Turian soldier or Quarian soldier. Marksman makes it work well and it just sounds wicked cool...plus the Turian passives, if you take them.

why to hell does it do less damage to armor?
Because that happens to most other guns too.

The obvious answer is the TSol, the less obvious but I hope equally useful -or even more so!- is that it is a light machine gun for casters!
Yes, it has a terrible spread but it is a machine gun, you need hard cover! Hard cover reduces the spread significantly, it becomes accurate at mid-long range. With a TSol from hard cover you can even headshot mooks at this range.
IMO it has several advantages over the potential competition (Harrier, Typhoon, PPR):
- it is rare gun, easy to max out (for example I have it at X yet my Typhoon is still level 3 after 850+ hrs and 2700+ games played).
- it is really light! For example, on the FQE incinerate has a 3s cooldown with it!
- it has plenty of ammo.
IMO it is the best on casters that can detonate combos, so you want back your cooldown fast. Weapon platforms have better alternatives. So contrary to intuition: needs an accuracy boost -> put it on a weapons platform; it is more suited for casters, especially that its biggest drawback can be solved by simply taking hard cover.
ATM I am using it on plat, EB+EM+AP IV. Tried it first on some obvious kits like Tsol, Krosol, KroSent, then moved to FQE, Saboteur, it all worked fine. The only kit I did not feel comfortable with it was HE, but it was only one game, and it was probably more about the cheating hunters ignoring overload then about the gun.

I use it on the Turian Ghost, with Extended Barrel, Thermal Scope, AP Ammo and a Stability consumable.
With Turian stability and the consumable fixing the recoil, and thermal scope fixing the accuracy without crazy amount of zoom, the Revenant becomes usable at all ranges. You can snipe with it. It's crazy.
Being an Armiger Turian means you don't get hit with the speed penalty. Or you just get hit less. Not sure.
And of course Cloak with the AR evo ups the damage.

Which other kits don't have the speed penalty?
Volus kits and (probably) the Juggernaut. I've not tried it on the jugg, but since the spitfire doesn't inflict a penalty on him, I suspect the revenant won't either.
Volus sentinel with a revenant & paladin is a quite an amusing combo, although I've recently switched to hurricane & paladin instead because I'm burning through AR amps too quickly to waste them on a joke loadout.

Good fun with the Kroguard . Charge into a group of mooks and let loose with the Rev

Came to see Revenant, saw improvised ammo applicator/cheese.
There are the obvious choices of the marksman/turian kits.
But me, when I use it, I like the weapon itself the bulk of the damage not an ammo type/'splosions.
I take it on my Hsol with a scope/EB/AP ammo/Warfighter - tis fairly effective and kinda fun to play too.

I probably use it the most on my Krogan Soldier with AP Rounds.
Was pretty fun on my FQI as well.

Really, I need max stability for this gun which usually means a Turian, Recoil Dampener, and stabilization and/or barrage upgrade. TSol works well, turn on MM and aim for the head. Still one of my least favorite ARs though behind the Argus and CAR

honestly, you need to try just the scope, no stability, but then if you then feel the need for more stability which is understandable then stick it on after.Really, I need max stability for this gun which usually means a Turian, Recoil Dampener, and stabilization and/or barrage upgrade. TSol works well, turn on MM and aim for the head. Still one of my least favorite ARs though behind the Argus and CAR
The main problem is not the stability but the accuracy. But the screen does shake allot.

Krogan vanguard. No better way to use it than to take it right to their face.

Or maybe the stability mod could be put on the revenant and then any kit can use it?
But, Argent, your build of no lift grenades and I don't see how you manage to keep the revenant on target with your krogan character setup.
So, no thanks ![]()

Hmmm..even with stabilty this gun just doesn't feel right. When i initially saw this gun i was excited because this gun was a beast in ME2. Something happened to this gun on the way to ME3 multi. Everytime i try to use it, i always find myself putting this thing away in favor of the typhoon. It sounds good tho at least....and the way this thing sounds it should be doing as much damage or more than the typhoon and have better functionality.

The Revenant is trash. For all of its noise and kick and thump, its damage is pretty sad.
I understand that its "me Bren gun" niche and all, but seriously ...... its just under powered for its obnoxiousness.
It was an excellent gun in ME2. It will never be as good as it was back then, trapped on a Collector ship, a setup / ambush on moving platforms, and I get to unleash me bran' new Revenant. Glorious times.

That's why class specific guns should make a return, this way we could have a Revenant as it once was and we wouldn't see everyone packing it.

The devs also posted before this was meant to be used while in cover. Most people only use RHA so if you remember, go into hard cover if they are medium to long range.

So, no thanks
it's a melee build.
I guess I'm just used to the Hurricane's recoil, and accuracy isn't a problem when you're right in somethings face.
I remember this build performing really well on Glacier.

Glad to see someone agrees with me about that.
