Some of the random travel encounters can be difficult early on, especially right after Lothering.

At that time most Wardens are still mere mortals, instead of the superheroes they will become a few levels later. All companions are still exactly as you got them, except for the failed templar but straightening him out takes a bit longer than that. Even the wolves or the bereskarn can be difficult then. Not to mention that chests may go unlooted and traps unharvested, if the Warden is not a rogue and Leliana hasn't even levelled once.

Anyway, it seems that you always get a free ride the first time you travel out of Lothering, and sometimes you can protect yourself from an unlucky random draw by booking specific encounters.

I found "Have You Seen Me" to be reliable for getting a safe ride out of Denerim. No chests, no traps, only one boss-level abomination as enemy.

"Careless Accusations" (Seal of Rat Red) gets you safely out of Lake Calenhad unless you have a date with Zevran & friends. I don't remember difficulties with chests or traps, so either there weren't any or they were easy enough for Leliana to pick

Booking Zevran is a bit involved and it takes Lothering off the map, so it doesn't really belong in this list. Still, the fighting is easy and the traps are not too hard (DC 30 max?) if I remember correctly.

Marjolaine's assassins are a possibility, and you can hire them any time by talking to Leliana. Parking the leader until all minions have been harvested can take some doing if you don't have decent CC capabilities, but apart from that the fight is manageable. It seems that the trap cannot be disarmed anyway, meaning that Leliana's level of training is not a concern.

In Denerim you can always travel safely to the market by way of the camp, if you aren't ready for the mass brouhahas or the black vial. It seems that Ser Landry always comes extra, so you may have two encounters during one trip if he's been invited.

Do you know of other encounters that can be booked reliably? Not only for planning early travels, but also perhaps for things like getting the four sylvans out of the way so that you can get rid of the extra nature resistance gear.
