Felassan has some Dalish tatoo on his face , Bald Elf Mage doesn't.

I doubt they are the same characters , too bad that elf from the book seems fun.

Wouldn't be surprised if he got the Severan treatment in the book <_<

So, if I'm getting this right, the reason the Pro-Dalish are upset is because the Dalish want to kill every single human in Orlais and just leave the city elves?

They don't actually want to kill them. They wish they kill each other in the civil war.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. They kind of wish the two Orlesian factions to kill each other, and then reclaim the Dales. They don't seem to care about what would happen to the CE.

So, what is so upsetting about it?

The Dalish have always hated humans and they have great disdain for city elves.

Where are people reading all of this anyway?

My Dalish is actually more sympathetic to him than my CE, under the logic of "if I'd just reclaimed my homeland from Orlais and saw it under threat, would I have been willing to go any less far to keep it safe?"

If I'd just reclaimed my homeland from France/Britain/Austria/Czechoslovakia and saw it under threat, would I have been willing to go any less far to keep it safe?

It was a preview on Amazon that let you read dozens of pages, with certain skips to over 300 pages in the book (well, not for me. I can't read past page 30).

That's more than me. I have an account and yet, I seem to only be able to read the scene with Celene and the university chancelier. Where are you reading all of those pages?

Click on the book's cover. It should open up a pop-up page with the preview. Or at least it was before. I don't know if it's still available.

Except the Dwarves don't cling to the belief they were once immortal, all had magic and supposedly had this wonderful, Utopian society and the species they were subjected by took it away from them.

There can't be an over "appeal" at their humanity when if you are human you will always be a reminder of both their enslavement and their own self destructive war that saw their second homeland destroyed.

You cannot take all the bitterness, racial superiority undertones and glaze over it with pleasantness, Well you can in part via the Individual, but not the culture, its a mixed bag of jingoism and racial self loathing. Of course as i said its up to the individual, but i don't blame Bioware for casting a blanket over the issue, When you preach hate, superiority and isolationism, don't be surprised when folks ultimately don't care about you.

Nah, just cling to the idea of their past supremacy to the point that most nobles, as per tradition, are completely incapable of adapting to the reality they live in now, that they are probably only a few lost battles closer to total extinction and still act as if they have an empire to fall back on.

Spoiler

Hopefully, the actions of one single clan aren't going to be the depiction for the entirety of the Dalish. From the lore about the Dalish rescuing and raising the historical Aveline as an infant to the treaty signed to aid during the Blights, it's clear the Dalish aren't all the same. It would be nice to see that more reflected with the characters in the games, however. The clans are different from one another, so I think it would be unreasonable if they were all painted in the same negative light.

Thank though it doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe it was removed?

Well, the cover still makes the motion like it's going to open. It's just that nothing appears.

I never said they weren't delusional, but they acknowledge they exist only at the behest of the surface due to the rich trade inflowing through the Human lands.

They knew who pays the bills :P

A Lesson most the elves have also learned.

Just a few holdouts.

Yeah, I read now that other people can't access it too. I guess they didn't mean to show so much?

Yeah, but unlike the elves, if the dwarves lose it will adversely affect all the other races. Nothing will stop the darkspawn from coming up, no one would be able to mine the raw lyrium ore since none of the surface races have any resistance to unprocessed lyrium, which in turn will adversely affect mages and templars, which in turn will affect global politics, if they aren't too busy killing each other to save the darkspawn the trouble.

The dwarves noble caste may be delusional, but the dwarves as a whole are the only thing keeping the surface from suffering from any number of nightmares. Directly in the case of darkspawn, and indirectly in the case of lyrium being supplied to templars and mages.

The surface pays the bills, but the dwarves keep the surface relatively peaceful. So to speak.

I don't think so. I can tell you what I personally read, though it's practically nothing compared of what was available to others.

That's likely, although the revelation made me feel a bit hopeful and positive about the elves in Inquisition. I pre-ordered the book.

"if you and Gaspard slew each other, and the war killed every human in Orlais, and burned every alinage to the ground... then we would be willing to return to the Dales".

Boy, those elves aren't very nice.
