So how do you like those Kojima paychecks?

Stealth should not be a pain the ass? Stealth IS a pain in the ass and the game shows this very well like what it would be in a realistic scenario (which MGS5 is trying to do in terms of gameplay and story).

Really? Well, I suppose it would be for some people. What would I know, right?

Of couse GZ has some problems but one of the pros of this being released as a stand alone game is Kojima can see the feedback and improve TPP.

This is the kind of dangerous opinions, which allows publishers to utilize stupid practices like selling a prologue for a full game price in the future. Such a shame.

like what it would be in a realistic scenario (which MGS5 is trying to do in terms of gameplay and story).

Yes, GZ is quite realistic indeed... And we both know caving towards gritty realism always works out so well.

Did MGS 1 and 2 have stealth camo or a sneaking suit?

The suit Solid Snake wears IS the Sneaking suit. All Metal Gear games have had the stealth camo, infinite bandana etc, so far.

There is no excuse for not having a camo system in GZ and PP. It's removable should already raise red flags for everyone. The camo system was fantastic in MGS3 and while the invisible system was made so the places in MGS4 could work for stealth, it was still a pk system(though I still prefer MGS3s camo system)

We all know why it is gone, even if some people refuse to realize it because it's a MGS game and they feel compelled to love it because of it's great legacy that Kojima is sadly ruining.

The problem with the camo in Peace Walker was that it was pretty much useless, given you couldn't customize it manually in-game, due to the PSP's capabilities being shite. Removing it altogether, like with so many other things like not bringing the codec back (maybe it'll be in PP, who knows) and all this emphasis on action gameplay is encouraging to put it mildly. Heck it even started with Guns of the Patriots. I think I know some of the problems, with the industry these days. Publishers & developers are trying too hard to bring back old franchises into the future and always seems to never live up to the standards set by previous games. But it's okay, as long as it has the brand name on it and somewhat resembles the older games we can roll with it. There isn't too much room for new ideas, or something people didn't ask for. This is why Kojima is still making Metal Gear after all these years. Because people threatened him to do it instead of being open about new ideas, new IPs. We didn't ask him to make Metal Gear Solid on the PSX. Like so many other games. It's the bad kind of nostalgia. I sincerely hope there'll be more new IPs in this generation because I feel the industry needs it.

You can shut down Reflex Mode and it is in fact a literally rewarding experience to do so.

haha, true story.

Reflex mode.... Gotta appeal to them little kiddies who can't shoot without auto aim and aim bots.

Casual Gear Solid 5 the Phantom Game... (Wait, wait, Sorry meant Phantom Pain) is gonna be so good!!!!

NOT.

side note-

I really hope there are kill streaks in the MP for Casual Gear Solid 5. Or maybe giant robots the player can jump into.....

Playing the game again, this weekend. My speed run took a whopping 21 minutes..... Anyway's playing the game again, what I felt Casual Gear Solid Ground Zeroes needed was giant robots that snake could "pilot" in and also maybe some destruction, maybe when snake shoots a guard box the thing would fall apart. I really think a sort of "destructionlution" game mechanic would even appeal CGS (Casual Gear Solid) even more for "new players" and players that are more "action type of gamers".

Yeah.

"Casual Gear Solid" Eh... 2/10

On another note:

Lol what? Combat in general is more often than not a "pain in the ass". So why should the more action-oriented parts of the game be excluded from that "pain in the assery"? Fortunately, stealth doesn't really look to be a pain. But it is very... traditional. Splinter Cell ish.

I'll admit I do miss the old camo and face paint system back in 3. I remember running around in the dark with the zombie face paint and the Sorrow Camo murdering Gru Soldiers in their sleep good times.

For now I'll settle just running over soldiers  in a truck  at Camp Omega.

I don't really care what others decide to call the game so long as I end up enjoying it. Right now I've little reason to suspect I won't.

And before anyone remarks with a customary "well aren't you selfish", it should be said I dedicate most everything I do to either helping others or paying things forward. I'm going to draw the humanitarian line at Japanese video games though. Let me have my one bread-and-circus without mulling over whether Danny McGamington is satisfied with the direction Hideo Kojima has taken his beloved Srs Bsns.

Anyway, by most rights I'm quite a casual gamer myself. I care zilch for achievement glory, I very rarely play games on their hardest settings, I never replay games at all until I'm stoked to experience their stories again. I personally buy maybe three new games a year? MGS just happens to be one of the few franchises I target. The term "casual" ought not immediately be applied to FPS fans. I don't enjoy that genre.

My problem with this is going to relate to when Mgs5 comes out. If it comes out early in 2015, why couldn't they add this to the original game? My whole issue is related to playing a prologue for 30 to 40$. If they released this with the mindset of "this is what we're trying to achieve" with a fair price tag (which is subjective), I personally wouldn't complain. Right now, it feels like a cash grab and I hope this does not become a trend in the future! Hey pay 40$ for our ending!

I thought it was marketed as a really short "test platform" of a future MGS title? I mean, what did you really expect?

As much as I dislike what MGS has become I gotta say-- You're acting like such a big self-righteous man child it's unreal. Stop blaiming others for your mistake of not reading the warning signs. It's obvious that you're still mad over the fact that you didn't get your money's worth in length for your demo.

That's what Kojima wanted to do with Ground Zero add it with the rest of the game

Ground Zero is pretty much a Konami cash grab and a tech demo

I don't think this will become a trend in this industry, like many said this was a stunt by Konami and Sony to improve the sales of PS4 in Japan.

If even MGS got MAJOR heat by doing this there's few franchises that can pull this without alienating their public.

So am I the only one like piling POWs and unconscious soldiers in one area and running them over in a truck? I am getting my 30 dollars worth out of it.

This would make sense if the game wasn't available on almost every platform under the current and last gen sun. How do you know this wasn't a stunt by Microsoft to improve the sells of the Xbox 360 in Japan? Or to set up for the eventual Xbox One release in Japan?

This can be true but a heavy indication this a stunt by Sony/Konami is only in Japan they're making bundles and limited editions for PS4 version of GZ.
