There's that Lazy Effect thing again, why is it spreading...
Why, I will tell you dear modders!
I am in need of enthusiastic modders who would want to be part of the production crew of a Mass Effect machinima called The Lazy Effect, uploading episodes bi-weekly on Youtube. And where would be the best place to find Mass Effect modders? On this forum and more specifically, this subforum (I'm a hermit of 'my' section, isn't everyone? Huh, strange...)
Also looking for people who can work with Source Film Maker or other animating programs you can make short, but custom animations with by using Mass Effect assets (which have to be importable in those programs). Making an entire CGI sequence would be too long, too much work and not the aim of a machinima. Instead, such short animations would be used to enrich conversations with body language and other stuff.
Due to the non-profit nature of the machinima, I can't pay anyone (hence the required enthusiasm), but I hope anyone who decides to help with some modding issues I have, which would be limited to things any of you fine, upstanding modders would think is a piece of cake or a little bit challenging, as I'm struggling with figuring this stuff out, partly due to limited experience but also due to me trying to learn video editing, voice acting, audio editing, filming, directing and so on (I consider myself to be at least quite effective at (script)writing, as it is my primary ability), so you can guess I can't learn fast enough and/or I don't have the talent for more advanced modding.
What kind of things would I be struggling with that I would like to take on senior modding consultants for? Well...
Getting Miranda's head and body for Femshep on the Normandy in ME2 (found a peeeeeeeerfect face code and hair mod AND hair fix made by wonderful people I'll be sure to credit in the well, credits:p)
Designing face codes for characters that simply cannot be transferred in Shepard's form (like Dr. Chloe Michel in ME2, where she doesn't appear and every face code I found needs tweaking I can't seem to get right)
More advanced stuff that is more a wishlist than something that would be near crucial for improving the machinima:
replacing Shepard or squadmates with customshep models (so scenes between these customsheps can be shown without making a ridiculous amount of cuts between clips of each one in their own career for example)
... More coming, probably.
So, you think you can do these kind of things AND you want to see the results of your work (which I insist doesn't take tens of hours of work, if it does, the result isn't worth it (unless you'd gladly put in those hours for free, then go right ahead!) and from a more pragmatic viewpoint, if it takes weeks to 'solve' some of the possibly outrageous things I ask (still a rookie, so don't yet know all the hardships mass effect modders have endured), it probably won't get done in time. And if it takes that long for something that I ultimately use for a minute of footage I end up using in the episode, it wasn't worth it).
