Dorian should not be the Red Viper what with the skull crushing and whatnot.  As it is I nearly lost my ish when that happened (and I knew it was coming but still.. I think I felt phantom sympathy pain when the Mountain did that).  He was so darn likeable.  Also OMG WE'VE FINALLY MADE IT TO ANOTHER SEASON OF GAME OF THRONES.   My inner nerd just tinkled a little.

It pays not to kill Corypheus off too quickly either or you don't get his trolling of Dorian.    I noticed it was absent from one of my recent runs with my Knight Enchanter and realised that was the reason.   I was a level 23 dragon slayer so Cory stood no chance.   I was so enjoying going toe to toe with him and thwacking him with my spirit sword that it was only after he left the field for his dragon that I thought about the fact that Dorian was with me but he had said nothing to him.    I love that exchange between Corypheus and Dorian.

Lol! Dorian as the Red Viper doesn't mean he gets his skull crushed xD And he would burn the Mountain's face before he can do anything, anyways  :P And yes, I can't wait to start watching the new season of GoT, lol!!  :)

We need some art of Viper Dorian with Vivienne. The voice actor for Vivienne is the same person that plays the Red Vipers girl friend in Game of Thrones.

OMG! I always wondered why this never happens but now that you mention it... I am always super geared and way over leveled when I do that fight so I am probably killing him too quick too. Dash it all.

Dang, I didn't even know there was an exchange... But that fight was bugged stupid for me anyway - I had the 'you hit Corphy so hard he doesn't want to play with you anymore' issue and had to reload. If I ever manage to not get bored before reaching the final mission again I'll have to listen for dialog.

Speaking of boredom, dialog and Dorian... :P I seem to have been lucky with the banter lately, or at least with one-liners. Are there some factors that decide which characters get priority when responding to things, or do they have set encounters particular ones always respond to? Example - I took a character to the Exalted Planes for the first time, and right at the start you get attacked by some Freemen, on which the Inquisitor comments, and I had Dorian reply (can't really remember the exchange itself). I'm wondering if it's just Dorian's line, or would someone else have said something if he wasn't there, and why it was him that spoke this time, if so.

Either way, I like it because it strengthens the feeling that the Inquisitor and Dorian are closer with each other than with the other party members, sharing opinions between the two of them like that.

Too bad I kind of hate that Inquisitor... He's a generic bore that I would have deleted a long time ago if not for the fact that his was the only Skyhold savefile in which I have already completed the Hinterlands. Remember kids - you can have the most forgettable face and the personality of a toilet paper roll, but you will still be seen as a desirable marvel as long as you have completed your Hinterlands!

What does Corypheus say to Dorian? I don't think I've ever gotten it either. Off the top of my head, I've only ever got him talking to Sera, Vivienne, and Cole. But I also tend to kill him in a matter of seconds as well, with the exception of the time I played a S&S warrior. Then it took ages and was actually difficult.

Yea xD, it's funny that Indira Varma (voice of Vivienne), was Red Viper's lover and also Ramon Tikaram's lover in 'Kama Sutra, a Tale of Love'. I find these connections amazing. And even if i don't like Vivienne much as a character, I'm considering bringing her with Dorian sometime just because of that.  :)

Iirc it's the freemen who attack you and say to stay away from the Ramparts, and the Inquisitor says something about wondering why they don't want us to go on the ramparts and Dorian replies something about always being bad at doing what other people want him to do. I feel pretty sure someone else will remark on it if Dorian isn't there, but I don't know because I always take Dorian and he has always said it.

Oh! Also this PT is the first time I have gotten the Spat between Dorian and Gatt on IB's quest. Usually I always get Solas talking there but this time it was Dorian and was awesome. I have no idea how I got Dorian to talk though, Solas was there so it is odd.

I always take Dorian and Solas on the IB quest and they both give Gatt an earful.   It is interesting though how IB lets the Inquisitor deal with Dorian but deals with Solas himself.   I find Dorian's indignation a bit amusing and can't help pointing out that neither side is perfect, even though I can't stand the Qun personally.   It was definitely a case of "the enemy of my enemy" when it came to working with them and there was no way I was sacrificing the chargers; the red lyrium threat had been dealt with and that was it so far as I was concerned.

I've decided the reason some companions aren't talking is that Cassandra takes precedence in the pecking order.    So until her exchanges with Cole are complete, I won't get the ones from Cole with Dorian.    I've got the majority of exchanges (I think) between her and Dorian, which is why the three of us seem such a team because there seems a regular dialogue going on.     I like using Cassandra because Templar skills are good against demons and mages (also she gets on better with Dorian than Blackwall), so I tend to ring the changes on the 4th member of the team and I've noticed how it is always Cassandra who monopolises the conversation with them.   Vivienne and Dorian chat a fair bit but that is probably because they are both mages.   I get a similar amount of dialogue between Dorian and Solas.    It is the other classes that seem left out when it comes to chat with anyone other than Cassandra.      It is getting better in JoH though; I've just got the dialogue between Dorian and Sera when he swears in Tevinter and she asks what it means; she has been a pretty regular rogue member of the team on this run and yet it has taken until Level 24 to get this dialogue.

Dorian and Viv have a few really interesting banters.. especially once Viv gets over hating him for being from Tevinter.

Once again I abandoned a female Inquisitor to make another male one to romance Dorian. No regrets.

I've been reflecting on what it is I like about Dorian's character as opposed to just his looks and it struck me that one of the things I admire about him is his honesty.   Not only does he refuse to conform to his own society if it means he is living a lie but he's not afraid to speak his mind even if it seems a bit insensitive to the hearer or inexpedient to do so.    For example, when he gives his views on slavery to an elven Inquisitor, he must be aware how it would go down, but it is what he truly believes so he says it.

When I contrast it with the amount of deception not just in other companions but in the reaction of certain ex-Chantry representatives to telling the truth about what is going on, Dorian is a refreshing change.    Cassandra on the whole seems to want to be truthful, although she didn't seem bothered about perpetuating popular belief about who was behind you in the Fade.     Mother Giselle is happy to continue the deception even after Into the Abyss.    As for Leliana, I know she is a spy master and ex-Bard but the number of times she comes up with a solution the War Table that favours deception over the truth, which is particularly disturbing if JoH takes place when she is already Divine Elect.  Strangely enough one of the few times she is against such tactics is when confronting that Tevinter altus family about their connection to Corypheus.   Josephine is only marginally better in that she uses bribes rather than threats to supress the truth.    Only the blunt and straight forward soldier that is Cullen seems to object to such tactics.

So I can really see my Lavellan in his relationship with Dorian being grateful for being able to go back and talk with someone who tells it as it is.   Dorian wants his countrymen to acknowledge the truth about their past.   I'm pretty sure he'll back my Inquisitor all the way in wanting the Chantry to do the same, particularly as I'm sure there are more revelations about Andraste to come.     He also wants the Dalish to confront the truth about the ancient elves as well.    Whilst it might seem a bit selfish asking Dorian to stay with him, I'm pretty sure Dorian appreciates why my Lavellan "needs" him, quite apart from the emotional and physical ones.

It almost looks like Dorian's wearing a robe or dressing gown:

Dorian: Its a rather poor design choice not to give the Inquisitor his own privy.

Inquisitor: At least I don't scandalize the night watch when nature calls.

Dorian: You southerners are such prudes. Public nudity and awkward statuary of our ancestors are the cornerstones of Tevinter culture.

Inquisitor: I thought fine wines and a penchant for melodrama were the cornerstones of Tevinter culture?

Dorian: Indecisivenes may be one as well, I never was much one for sociology.

Hello,Dorian fans!I would appreciate your help here. :-)

I'm currently on my third playthrough and I'm trying to put Dorian and Iron Bull together again, but I'm afraid that there might be a problem this time around(I had no problems during my previous playthroughs).I seem to have exhausted all banter dialogue that Iron Bull and Dorian share, except the flirty parts and now they know longer share banter when I bring them into my team.Must I advance the main campaign in order to get the banter that's necessary to unlock the romance?Note that I only recently moved to Skyhold and that I've just finished Crestwood, but my Inquisitor is in a relationship with Cullen and I've finished both Iron Bull and Dorian's personal quests.Thank you,in-advance!

Dorian and Cole FINALLY started talking today \o/ I got like five of their banters in a row, I'm so happy :D

@Psylogue I've never done the whole getting IB and Dorian together thing so I could be mistaken, but I do think you need to advance the main story a little to get beyond where you are currently with them.

Thanks! The thing is,I got the banter in which they discussed having had sex together before the assault on Adamant-if I'm not mistaken-during my second playthrough. :/ Do you know whether patch 5 and 6 have overhauled the banter system again?Or maybe I just lucked out and my current playthrough is bugged?

I'm almost done with my current PT.  I gotta say my Qunari romancing Sera is just not doing it for me. I like her but she is still kind of a brat and I dunno.. not adulty enough?  Not that it is bad, it just doesn't bring me the enjoyment of Dorian or Cullen.  Dorian did have a banter with Sera about their relationship though.  He used the word paramour and Sera was all WTF is that stop using big words!

The whole "Stop saying tool!" Banter is one of my favorite banters in the whole game. Eevery time I hear it I start giggling.

I had similar issues with my Qunari and Sera. Like there was nothing really "wrong" with any of it... I just had a hard time caring about it much. Which made me sad because I specifically made her a Rift Mage because I thought it would be amussing, and I ended up being "meh" about it.

My husband romanced Sera with his female Qunari. And he thought the romance was OMG TEH AWESOME. He saved some videos of it, and keeps harassing me to do a Sera/f!Adaar run, so he can show me his videos without spoilering, but I...I just can't do it.   I luv her as a friend, but I don't really wanna see her nekkid! Because yeah, she seems a little more immature than I'd like a paramour to be.

I haven't romanced any of the female characters at all. I don't know if I will. ;)

I might make a go of Cass or Josie. But if I take the time to roll another bro he's probably gonna get all the Dorian loving because it seems to be a more fleshed out romance arc. And if I do another female I'm sure I will romance Cullen.  The Cullenmance is just easy from a straight romantic relationship perspective.

Also, when I say "adulty", I meant that from a grown up perspective.  Sera just has a lot of child like qualities which makes romancing her a little...weird to me as a person who came to terms with being a grown ass adult almost 20 years ago. I guess a game needs a manic pixie dream elf action now and again.
