Well I like to think that the Warden provided a different world view than Flemeth, and that Morrigan's character evolved, especially if romanced....
But we will soon see! I am really curious to see what role Morrigan plays in DAI

Yeah, I'm interested to see (also!) if a Warden who romanced Morrigan and went with her in Witch Hunt will make any difference at all. On the one hand, the relationship might improve the OGC's chances of having a normal(er) childhood, but at the same time I don't believe all Wardens would be good father-figures either! ;) Bioware can't account for everything, of course.

Didn't one of the devs say something about Morrigan being a mother bringing out her softer side?

Whatever her plans might be (nefarious or not) I think she'll end up the doting mother and love her child. I'd bet on her ending up a better mother than Flemeth.

I don't remember any such quote personally, but if anyone can point to it I'll take it on board. :)

As far as the Flemeth comparison goes, we'll just have to see. Morrigan definitely has some less-than-fond memories of her own upbringing, and that might ensure she doesn't repeat some of her mother's...techniques.

I suppose I'm most interested to learn what Morrigan's real intentions are for the kid, and if the kid is willing to do/be what she's grooming him for.

He does have reasons. I'm not trying to dispute that. I only mention to contrast him with Morrigan. Nothing more. I wasn't trying to spark a Loghain debate. Maker knows I already do that enough. ;)

Well I guess I see the whole thing in way that they both have reasons to do what they do. They aren't solely something but instead they are more complex like many characters in DAO. It's interesting to see that Loghain has reasons to do what he does. It's also interesting to see that Alistair will leave you if you recruit Loghain even if you are together. That dumb boy. When you need him to most he is going to leave you. And then if you want him to do the DR. A little bit persuasion and he is willing do it...

It's funny to me that I let Alistair live... when his own hero, Duncan, would probably shank him just like he did Ser Jory, for trying to walk away like that.

I wonder why there wasn't that kind of option. I like Alistair and he has been my LI twice but some wardens might kill him for trying to leave.

I still probably wouldn't do it, even if I could. I enjoy the irony of that situation.

I might do it with my human hating elf character which I'm planning to create if that would be possible. But for the most of the times I wouldn't do it. Alistair is too sweet

I was surprised by the difference he was like in DA2 if you let him go.. And if you sacrifice yourself. Or if Loghain did it. Drunk Alistair is resentful about Loghain's sacrifice. "It should've been me! Not Loghain!"

But my US Warden did it and let Loghain live. Drunk Alistair hates the wardens, hates the joining, hates everything basically. This is exactly what I wanted him to learn. Too bad it took my death. But that's going to be my canon.

Not necessarily bitter. Just to drop the idealism. But I suppose the result is bitterness, nonetheless.

I don't know. It's better than killing him, I think. Umm... right? ;)

:o Sounds horrible to me. I think bitterness is so sad. When you could have just lived but instead you just hate everything like Alistair. He could have started over but no.

Blame it on Alistair. He never listened when I just simply talked to him. That could've worked out fine.

But NOOOOO.. It takes a sacrificial death to get his head out of his ass. :D

Or he could have lived happily after he left and when you see him again he would be exectly the same or even more Alistair :D

I don't want him happy. Not with his delusions in tact.

Fear not, Teagan rescues him from the bar in Act 2. So maybe Alistair pulls it together. Maybe tries to live a normal life. But I'm hoping he won't go back to thinking the Wardens are great/awesome heroes again. That's it nothing but a necessary evil and pain in the ass.

Or maybe that will happen in DAI :D He has forgotten all the bitterness and he is the Alistair like he was in DAO :P

I'd rather him just not idealize the Wardens. That's all.

I also wish Loghain learned some lesson. Letting him live is the greater punishment. He gets to live out firsthand what being a Warden is, what kind of people he killed, and is forced to work with Orlais. Not to mention got his whole value system shamed by a nobody elf. Maybe...just maybe.. he'll be a better person because of it.

It's easy for me to do this though because I don't care about the Warden anymore. I don't see them having any worthwhile story any longer. Might as well go out with a bang.

I feel he'll drop alot of the idealism (not all of it but most) hardened as King married to Anora. I just think she'd encourage his inner cynic and being king would force out his inner hardass :P

That might happen too.

But then.. I hate him as king. And I don't think merely being "Theirin" is good enough to push me that way. It's Eamon's argument, but I don't care about royal bloodlines.

Besides, it sounds like the Theirins are some dragonblooded family anyways, because of Calenhad. Maybe they deserve to be dethroned. Kind of the same reason why I don't do the dark ritual. I'm cleaning house.

Aww I just really don't want Anora on that throne alone. Alistair at least would balance her out. (I only put solo king Alistair with my power hungry mage. My male HN has Alistair remain a warden and does the US).

It does help that Alistair's eager to give Anora the throne if he's not hardened.

That would be my second choice, but...

Like I said, I'm detaching from the "Warden". I don't see it going anywhere. It seems like all of the companions of DAO have generally cooler stories than my own character.

I could be dead wrong, of course.

Nope. My cousland is either dead or far far too cynical to get along well with Anora. If he's enamored enough with power to take the throne in the first place he's gonna shove her out the way and have puppet Alistair on the throne, if he's not he's going to wander the land living the rest of his life fighting, drinking and hiding from the wardens.

I only hope for some continuity with Hawke. I don't think all of our Wardens can be done justice.

Yep as soon as my warden does something massively OOC this is gonna be my course of action.

1. Sigh

2. Facepalm

3. Hit Esc

4. Quit Game

5. Go to the Keep and change redeemer ending to US

6. Import that into DAI

7. Start all over again

Streetmagic - you have a point about the Theirin bloodline. On the one hand the blood seems massively important (mostly to Eamon). On the other Fereldan seems to hold its independence and right to vote for this stuff as massively important. And if there is dragon blood then what impact is that going to have on Morrigan's OGB?
