I've been saying that the Last Supper arrangement was just to get them all together in a cool looking shot for weeks, but no one listens.
Yeah, I think people are reading WAY too much into this biblical stuff. I didn't even go there until I saw people here talking about it. I don't think that the purpose of that shot was to imply that the characters would be somehow related to biblical characters who were in the same position in an painting. They just needed a way to show all 13 characters and that's one way to do it.
Fair enough, though I don't think anyone here is blindly believing that the characters will be based on the apostles.I don't really like any situation where speculation runs off into the sunset cackling wildly with no basis in reality - more so when people are inclined to actually believe it.
I think the purpose of the shot was to incite discussions, even about the LS comparison. I doubt they put the characters in those position without thinking (unless the accurate comparisons are all caused by sheer luck).Yeah, I think people are reading WAY too much into this biblical stuff. It's also possible to use the artistic style of the painting as inspiration, while taking nothing from the mythology or context behind it.
(As in, that particular piece is noteworthy for da Vinci's use of perspective, and it's one of the most famous paintings in the world - using it as a model for a group shot doesn't have to imply much else.)
Expecting the companions to be like their namesakes in the original painting is still silly.
Bah! He is magister Dorian Pavus. C'est la vie.
Bah! He is magister Dorian Pavus. S'est la vie.
Do you have a link to new information?

I don't speak French, but I think you mean c'est la vie?

Ma cherie it it obvious- we even have his description.
"Dorian - Dorian Pavus is a Tevinter magister. The title conjures fear
of arcane master who once enslaved nations. Dorian may wield the power
of the magisters, but he delights in not being what you would expect.
Brazen and clever, this outcast is on a crusade to rid his homeland of
its corruption."
And I'm not saying that the companions will be like their namesakes. I said the opposite. I'm just stating that they intentionally places some characters intentionally in certain positions, to incite discussions. It's also possible to use the artistic style of the painting as inspiration, while taking nothing from the mythology or context behind it.

You'd have to be a serious art and religion nerd to see those connections. I'm pretty sure that BioWare did not expect us to go full Da VInci Code on their trailer.

I think actually one person (the journalist of that site) did. I never read those comparisons before (other than the panic for the Judas one). Though you made a good point about knowing those facts.
Or maybe it is like the Da Vinci Code, and following the obscure clues hidden within the trailer will lead us to a secret location where free advance copies of Inquisition await us.
Or some other treasure, like a real eluvian that will take us to real Thedas.

Lol, is that real? Because I will totally buy it just for the badge.
... Assuming it comes with all the same digital content.

Yes, I think you're right! It looks stylised, but the collar is very DHMG. Maybe early concept art?

It's real - and it comes with the Deluxe Edition/Flames of the Inquisition content.

You mean DAI will include a horse chase through Val Royeaux that will completely ignore the actual geography of the place as depicted on the accompanying map?
I meant to say the former, not the latter.Lol, is that real? Because I will totally buy it just for the badge.

I wish we could buy the tarot cards separately. I know a couple people that would love them as gifts.
