Ugh, if he's like Doc, Team Benchwarmer for him.  I disliked Doc so much that I re-rolled my Jedi as a male.

I would love for him to be a Paladin or Cleric type, but with more focus on magic/healing than combat skills. That could totally work. I really want an Arcane warrior companion, but we don't have a healer companion yet either so I feel like any mage we get will just be that. Something new and different though would be awesome.

They've said we can supposedly spec our companions however we want...so I'm unsure if companions will have their own unique specializations again.

Nope, I just re-rolled.  You can't kill him anyhow, as much as I wanted to.  I did want to have my Dark V Sith Warrior have a little "chat" with him though.

I hope they do.  It added some little bits of flavor to the companions for me

I hope they still have unique specializations again, that was one of things I really liked in DA2

I do as well...but I wonder what Viv's would be. Fashion?

For some reason I feel like for her magic to be unique, her specialization is tied into more of her background, which we have yet to encounter.

Probably some sort of "First Enchanter" type spec ala Merrill's "Dalish Pariah" spec.  What that would entail, I'm not sure.  Anyhow, we should probably get back to talking about "Dorian."  Sorry, but DHMG doesn't really roll off the tongue well and he seems to be the most likely candidate for that companion.  All future posts about him I'll be calling him Dorian.  Fan nickname or not, I think it suits the images of him.

Wuuuuuh, I know this is off-topic for this thread, but I completed my (female) Jedi Knight playthrough and never ever noticed that happening. I just googled it and couldn't find anything, either. Are you sure? How could I miss something like that!

 

As for DHMG, I'm going to weigh in and say I think he's a mage, too. And I think this because the concept of the Dorian character has been my most favoritest since I read about him. I know, not a good idea to cling to an idea that could very well have been scrapped long ago. So I think DHMG is Dorian. Because I want him to be.
