Why you don't want them to be in antagonistic role?
It would be suitable if it were so though, a repeat of history so to speak.
Considering that the (if)-Elven main character is Dailsh, it's going to be fun.
Same reason you don't want all Templars set in an antagonistic role.
Seems they are going that way anyway, i merely have to watch the carnage again.
Its going to be Cerberus all over again, let me tell you.
Honestly, I hope all the Dalish in the novel aren't like the one that was recently mentioned. It would be very disappointing.
Maybe there is going to be a Dalish inner war between clans with different point-of-views in DAI, could be interesting. Especially if the news of Celene's concessions reach many ears...

I'd prefer to see the myriad of Dalish, especially followers of Vir Atish'an, the Way of Peace. I would really enjoy it if we got some more insight into that particular path.
The Clans are different, though. They aren't the same. At the very old board, Gaider said:

Than you will love this comment by Felassan:

It's more like being tired of almost every Dalish we meet being racist when the humans and dwarves are more varied I think.
got a link to said review?
Preview, not review. I'm using the one Wulfram posted out before. Here you are:

Over the cover there should be a sticker that says "Look inside".

Well the PC cannot be a Templar. Their skills can be learned but you cannot be one.
However you can be Dalish, pure Dalish.
Judging from this the chance of Templars being Antagonists is much higher than Dalish if such chance exists.
**snipping spoilers**
DUDE FIX THE DAMN SPOILER TAG
it looks like [ spoiler ] blah blah blah [ /spoiler ]

That just be their way, If so then its just going to keep being the first thing we notice of them .Gaider himself said their tolerance for humanity is a rarity.

Where do you get this ****?
._. Its like you channel insane game spirits or something.

I don't think you should worry about that. Honestly, I don't think that will be the case. The Red Templars are likely a splinter faction, and I think the schism between the general mages and templars at war is aimed more at giving the player insight into both ideologies (based on what the developers have said). Cassandra will likely be a mandatory companion, and Cullen (based on the leaked survey a while back) could also be available.
You should be able to be pro-templar. ![]()
It did earlier, not anymore. Plus, mine still ends at chapter 5.
Hmm.
Monitoring the situation closely.

Uhh? Speculation? Easier to destroy a faction player has no ties to?

The Gathering might become the Landsmeet equivalent of DA:I, at least about elf matters. Will you manage to convince the Dalish to join the war effort? Who will be your allies? Who will be your rivals? But yes, I expect some antagonistic elves in the immediate future.

Damn guess my Dalish Inquisitor like my Dalish Warden gets to be the oddball amongst the Dales

Idiocy. Bioware, in some directions, leans firmly on the side of "let those in power do whatever they damned well please to minorities who don't toe the line."

What the hell happened? To check it properly I logged out, closed Amazon and tried it again. You're right, it doesn't appear anymore. Did they put the "look inside" down? Damn, I'm so glad I wrote it down before it was too late ![]()

Or an ally, depending on how you look at it.

Honestly, I'm hoping the elven point of view doesn't get lost or marginalized in them being little more than foot-soldiers for either faction. Especially given the racial option to play as a Dalish Inquisitor.

It would suck for those that want to play an Elf because the Elven Inquisitor is required to be Dalish.
I would also hate to see another Merrill situation where one Dalish character is "good" because s/he's "not like other Dalish!"
It's getting OLD seeing Dalish as mostly or all antagonistic and intolerant when humans, dwarves, city elves, and even non-Qunari grey giants have been shown to have varying degrees of kindness, tolerance, acceptance of strangers, etc. Why are Dalish constantly portrayed as mostly intolerant bigots, extreme isolationists, and/or unpleasant all across the board?

We probably shouldn't succumb to rage... just yet. But bank the flames to prepare for the possibility of April 6...
