorian to have an Italian accent

Though I searched it, and the hunting season is 'stagione venatoria'. But it's not very common, and it's due to our relationship with Latin.
I doubt the devs were referring to Italians instead of Latin. As I said, it's not very common.

In Italian Venatorio means Hunting. Venatori: The hunter. That's what the dictionaries tell me at least.

I played the game in Italian, so I wouldn't know how good/bad is accent is. I'll search a video.

They might be old words for hunting and hunters (when the relationship with Latin was stronger), but i can assure you that we're using for decades the terms 'caccia' and 'cacciatore'. I've never heard or read anyone refer to an hunter as 'venatori'.

I knoooow people love it, and him... But I just, I don't know. I liked his father's VA though, so I suppose it was just Ezio's VA.

Tevinter is very Roman (except when it's Byzantine) and many of the Tevinter characters we've met have pseudo-Latin names, or actual Latin names, so I think the reference is meant to be Latin for the Venatori. (They also have enemy types called 'Gladiators', to hammer that point home a bit :P)

If we take Dorian as a given, his surname is real Latin, and interestingly his first name is related to ancient Greece.

I'm not really sure how likely an Italian accent is though, considering that none of the nations in Thedas have been shown with them. It could be a regional Antivan accent, but they already seemed to make "Antivan" into Spanish.

Yeah, but since we don't know how the Roman's sounded like, I sort of thought if they wanted to go that route, it would be close to Italian. But then, personally I think it crashes with the image of Tevinters, Italian is a bit "upbeat", and when not, "sensual."

Man, why am I here, I should not Speculate on these things because I'll just go around in circles and get more confused. I'm plenty confused already.

We may not know what the Romans sounded like, but we do know what Latin sounds like, because the church kept it alive. But I don't think there is latin accent, because it's not a first language.

Romanian would be the closest accent we have to a Roman one.  Of all of the languages, Romanian is the closest to classical Latin rather than Church Latin in terms of vocabulary and structure.  It would actually be a very interesting accent to hear.
