Tell me about it, man when you got a quest in Morrowind it was like: "Get to Ald-Ruhn take 50 paces to the south east, and look for a tree with red flowers. Now turn to east, you should see a small rock...."
Now you've got fast travel and a marker showing the exact location where you need to go, and just the scale of MW compared to Skyrim and Oblivion, the cities, locations, customisation...I miss those times,
So, so true. Also the level scaling that you mentioned annoys me like hell in newer TES games. And spell making! How I miss that! And so many other things...
But you know, the *one* thing that makes Morrowind stand completely, absolutely apart from not only other TES games, but any other RPG that I've played in my life, is... Atmosphere. So. Much. Atmosphere. In that game. You really... *Felt* you were in Morrowind. In a hostile, dark place... Where not everything was pretty and nice, and yet there were so many wonders to discover... Oh man. I miss that game so much.
@nate: what you wrote only shows that you're like 15 years old and started with Skyrim/Oblivion. Anyone who played Morrowind first got annoyed as hell at that changes cause, simply put, it reduces the realism of the game tenfold. Moreover, it makes combat so much less enjoyable and more predictable it gets much less funny. Morrowind way FTW.
