I like leaving a lot of their stories open-ended. I don't need to have details about their lives spelled out specifically in the end. If the character lives, and rides/flies off to the credit sequence, my imagination fills the rest out pretty nicely. I will say, however, that Zaeed probably gets the best slide in the entire epilogue, in my opinion.
What do you think happens with Normandy ME3 crew/squad members after the ending

I chose Refuse so every one is Reaper goo or space dust.
I choose MEHEM/CEM
Once the Citadel is repaired, everyone has a wild party and then continues to have "one more story"

Well I suppose I only choose Refuse in the technical sense. My favorite ending, at least so far, seems to be the Marauder Shields comic but that only exists by completely supplanting whatever else happens after entering the beam.

Yeah, Marauder Shields has both the advantage and disadvantage of being in a different medium.

I'm working on a post-ending story involving about half the surviving team as we speak, which I tried and failed previously, but now have clear vision/direction and vow to see through -- don't wanna reveal fates of the main cast just yet! ![]()
Well, I'll reveal this much: I plan to ship Kaidan/Miranda, Jack/James, Joker/EDI (by default, continuation from ME3), and Javik/Liara (lol, kinda sorta). I also saw potential for Traynor/Chakwas, but lack interest in exploring that, so it stays in my dirty head.
Also, Shepard is "resurrected" in AI form, courtesy the Keiji-loophole. Whether or not it's truly him reborn in a new form or merely an imitation is open for interpretation -- both sides are argued for -- but his existence is merely a sidenote.
As to the characters I don't plan to write about...
-- Garrus goes back to Palaven, given his own squad by Primarch Victus to lead and "keep the peace" in rebuilding areas lacking law-enforcement presence. Archangel is back in business (but no longer unaccountable -- he answers to the Hierarchy).
-- Tali goes back to Rannoch, helping facilitate peaceful relations with geth.
-- Jacob settles down, as part of his ongoing endeavor to become the most boring human in the galaxy.
-- Grunt rises to prominence in the krogan military (... actually, I may write something for him; it's got potential).
-- Wrex commits his krogan to rebuilding, and eventually, innovating (along with most of the galaxy in this setting).
-- Kasumi "resurrects" Keiji (or creates a very good imitation) as an AI.
-- Samara was recently retconned out of existence in my story because she sucks.
-- I rewrote Morinth's whole character arc (starting from ME2, ofc) replacing Samara in this story. Shepard recruits her to the team without the convenient "I can turn into my mother!"-nonsense, instead employing his brilliant and highly-deceptive rhetoric like the magnificent bastard he is (in my headcanon, lol; pure canon Shepard royally sucks). While the crew is unsettled by this decision, she proves worthy and makes him proud. During the war, she's recruited by an asari Spectre, and they team up with Shepard to help save the monastery on Lesuss. Morinth's reunion with the sisters is icy, but they acquiesce to letting her save them (both survive, in this case) and shelter them on the Citadel after the mission is complete. Morinth goes on to join the fight for Earth, and survives the battle!
Sadly, Rila and Falere never forgive/accept their estranged sister for their mother's death. Morinth doesn't let this bring her down, however. She publishes an autobiographical account bringing awareness to her condition, and there's some hope that the research for a treatment or cure may bear fruit in her long remaining lifetime. Ultimately, Morinth goes on to train as an asari huntress and is respected greatly by her peers for her unmatched combat and biotic skill. Bittersweet tale.

I'm not sure I really see Garrus becoming the Primarch. For one thing, I don't think he'd want it, and unlike Victus, who was forced into it during a war, he'd probably have the time and opportunity to maneuver around being in the line of succession if it ever looked like a possibility.

funny that. I always remember back to the outcry at the end of the game... everyone figuring shep dies. I always assumed that actually it was the other way round. Shep survived (see breath scene) and the crew of the normandy were lost / died.
In the event they survived, i would like to think that they went looking for shepard. found shepard. had one hell of a party.

It seems that Joker's family never made it off Tiptree. While I am not completely certain, it appears that they were killed by an Asari Huntress being treated for PTSD in HM hospital. In the rather lengthy discussion, she mentions the farm girl she apparently killed was 15 and named Hillary; the same sort of description of Joker's sister that he gives to Liara.
Like M*A*S*H*, this really is rather depressing.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm pretty sure Garrus is chillin' on a beach with Tali and Shep is there with Miri.
**Shep turns to Garrus and say' after taking a drag from his cigar and sip from his Old Fashion, and say's-
"Damn Garrus, I almost picked the blue or green one. Really glad I didn't".
**Garrus sips more of his Turian triple distilled Scotch and say's-
"Well Shepard, indoctrination is a real b!tch. I'm glad you didn't either"
**Garrus and Shepard finish their drinks watching from a distance as Tali and Miri emerge from the ocean laughing and talking.
The camera pans up to show the sunset. And credits roll to M4 part 2 by faunts.
The End.

or maybe it's your interpretation that sucks....And the game completely sucks in that regard. They don't get the fates they deserve, and the game generally fails to tell anything substantial beyond a slide.
"the fates they deserve".....hmm seems like they ended up with the exact fates they wanted. (per their own words and choices)
"substantial"..... completely subjective on your part.

Liara is the Shadow Broker (and doesn't see herself going into civilian life)
When was T'soni in the military? She has always been a civilian.

I never said she was. And it wasn't referred to in that way either. Play the game and/or watch the conversation. Her last conversation with Shep in the Presidium Commons. In her own words....When was T'soni in the military? She has always been a civilian.

because Shep asked her if she planned on 'settling down' after the war. And that was her response. "you don't really see me going into civilian life...." (paraphrased)I heard the conversation. Why would she make that comment?
I would imagine being the leading information broker in the galaxy, isn't quite the same as the life of the average family man....or woman. She wasn't referring to it in a military/civilian contrast. She was viewing it in terms of what she does currently (super secretive/secluded life as the broker) and being an average everyday citizen.

yup and she wasn't referring to it in terms of military and civilian. She was referring to the civilian life. The life of the shadow broker doesn't equate or even compare to the life of an average citizen. You know, working 9-5, kids and a house type stuff. But you go ahead and misconstrue whatever you want. That's okay on the internetz....Doesn't matter. She's still a civilain.

Yeah, but neither Broker Life or Civilian life compare to the average life of a Soldier. Personally, I'm insulted when civilians (unless they've genuinely earned it), call others civilians.

Liara does seem like maybe she misses her academic career, though. She certainly jumps right back into "prothean researcher" mode when she meets Javik, and at the end she's apparently considering writing a book.
I suppose she could try doing that *and* still being an information broker. I guess it depends how demanding the tenure committees are in the future. ![]()
