Although I wonder what happens with the time rifts around Redcliffe?
If we aren't there to be affected by them, do they still distort time? (i.e. "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?")

This is too deep a thought for this early on a Tuesday morning. LOL.
Well, for the thing with Cass' book-quest... I recently got Dorian walking by (can't remember who was the first one to walk by in a previous run^^) and I assumed it was because I romanced him... Well, maybe it's random and there's really no order to it. Or perhaps it's tied to how high the approval is? Because in my last PT I didn't get the book-scene until pretty late (I kinda racked up disapproval with Cass^^)... Those are my thoughts so far on that^^
As for which quest to do, Hushed Whispers or Champions of the Just... With my previous Quizzies (who were all mages) I went to the Templars... I know, blasphemous, right? But I was usually roleplaying someone who was willing to forgive the Templars their treatment and start over. If a mage went to get the Templars, it showed a willingness to forgive and work to make things better for everyone involved. At least for me.
Siding with the mages (particularly with a mage) always felt... biased. Like I was doing it because I had to. Because they are mages just like my Quizzie. It felt prejudiced. To me at least. So I went for the Templars instead. Also because I had no idea what was happening at the final battle and I figured a few extra swords couldn't hurt^^
With my latest char (male human Archer) I went to get the mages since I argued that he'd have no clue about magic and would want someone on his side that knew what was happening. Also, I didn't have the prejudice-thing to deal with there^^ And because I got Dorian earlier and I wanted to get him as early as possible so I could finally have a mage in my party that was not completely annoying to me^^ I plan to start the PT with the male archer again though (I put a safe-point pretty early and its still there *gg*) and go for the Templars with him. Just to see how that would feel *gg*
Anyway, those were my reasons. Keep in mind that those were MY PERSONAL reasons for playing a particular way and that it does not reflect on my views on mages vs. templars. Personally I think that both sides screwed up royally in this conflict and that both sides have a strong point. And I know a thing or two about impossible conflicts (in Germany the railway companies are on strike for the whole week, including the shipping of goods *grr* Its the 8th time this year alone and neither side is willing to give in^^ I expect half the country to be starving by Saturday
)
Okay those were my two-cents for the day, I guess^^

I didn't want to romance anyone my first playthrough, but I figured I'd pick someone anyway so Blackwall happened. And then his quest happened.
Never again.
Yea... it's funny I originally planned on going for Blackwall but he was sooo bland in the beginning and I was charmed by Cullen's early flirts. And then I got Blackwalls quest and I can't even consider romancing him now. Which is funny because I generally really like redemption storylines... but not him. I feel like there is no real redemption possible for him.
Huh. Curious. I wonder what the trigger is, then? *makes a note to check the game resource files*
If you figure it out let me know. Over my five PTs I haven't been able to figure it out. I do think there are multiple factors which go into it though. One which I think has some influence is how soon after arriving at Skyhold you trigger this scene with Cassandra. Like if it happens later it allows more factors to play into it.
Oh and I meant to link this from Merwild

I'm not usually into seeing other people's IQs with Dorian (not a 'jealousy' thing, it just seems odd) but... the background image in the tumblr is just revealing enough (mostly hidden by other page elements) to be incredibly hot.

Ditto on all counts ![]()
After my somewhat unhealthy response* to discovering that MY Fenris was dating/boinking Isabela (nevermind I was romancing Anders this particular PT), I'm not sure I ever want to hear Dorian and Iron Bull discussing their relationship. While I am quite happy to share Dorian with you lovely people, in game he's mine mine mine!!!

*(I really do owe Isabela an apology for the horrible things I said about her, her parentage, her outfit and her hygiene...."Disease-ridden ho-bag" may or may not have slipped out at some point)

I'm trying to play a character that really doesn't give a damn about the mages or templars. Which puts me in a situation on who he is going to end up siding with when the time comes. I was thinking the Templars because he used to live his life before the conclave surrounded by templars (considering his families connections) but I also want him to romance Dorian.
It is still possible to romance Dorian even if you go down that path, right?

Yes, you can romance Dorian even if you go Templars
You'll just have to do some of his personal quest and war table missions (and talk to him) before Last Resort of Good Men triggers. It basically just slows things down a little bit, which is sort of good because it's SUPER easy to blow through pretty much all of his romance content super quickly ><

^This. I'm happy I never had bull in my party so it never happened in my game (I don't even want to hear any of those banters), I dislike it and I'm not even recruiting bull anymore just because of that. For me, the only real relationship in game is Dorian with Inquisitor. Period.
Now we can say Dorian's birthdate is 100% confirmed, there is screenshot xD. And the name of Dorian's mother is Aquinea Thalrassian, not Aquirtea:

Spreading out the romance at bit more is another reason for going Templar. Once they sorted out the bug, it stacks up pretty quick if you've taken mages path. I'm also savouring this Templar run more because the last time I wasn't sure if the bug had been sorted out, so I ran round doing everything I possibly could to get his approval up to make sure it was working because I didn't want to do quests like Wicked Hearts if his romance hadn't triggered.
This time I can be a bit more relaxed about things since I also did Champions much earlier this run, as I wanted to leave as many areas as possible to do with Dorian and Cole just in case some are better at triggering dialogue than others.
The reason the Cole book thing surprised me is that this is the first time that Dorian hasn't been the one to walk by. I've had a girl romancing Solas, Dorian on Templars run, Dorian on mages run, male mage who flirted with Dorian but romanced Cass and always it is Dorian who turns up. However, each time it would have been with Dorian on a higher approval rating than he must currently be. To be honest I was quite surprised to get the Cass scene so early as I thought my approval would have been pretty low after conscripting the Templars. May be it is just a random thing and previous runs I just hit lucky; it is sweet to think Cass is reading to Cole but I just love Dorian's line and the casual way he strolls past, as though he hasn't been following me around (I've usually only just left him back at his normal lurking point in the rotunda).
Thought I'd also mention that in that dialogue Nightscrawl posted for Dorian I noticed there is one where he is discussing their family connection with a Trevelyan and the Quizzy can say he doesn't care about bloodlines and Dorian replies that his mother had better not hear that or it would give her the vapours. I recall there was a discussion several dozen pages back about whether his mother would have been party to the blood magic ritual idea or not. It seems from that comment that if she had been consulted, she certainly wouldn't have objected. Keeping the bloodline going would seem to be very important to her.

Aww but Bull is quite fun to talk to! Also I only just discovered on my 5th PT that by picking the "what can I use the chargers for" with Krem you get wartable missions for them >< Somehow I had neglected doing that and normally I pick all the things (except the break-up things).

Thank goodness he's 30, although it's a shame his family (and Tevinter custom) still expects him to fulfill their wishes.
