It wouldn't be a Crucible, I think; more like finding an internal point of weakness in the qunari hierarchy. I personally like my idea where the entire Qun is a blood-magic-based hive mind, perhaps still run by the hidden spirit of Koslun.

Here's a weakness for you to consider, the rigidness of the qunari society leaves it relatively vulnerable to being over-pressured by one part of the trinity, to the point it breaks and the other two collapse in on themselves.

I didn't mean as something that you have to build, but a plot twist that would let you defeat them when you'll be annihilated otherwise. Which your idea kind of fit.
I'm not that interested at this point on how they'd develop the qunari plot. I'm interested in seeing what will happen in DAI.
As I said in another thread, I want more info about the various factions.

All this talk of a qunari invasion, it's likely the qunari could also end up being weakened when having to deal with these fade tears or even their own unrest issues brewing up.

If the Fade tears are in all Thedas and not just in certain nations, as I think it'll be.

That also works.

I figure it's never too soon to plan for the future.

And who wrote only two clans?

Who chose to portray two clans the same way instead of writing another clan, or portraying them differently to give a more balanced reference?

We could encounter two Dalish clans in DA:O. Instead of creating a third clan in DA2, BioWare chose to bring back one of the two clans we've already seen and make them exactly as friendly as the last one, only less tolerant and less kind.

Dwarves have only two kingdoms remaining, and we've only visited one so far. Instead of making it so the one city we've seen is filled with mostly all unpleasant, xenophobic, standoffish isolationists that the protagonist cannot like, BioWare chose to make the many dwarves within the one city we've seen varied, friendly, etc. If they can make many different dwarves with many different viewpoints and levels of friendliness, tolerance, acceptance of strangers, etc. They can do the same for Dalish.

Except the Dwarves don't cling to the belief they were once immortal, all had magic and supposedly had this wonderful, Utopian society and the species they were subjected by took it away from them.

There can't be an over "appeal" at their humanity when if you are human you will always be a reminder of both their enslavement and their own self destructive war that saw their second homeland destroyed.

You cannot take all the bitterness, racial superiority undertones and glaze over it with pleasantness, Well you can in part via the Individual, but not the culture, its a mixed bag of jingoism and racial self loathing. Of course as i said its up to the individual, but i don't blame Bioware for casting a blanket over the issue, When you preach hate, superiority and isolationism, don't be surprised when folks ultimately don't care about you.

Well, I have ideas for the fourth game, but the news about the book kind of made me focused on how it'll affect DAI.

Kind of amusing based on her opinion of Loghain.

I've grown increasingly sympathetic to him, although the whole slavery thing was still beyond the pale.

My opinion of him was never that bad (and I think he's an excellent written antagonist), but the slavery think was definitely my biggest problem with him. My elves always killed him.

He needed the money!

His daughter was sick and dying of Leukemia!

I mean that stupid justification worked for the Sandman going around murdering random people, why not Loghain for selling elves as slaves to the Imperium?

My Dalish is actually more sympathetic to him than my CE, under the logic of "if I'd just reclaimed my homeland from Orlais and saw it under threat, would I have been willing to go any less far to keep it safe?"

Loghain with a bead would be unstoppable. The ultimate being.

I do wish Loghain would come back, Simon had an excellent VA role in DAO and DAA :P

My Dalish wasn't. He cared too much about his fellow elves that lived in the alienage.
I'm kind of torn of what to do with my canon HN Warden, since I roleplayed a Warden that (wrongly) believe that Loghain was behind the Cousland massacre. I played both versions (killing him and falling to the desire of revenge, and sparing him and let go of revenge, plus the need of more Wardens) and I like both outcomes.

Having kept the "Masked Empire" page open on Amazon, and perusing it's pages during this discussion, the revelation made on page 365 does make me a bit hopeful that the elven plot might not be relegated to choosing between Celene or Gaspard. Which makes me a bit more optimistic than I was when I read the pages about the Dalish clan that was previously mentioned.

Spoiler

The latter seems almost certain to me.

I've been wondering that about the mage too.  But I can't seem to view any pages with him...which might be for the best.  I need more willpower, lol.

Felassan has some Dalish tatoo on his face , Bald Elf Mage doesn't.

I doubt they are the same characters , too bad that elf from the book seems fun.

So, if I'm getting this right, the reason the Pro-Dalish are upset is because the Dalish want to kill every single human in Orlais and just leave the city elves?
