Ok, you gotta give a little more than that.  Granted I was only able to read 5 chapters, but Celene in all of that was extremely loyal to Briala, even going so far as to refuse a marriage that would have been best for Orlais because it would have meant losing Briala as a lover, and that was something that she wasn't willing to sacrifice to Orlais when it was the only part of her life she hadn't sacrificed for Orlais.

In hindsight, the Dalish clan wasn't exactly wrong to distrust her. I'm not saying she's a villain, since I liked how Celene and Gaspard were actually three-dimensional characters who thought they were both right, but she does play the Game for keeps.

I don't think Morrigan's gonna make an appearance. If she is, it's only a fleeting glimpse probably, nothing more.

That was a single clan. To be fair, Celene isn't exactly trustworthy, which was Briala's reason for not siding with her and choosing the Eluvians for the elves, instead of Celene or Gaspard.

Not trusting Celene is completely fair. It's their reaction that ticked me off. And it show a that at least this clan isn't willing to cooperate or have a peaceful relationship with humans.
I can't say much about the relationship between Celene and Briala, but based on what wchombe said it seems they have a good relationship. Though we don't know what happens in the skip in the preview

Briala chose the Eluvians for the elves. I get the feeling she is the leader who will lead her people, given her desire to get people who will help her cause and use the civil war to get her people emancipated from their bonds, and I think she wants to help all the elves. As you can gleam from the conversation between Felassan and Briala:

 

Felassan smiled. "You prolong the fight, and in the chaos, your people work free from their bonds?"

 

"It can work, I think."

BTW I never thought Celene's hands were clean. She doesn't become empress after her family is killed by the great game and she doesn't survive as a bard without getting her hands bloody.  Just early on it was depicted as Briala was not something she would risk.

I think it was more an issue of people addressing that might be an optional path for players who favor the Chantry, rather than one that's mandated for everyone, given the Coronation artwork and the developers stating the protagonist isn't a "puppet of the church" and exists "in opposition" to the Chantry.

I did read the part where Briala was remembering her parents death and thinking it was Lady Mantilon who had sent them.  And at the time I thought there was more Celene wanted to say before she told Briala to go to the Dales when Briala jumped on Lady Mantilon sending the assassins.  That would be a reason right there I guess, curious why Celene did it, considering she later refuses to make a simple marriage that would greatly strengthen her position because it would cost her Briala.

thanks for sharing.  Not going to say I particularly like this, but it makes sense to a degree, I just don't understand the reasoning of Celene.
