I beat it, the main mission. I've also put in another whopping 2 hour and 15 mintues in beating the rest of the side mission. So about a 3 in a half hour game.... 30 bucks for this. Dafuq! Last of Us Left Behind was half the price, just as long and better.... For 15 bucks. Citadel DLC was 15 bucks, twice as long and better. This is a rip off.

It took me 63 minutes and 14 seconds..... for the main mission.

What The F*ck!!!!

I am a HUGE MGS fan. I have owned and beaten all the games (even those PSP/vita ones, surprisingly PW  is amazing too, despite the major flaws of PSP). I love this series. I own the HD versions on BOTH PS3 and 360.... I love this series. I've even dressed up as Solid Snake for Halloween multiple times. Point being, I love Snake and MGS. I hold MGS3, MGS and MGS4 among the greatest games ever made, like top 10 great. But....

And I'll give it to Kojima and pals, this game is utterly stunning, and I'm not even playing it on the "optimum" console, but even at 720p with 60 frames and next gen eye candy, this game is just stunning. The lighting, the textures, and so on and so are all high level.

But what the hell!!!! 1 hour long!!!! And the game is easy, even on the "hard" mode. The stealth is good and stuff and the gun play is nice, I like the gameplay, but it's just so easy.

Also, and it must be said.

Kiefer Sutherland sucks donkey ballzzzz as Snake. No. No. No. And I'm a huge Jack Bauer and Young Guns fan, lol.

But David Hayter he is not. Never. Ever. Going. To. Live up to the legend that is Snake and David Hayter.

I fear that MGS5 (Phantom Pain-stupid name BTW) is really, in big trouble.

Things I liked-

Great graphics, sound design and atmosphere.

Very goo cutscenes.

I like the controls and movement.

The gunplay is a step up.

But, 30 bucks.... Come on now! And it's too easy also.

Kojima has a lot of work to do, to make MGS5 live up to the standards the series has consistently been held up too.

Because after GZ, my faith in the series is a bit wobbly.

End of Rant.

It's been known for quite a while that the game was going to be short... what did you expect?  Did you not see all the articles saying you can speedrun the game in ten minutes?

Because MGS has not been good since Snake Eater - The stealth is virtually gone, heck at least Guns of the Patriots still had the camo-option, which have since been dropped. Now it's more of tactical-action game, where it's okay to pull out a MAC-10 and blast your enemies instead of encouraging a stronger emphasis on stealt, you can do ninja moves on enemies like Splinter Cell. That's what is apparently considered a stealth game. And yes, Kiefer Sutherland cannot catch the greatness of Hayter, but the fact of the matter is that Hayter can't do the Snake voice anymore. Nothing else to it. I wish Kojima had not given in to threats and just ended Metal Gear after Snake Eater but there it is. Heck, he couldn't even stop at Guns of the Patriots. You can only blame yourself for investing in a game that was sold and marketed as a prologue - Had you argued that the price was too high then I'll agree with you.

I've been looking forward to Metal Gear Solid Ground Zero for some time ( even though the only games in the series that I have enjoyed are the first MGS on the PS1 and Snake Eater ), all the screen shots and the gameplay vids show it to be one of the best looking games out there. Then I heard about the length, to be honest that was a bitter pill to swallow, I was really looking forward to it but it is very hard to justify the length vs the price, how much enjoyment I will get out of it vs how often I will play it ( I'm only interested in the main campaign, I font care about the other objectives ) vs the price. Yesterday I read an article that said that one of the Eurogamer staff member,s beat MGSGZ's main campaign in 10 minutes ( once you know where to go and what to do it is apparently very easy to do ). That's just insane, $30/€30 for 10 minutes of gameplay.

Sometimes I feel like the only one that doesn't research everything there is to know about a game before buying. But yeah, 30 bucks for a dlc is stupid.

No reason to complain. Only reason GZ was released was to satiate the hunger for a new MGS until Phantom Pain (Which is an awesome title OP) came out.
I was going to wait to grab it until PP came out anyway. So, you shot yourself in the foot buddy.

Why do people measure worth by the length of a game so much? Specifically it's single player campaign? Is a 20 hour game worth more than a 15 hour game because it's longer? Are you automatically getting your money's worth with a longer game? I understand this Ground Zeroes is a rip off at its price but still.

Kojima admitted it was pretty much just the tutorial for TPP. I hope it doesn't sell well enough to justify everyone else attempting this stunt of selling you the game in over priced instalments. DLC is bad enough as it already is.

How would you react if I told you it can be beaten in 10 minutes?

‘MGS: Ground Zeroes’ Can Be Completed in Just 10 Minutes

Now I wanna know something: If someone orders pizza from the nearest place right as that person starts the game, will that person finish the game before the pizza arrives?

This is what happens when you don't do your due diligence and buy a game solely because of the legacy of the franchise.

I would say 30 mph, since that is the speed limit in most neighborhoods.

Man, now I'm hungry. Lol.

Kiefer is terrible as Big Boss/Naked Snake. Even the voice actor from MGS4 would've been better.

I hope there's a bigger emphasis on stealth in the actual release of TPP.

Because MGS has not been good since Snake Eater

Peacewalker, plz.

What, the voice actor for Big Boss or the same voice actor that's been voicing Snake for years? If it's the second one: OF COURSE!

I'm happy that I will not spent like 10 days watching it on YouTube like I did with MGS4.

Peace Walker was fine -- Storywise and character wise it was weak, mostly due to the PSP's old hardware. It was fun for the co-op, but otherwise it wasn't at the level of previous games.

As for your first statement -- The gameplay of Ground Zeroes is the same as Phantom Pain. The fact that Kojima has ditched all the older mechanics from the previous games in favor of Splinter Cell gameplay, where the emphasis is on mark and execution, essentially, speaks a lot. Modern Metal Gear is not what I'd consider a stealth game. It is as much of a stealth game as The Last of Us. To sum up what the IGN drones said "f you want to, you can do this all guns blazing. Ground Zeroes happily caters to more chaotic minds, and with regenerating health and a new ‘reflex’ mode that briefly slows down time when Boss is spotted allowing for a bullet to the offending head, “Shoot First, Ask Questions Later” isn’t the death sentence it was in previous games." -- Regenerating health, slow motion and what have you.. This is not a stealth game that encourages stealth, this is just a downright shooter now.

That's what you get when you do not do research even after the series has been falling apart after MGS3(which was the last good MGS game)

This new "MGS" game is simply a shooter which will be full of plotholes(Kojima has outright said expect plotholes) and crappy voice acting. If you're into that sort of thing, then I'm sure this new shooter will make you happy. Me? I'm just going to sit here, drink tea and laugh at Kojima killing his own series.

To every person saying it's the users fault for "not doing research"

Here ya go-  http://www.youtube.c...h?v=YAgRBq2jnz4

The customer is NEVER wrong. NEVER. Good businesses with a solid business model know this, cause fiscally it will pay off in revenue and good rep for said company in the future.

Here endeth the lesson.

Know, I do believe in the "fool me once" type of thing. Which is why I will not buy any BioWare games after ME3, which is why I will NOT buy any EA games after Battlefield 4 and so on and so on.

But it is not the user and/or customer's fault for ever purchasing a game.

The faults lie with the developers and publisher entirely.

And I will not be buying MGS5, even if it's really good.

I'll buy it used, that way gamestop or best buy will get the majority of the profit. And even then, I'll use a gift card or points to do it.

Dude, there was many articles on how short it was and how it was a glorified demo. It was known and people like you still bought it then rage then get mad when you are told it's your fault for not doing research. As a gamer, you should always do research on the game you're going to buy, that is your responsibility.

I love this logic - So if you put a cat in the oven to dry it off, even though common sense tells you not to do it, and it goes wrong- You'll sue the production company of said oven because the customer can't obviously be wrong, and you couldn't be arsed to realize that "It probably isn't a good idea to do that". It's your responsibility to do research on the product you're buying. See we got this thing called the internet these days, which can provide you with all the information you need, and also offer more opportunities for manufactures to sell their product and tell people about it. It has been marketed, from the beginning, as a prologue to Phantom Pain and its length have been brought up several times. You won't find a review that won't mention it. It's your fault for not doing any research. Deal with it.

No need to be so harsh with the dude. I know that there are a very small percentage of gamers out there who are so paranoid about spoilers and stuff that they refuse to do any research on a game because they want everything to be fresh and new.

I personally agree with you, MGSGZ length has been well documented for some time and a logical person would have been aware about that ( although I'm still a bit shocked by the 10 minutes thing, that is insane ) but not everyone does the logical thing.
