I've always wondered why vampires have still not made it into the dragon age universe. I know vampires have been polarizing figures in recent years and many people probably have vampire fatigue because of their overexposure in the mainstream media but I would love to see what the bioware team would be able to do with them I feel bioware would do vampires better than the elder scrolls games. agree? disagree? I hope they won't involve vampires in da lore they should create something new and fresh instead beat old creatures over and over so i hope there won't be any vampires or zombie it is boring keep walking onto same enemies and monsters in rpg games.

We have zombies and other sorts of undead, not to mention werewolves. I'm not sure why vampires haven't been introduced, at least in the codexes. I don't care either way however.

I don't think that Vampires are a polarising topic.
It's just the overly romanticized and frankly idiotic way in which they were portrayed in many pop-culture works.
And yeah, at the and of the day there is also a Vampire fatigue.
It's not like it's easy to reinvent the concept again after it was done to death so many times.
IIRC according to DA lore, the closest thing in to a vampire would be a hunger abomination. (what's with having cannibalistic urges and all)

Hunger demon mixed with blood magic may possibly make a vampire or something similar.

Why? Because blood-magic has "blood" in its name?
Blood magic is about using another source of mana, and about access to certain spells and anti-templar tactics, not drinking the stuff.
I don't see a point in forcing an artificial "Vampire" into the DA lore just because.

There has already been mention of Vampires in the lore. It's a hunger demon that has possessed a living host.
"Next are the demons of hunger. In a living host they become cannibals and vampires, and within the dead they feed upon the living. Theirs are the powers of draining, both of life force and of mana."

Nah, I'm thinking of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines with thamaturgy. Vampire feeding on people and using blood magic.

No. Despite all the other mythical creatures in DA, vampires just don't seem to fit. Funky in a bad way.
And if so they better get them right. Don't need no sparklin' sissies. They need the real deal, Vlad the Impaler types.

As someone already mentioned, they do exist, we just haven't actually seen one in game yet. I somehow doubt that people possessed by Hunger Demons are remotely sexy or sparkly, so we probably don't have to worry about that.

I liked "Interview with the vampire" type.

How disappointing.
Why must the bloodsuckers infilitrate every form of media? Goddamned Twilight and True Blood, may they burn on the hottest plane of hell.

It was Nef.
However Morinth wasn't a vampire. Morinth's powers were that of a succubus.

1)'Vampires' are only mentioned in the codex, and considering how abominations are in general, I doubt the DA vampires will be similar to Twilight or TB.How disappointing.

2)Your forgot to mention TVD. Don't know in the US, but it's quite popular here in Italy, more than True Blood.
