Ooh, that one is niiiiiice! ![]()
I finished my second Dorian-mance (except for JoH) and decided to go for the "emotional blackmail" choice after getting back from Arbor Wilds. Then I did some experimenting (for science, ofc
) on dialogue with and without talking to him at the party.
Edit: I've decided that "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol is my official Dorian-mance theme song. ![]()

All these awesome pictures
Ahem, I'll stop gushing now... Okay, maybe in a minute^^
.
.
.
Okay, enough's enough... I actually wanted to ask a quick question... See, I went back on one of my old saves with my male archer, to game through the Dorian Romance again, but using different allies this time (mainly I allied with the Templars this time), so I had Dorian show up at Haven... Naturally all his romance scenes and conversations are at Skyhold. Now here's the thing: I think my romance with him may be bugged, since I did all his quests (including 'Last Resort of Good Men') before going to Adamant. In the previous run, after Adamant (and Dorian's sweet little scene afterwards), when I went to my Quarters, THE scene triggered.
Only this time, it didn't... I'm running out of conversation options with the guy and I was wondering when (if any of you picked the Templars and romanced Dorian later) the scene is supposed to trigger... The messenger with his romance quest showed up as well, but I want to hold off with that until I've had THAT scene^^
Maybe the game doesn't like it when I go back to old saves and game through with the same char again... Anyway, does anybody have advice on this? Should I proceed with 'Wicked Eyes' next and hope for the best? When did the sex-scene trigger for you guys (or gals)?
Okay, that's my two-cents for the day, I guess... I'll now go and gush over our handsome Tevinter Mage a bit more *gg*

Durian Peacock's sex scene typically triggers after you give him the amulet. I'm currently playing pro-templar this round and so yeah.

Inquisitor: Why are you wearing Morrigan's outfit?
Dorian: Ask me no questions Amatus, and I shall tell you no lies.
Latter that day he was eaten by a dragon.

Oh...Oh sweet bae.
Those eyes...just rip my heart out why don't you.
Dorian is one of the more sensitive and compassionate characters in the game. He's quite vulnerable, but wraps it all up in this blanket of faux narcissism he created to mask his depression. Like you said, the scene is a game mechanic, but it's also a game mechanic to choose to keep Cole or Dorian once in Skyhold. If you lose one, you still have someone who is considerate. I guess you can draw all sorts of conclusions, but Dorian, out of all the characters if you play as a Dalish elf is the only one to apologise for human behaviour against elves and admits to human privilege. All the other characters seem to dismiss your heritage, but only Dorian (and Josie!) seems to understand it's potential significant value. He's concerned with injustice and pain regardless of who that person is because he has empathy which extends beyond what 'should' concern him, whereas most companions only seem to be empathetic when it benefits them (Sera is notorious for this).
