Fascinating stuff. I didn't know about the lavellan, I just thought that Bioware had chosen a vaguely elfish sounding name. So a poisonous rodent. Maybe Bioware is trying to send us some kind of message about the Dalish Inquisitor? :D

Pretty much tells me that my Dalish Inquisitor will be a rogue assassin "Did someone order death? Oh, you shem? Sure step right up, I have some concentrated crow poison coated daggers right here with your name on them, enjoy!"

I liked Bethany because she reminded me of my younger cousin (who is like a sister to me) and our relationship. Carver reminded me of my other younger cousin who I didn't get along with as much when we were children, but now we get along alot better. Oddly enough, my two cousins are the same age and they are just about the same age difference from me that Hawke and her siblings were....

As for family in DAI, I dunno...in some ways I kinda hope that there are no family ties, but then I can't help but wonder if there might be something interesting about having family and what dynamic that could bring to choices I make. For example in DAO when I played as a mage, I had no family ties so I didn't feel obligated to help Jowan as much as I thought it was more interesting to tell Irving what his plans were. In DA2, when Bethany was in the circle, I couldn't help but to fight for the mages to keep her safe.

The fewer family members, the better. I don't like meeting people that my character is already supposed to know.

I think it would be neat if the inkossithor's parents fled the qun because they fell in love.
