Think Hierophant meant historically all the rapists we've seen in DA are all males.

Um anyway.
The point is for me personally I'd like to see each human gender celebrated rather than the female one continuously put down in some subtle way or other. For goodness' sake maybe a female PC could get past a certain area by wooing the male guards; the male PC could get past a different area by wooing the female guards. It doesn't have to be mean toward any gender. Just something positive.
Bingo
Based on the situation described, however, I thought it was pretty clear that she was illustrating a situation where a man was raped by a woman.

How does FemHawke get the key from that guy in *MOTA not Legacy brain fart* anyway? I know MHawke can flirt and lift the key (or just knock him out). Does she only get the knock him out option?

Ooh no idea.... maybe someone can recall??

Which i find unlikely when you consider the gender of this series' rapists/sex offenders and serial killers. It's surprising how in game you don't hear cases of abuse from the Chantry sisters.
I am vaguely sorry I brought the topic up.
What is your point, exactly.
A crazy doomsday prophet declares that your female PC is the reincarnation of Andraste, and follows you around proclaiming your divinity. For a male PC, the reincarnation of Maferath, her mortal husband who betrayed her, and he hurls curses at you. Either scenario is hilarious and annoying for everyone involved.
Sounds like he could be the DA version of Conrad Verner (if you didn't play it, he's a Mass Effect character). ![]()
There have been a lot of great suggestions though, and as others have said, I would love to play them.
Ooh no idea.... maybe someone can recall??
I'm pretty sure you can flirt? I think...
Yes it's more the worry of being dragged off during epic last stand than anything.
Welp, that's nightmarish. Makes me wonder if the whole "Grey Wardens can't have kids" thing is deliberate.
Still, it's slow acting poison for my Warden all the way, now. And a pact with a fellow Grey Warden that we won't be taken alive. Also, dwarven explosives attached to a flame flask. And hopefully she doesn't receive her calling till she's safely past menopause. Assuming Darkspawn fertility works that way, which I'm not really prepared to contemplate any further, because ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

You can flirt and pick his pocket, IIRC.

He's bisexual I guess. He's just not into elves.
That an in game example of a female sex offender seems unlikely, that there's a gender disparity between the perpetrators of certain crimes, and that your example seems unlikely if the pattern continues.I am vaguely sorry I brought the topic up.

Oooh. Huh so much for that.

Yeah my warden's reaction to that was "lol nope" she'll be damned if she's going into the deep roads without someone to give her a mercy kill.

But is there some kind of lore that says "only males can offend sexually in the world of Dragon Age"? I don't think there is.
If there isn't, and if it's not seriously lore-defying (like all the anti-women dialogue IS lore-defying yet it's still in the game).... then why not? Why not explore the possibility, in a fantasy game, of men stumbling across hardships such as assault etc from women and finding another man to commiserate with or what have you.
Honestly. Why not.
In the name of social progression, even in a fantasy, video game world. In the name of... variety! There is no reason not to do this.
Not that I'd like to explore rape per se. To be honest I can't recall rape being mentioned anywhere in DAO or DA2. (Not to say it isn't there somewhere - feel free to remind me, I just can't recall the specifics.)
Look, a video game can have a profound effect on a person (raising my own hand here, hello Bioware, how you doin'). And a person can be greatly positively effected if they find a character or a situation with which they can relate to. The topic of rape is extremely negative and it bothers me that it's the one thing a couple of you are clinging on to, but... Say there's some man out there who had been assaulted by a woman but is too embarrassed to say anything in real life. Then he plays a game where some random NPC expresses the same issues... Then he might start to feel that hey, maybe he's not alone after all, maybe he's not crazy for feeling what he's feeling. Video games, like any media, has the potential to effect lives in a positive manner.
My personal point, again, is that I'd like to see each human gender represented in a positive light. Why do we have to focus on rape, or discrimination, or one person being uncomfortable with one gender over the other. Why. Why can't it be posiitive. "Hey, I like you" to a male, and "Hey, I like you A LOT" to a female.
DAO - Shianni (You can flat out say to Cailan you killed an arl's son for raping your friend), DA2 had Alrik (and Isabela tells you how her mother sold her to a man "and didn't even haggle over the price.") and Danarius skeeveness towards Fenris. Also I forgot the mage kid that was with Grace he mentions how mutton chops sneaks into his room at night.

Also Broodmothers. Hespith's song...says it almost straight out. The Magistrate's Orders...his son and the elf children...it's more implied, but I got the strong sense of it. Then there's Ser Alrik who threatens that mage in Dissent with tranquility so she can no longer say no. And Anders mentions that templars rape mages, but he was lucky to avoid it.
Yep...also Leliana's song has Leliana being raped as well right?
Okay. So with all these examples we can somberly conclude that men and women both get raped. By men and/or women (since not all templars are men in the above example, at least). How lovely.
Can we seriously please talk about human men and women in a positive light? Please?

So we've been doing it poorly thus far? Noted.
EDIT: To be clear, I think this line you've drawn in the sand is being pretty obtuse. If it wasn't clear to you that Mes was referring to a woman raping a man, it's been clarified. If you think the idea of a woman raping a man in Thedas is impossible based upon what we've seen so far in the game, then that is something you'd have to reconcile on your own, since it's irrelevant to the discussion at this point.
So far the offenders have all been men(and there have been more that what's already mentioned such as the Chevaliers having the right to rape commoners, the human men who raped and impregnated Zathrian's daughter, etc...) but yes I think this train of thought needs to be snipped, this thread is becoming distinctly un-fun again :<Okay. I'd love to have as little as rape as possible in the plot of the game, regardless of who is the perpetrator and who is the victim.
I do like the ideas of having certain quests made easier--the Chantry one...or the crazy prophet one. That could be really fun. A woman going around with a following saying she's the reincarnation of Andraste or something. That has so much potential for awesome.
I just like the idea of any sort of positive interactions for lady Inquisitors.
I also wouldn't mind if we saw any sort of female child who gets inspired by our female inquisitor to go out and become a warrior or something. I'd love something like that.

Agreed on the bolded. There's enough as is. No need for more.
Yeah I know the girl from the magistrate's quest becomes a guard if you kill psycho dude so something like that that's lady exclusive would be nice to see.
