I did/do play Destiny on PS4, so in that regard, I didn't mind timed exclusives. Of course not, who wouldn't? Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo.

The worst part of that deal isn't even about weapons. The thing that really stinks is when they make strikes/missions exclusives. Like The Undying Mind strike. It's the best strike of the game, but a big chunk of players have to wait a very long time to even try it. 
 
But with DAI, waa. I feel the pain, but even more so, because it's story content we're missing out on, which is something Destiny doesn't actually have. (Destiny. Story. Hahaha.)

 
Back on topic... I was hoping to finish up, or at least get close to finishing up, my m!Adaar/Dorian playthrough last night, but didn't get to. That DAI patch was 1.6GB on PS4, which is murder on my crappy net connection. I started the download right when I got home from work around 5, and it was still going when I went to bed, after midnight. I just wanted some Dorian.

Took me about an hour and 15 minutes.  I had to watch actual TV.  The thing is that if it would have gone longer I would have been forced to watch Dancing with the Stars and I do not want to get sucked back into that again.  Even though there is glitter and sparkle (two things I have a weakness for).  So I'm glad it finished up right as Wheel of Fortune ended. 

 

Yeah I've got an exciting life.  LOL.

But it was one of the four guards who talk about the Herald as you go by. One of them said "I heard they found the kifeear covered in the Divine's blood" which just struck me as being about one of the worst things he could have said. Like it's not even sort of true and it's done in an offensive way. Made me sad

The ones in DAO are actually pretty hilarious. But I agree, the lines directed at the elven Inquisitor made me kinda sad as well.

Yep those were the people. Damn them QQ. I'm like "he's standing right there! Like he could totally just stab you right now and there wouldn't be anything you could do about it."

 

I remember the Winter Palace ones, but they didn't really bother me. I think I might have (without realizing it) kept myself more detached from my last elf because I was having her do the Solas romance and I probably wanted to minimize the hurt... not that it helped at all

If anyone is worried that Dorian won't have dialogue or anything in the DLC due to David Gaider leaving, I'm preeeety sure that the writing for the DLC was completed way before he left.

 

They have to have time to do all the cinematics and VA, so I'm sure that they have been working on this thing for quite some time. 

 

Correct.  Assuming BW uses a typical development pipeline (similar to the studio here), the writers and story boards for the base game would have been at the top of the to-do list and finished months to years prior to release.  Along with concept design.  Then the physical work to create environments, characters, animations, programming, voice acting. Months and months of work to do that doesn't involve the writers directly except as a story oversight and an "edit as necessary" basis.  Because there are meetings. Everyone must suffer the meetings as a universal law.

Meanwhile the writers aren't twiddling their thumbs.  They are writing and working the DLC pipeline until the VA's arrive.  During that time the writers fairly involved in improvements tailored to that actor's strengths and how he/she identifies with their character.  There's still tons of work after the VA's are done.  So again the writers are keeping busy doing something besides shooting nerf rockets at each other.

So it's not even on my horizon that there isn't a draft completed for all the proposed DLC's at this point.

Val Royeaux: if Cards Against Humanity was a city.

Granted, it isn't as bad with Inquisitor Cadash. But being a member of the Dwarven mafia might give people pause. Come to think of it, Dorian is one of the few people in the party who doesn't judge Cadash's previous career.

Hey everyone, I am seeking help with Dorian's romance, as I think I might have a bug or glitch. I posted this in the Quest help to, but I feel like I'll get more support here!

 

I completed the "Last Resort of Good Men" quest a little while ago, and chose the flirtatious options, but I didn't receive a kiss, which I've heard is supposed to happen around then. Then I tried to begin a romance with him, with the "We Need to Talk" option (where it says "This will begin a romance with Dorian" above it), and the dialogue played normally, and gave me the confirmation option. He says some stuff, "Don't say I didn't warn you," and whatnot, and so I thought the romance had activated (I'd already gotten the achievement from a previous playthrough after romancing the Iron Bull). So, I just tried talking to him again, and its still giving me the same romance initiation options, as if I hadn't started it yet... Did I miss my window or mess something up along the way? Any help would be appreciated!

try to get his freindship up higher and see if you get his romance quest (it involves a locket).  Other that I'm afraid I have no useful advice.  I'm sure others here may have more experience on this issue though.   My only issue ever was my first playthrough where I never got Dorian's quest "Last Resort of Good Men".  Good luck!

Hmm... I don't think I have anything really helpful to add but this is my though; go down the steps near Dorian to Solas' room and see if there is an inquisition messenger there. If there is one talk to her it should pop up a letter from Leilanna about Dorian's amulet and you can start that (you can talk to Dorian about it or just go to Val Royeux, you can also take Dorian with you if you want).

 

If the messenger isn't there I'd wonder if you killed any of the Venitori with him/did any of his wartable missions? Also did you do mages or templars? Things happen much quicker with the need to do less of his other stuff if you go mages whereas things can sometime get a bit wonky on a Templar run.

Dorian-romance has turned out to be my fave from all M/M-romances in DA, just because it is so beautifully written and voice-actors do brilliant job. It is pathetic how many times I have seen it. I know myself, and had brains enough to record it for myself...for the second time:

 

 

(has someone braked up with Dorian? If you did, how did you survive the emotional torture, quilt and suffering after that? I can't do it, not even to test what happens)

I can't even  - even when I had my IQ romance Dour McSerious Blackwall I didn't have her break up with him after getting him out of jail.  Maybe I'm a romantic at heart but I never break up with anyone in the games. Why would you want to break up with Dorian?  He's the bees knees. And he has good hair in a time when there are no styling products.

 

If I'm a romantic does that make me...Cassandra?

Yeah, I couldn't even imagine breaking up with Dorian, even just to see what happens. I also stayed with Blackwall through that whole mess. Ugh. I just... I just can't do it. I can't break up with them.

 

What's worse is that my stupid Lavellan stuck with Solas through THAT whole debacle. All teary-eyed, pathetic, and everything. I just HAD to finish that playthrough, and delete all saved games and screenshots, to call it done and purge the madness out of my life. I was so angry with him that I didn't even talk to him or bring him along, in my other playthroughs.
