Sounds like the "poison" affects synthetics also, so my original post on pg1 was incorrect.
Shows how often I play the Cabal. Should get on that....

I believe Ziegrif made that video with the jav.
In my experience though, there is a similar glitch with the geth scanner and BF combination. I played a few matches last week on White/Hazard and Ghost/Hazard where it was pretty obvious. This was on PC.
Interesting. I've never noticed it with Geth Scanner before but it wouldn't surprise me.
cabal takes time to get used to. when i first got her i had trouble trying to figure out how i wanted to spec her and what playstyle i wanted to do. i end up playing her as a sort of 'hit and run' style using poison strike into a group of enemies. then i'll either turn around to fire blades or move onto another group of enemies and pretty much repeat. biotic focus fully specced is a great help too for movement speed/melee/damage reduction and i have her weapon damage up fully specced as well. as for weapons, i like taking the executioner pistol with her and it works pretty well for me.

The Scanner + Focus actually does work in a subtler way.
The Biotic Focus actually enhances the Scanners range as you see the black outlines more clearly and from a farther range.
So yes. In a way Geth Scanner or no you can have one of the best Wallhacks in the game with the Cabal.
Kinda silly.

this is mine
I made her a wall hax sniper primarily, with the option for some through walls melee ambushes
equip Geth Scanner and melee away. It's VERY satisfying.
Other than that people here went on quite long rants about the bugginess of the character.
4/6/6/6/4 + Venom* + Blades for CC. Stagger everything. Spam BF for reload cancel & iframes.
*you can take Talon/Hurricane secondary for boss units.

Her melee can lock target through walls. Equip the geth scanner and be amazed.
Did not know that....thank you, I absolutely need to try this. I like the Cabal a lot and usually run her with Shock Trooper or Grenade Cap, but this looks like it might be even more fun.
Bunky made some interesting notes in his youtube guide
Most notably: the PS range evolution does NOT seem to extend the damage range, only the distance traveled. Also, the damage is most reliable on targets in the first 7m in the charge in a 2.5m radius
I also like the wraith on this character, but the piranha is also good due to the cabal's ability to close the gap quickly. The melee through walls is cool too ![]()
she's my all-time favourite kit, so she's responsible for eating up my UUR respec cards. 4/6/6/6/4 is what I typically run with, though. I juggle the wraith, arc pistol, lancer, talon, piranha, and PPR.
After finally fooling around with 6b on biotic focus, the results were...less than satisfactory. I need my barriers
I usually do 4 (range) in PS, 4 in NB just to have a few to stagger with.... BF gets dmg reduction/melee/and the shield+iframes evo... full weapon passives, full melee in fitness.
Incin PPR on her, PS all over to keep tactical advantage... spam BioFocus to keep shields and Iframe while firing muh las0r... PS through anything that gets to close to set of FEs. Geth scanner is a must. As I melt stuff w/ PPR I try to finish off things w/ heavy melee to keep the weapon synergy active (bonus 25% to my las0r). Fun character. Fun melee kit too. PS gives crazy mobility, always stay behind... brute charges play matidor and PS thru for the FEs. Banshee headed straight at me poof on through turn and keep firing. Shooting at crabs and they start advancing and land to crab leg ya, right on through.
Once you get good at PS through walls and whatnot, can keep paces and even beat a adren AIU/Drell around the map.
I have her set up like this, as a ridiculously mobile, durable weapon platform.
I choose melee evos on BF 5 and Fitness 5 because the other evo is pointless on a character spamming BF most of the time, and so I grabbed Melee Synergy and try to keep it up by finishing off infantry, Geth Turrets/Drones, Husks and such with heavy melee. Her melee is also great for staggering infantry when BF is on cooldown.
Don't know why you're having trouble surviving. She has decent shielding to begin with, a dodge that can go through walls, and a shield boost with brief invincibility. Get the timing down on those I-frames and you can do ridiculous things like tank Praetorian haxlazors and Cerberus Turrets.
Tbh, double dashing through enemies in cqc and detonating all types of explosions is a lot of fun - and makes you valuable to any team, tech or biotic!
Love doing it with praetorians as they're just about to melee you - takes them a moment to figure out where you went.
I would be terrified of trying this off-host. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, the only things that NEED to be maxed on the Cabal are Biotic Focus and those ridiculous Turian passives. I've tried 4/4/6/6/6, 4/6/6/6/4, 6/4/6/6/4, and 3/5/6/6/6. I kinda don't like Poison Strike for anything other than mobility, so I tend to think 4/6/6/6/4 is the best.

Specifically, PS's damage radius exactly matches the travel range if you take PS down to its minimum range (so don't take the range evolution at 4 and take double dash at 6). It's 7.2 m or something like that. Personally, that's my favorite way to spec PS (again I don't like increasing the travel range to 12 or 16 m because the power fails more often then due to edge of map issues). But I still go back and forth on 6A vs. 6B on PS.

That's close to my build. I PUG a lot, and I play aggressively, so her PS frequently dumps me through walls and into trouble, or the staggers leave me mashing buttons to no effect, or the PS is not close enough and doesn't detonate the FE. And the dodge is like the Fury, sometimes it won't go thru the part of the wall I'm next to. The PS is more reliable, but at times I wonder where the hell I am afterwards (which is why I don't take range). A very fun kit, but a serious learning curve.
I actually use PS at full 6 ranks on the melee build but I didn't like her blades because of geth scanner so I skip those instead.
I've always sucked with Cabal despite loving the concept, and took her out for gold spin this evening with this VERY rough build.
Results on Reactor Hazard/Reaper were surprisingly excellent, with the short dashes on PS being used to smash my way through or out of tight spots rather than into them and Biotic Focus fuelling the close-range strategy. Synergy with a Fury player seemed to be good too.
Vancouver/Geth, though, was an unmitigated disaster. Off-host, stun-lock crippled my poor flexible turian before any PS could be executed and by then it was too late to escape the bludgeony reprisal.
I dunno if certain maps or enemy types are friendly to the kit, but it's certainly fun when it's working and it's interesting to see other builds people have been using.

Nah. I like Melee Synergy too much.
