Looks incredible. I wonder how much this footage represents the actual game.

Very little?

Yeah, very little would be my guess. But I love to be proven otherwise.

Very little?
Given that this is next-gen, I could see it being pretty close to what was shown in the teaser trailer.

Napoleon is an assassin.
Confirmed. ![]()

Napoleon had a piece of eden so he was most likely a templar.

If this is pre-alpha footage, then I can't wait to see what we get in the actual game.

Um... so no assassin has ever held a piece of Eden?

They have but they tend to try and seal it away. Or at least all the protagonists have.

Well come to think of it Houdini used it before he got killed by the templars. (God I love the AC lore)

Would be interesting to meet him in a future AC title.

I really was hoping for a female assassin.
I remember thats what ACIII was going to be and then it was ported to vita and finally an "HD" upgrade for current console gen.I want an ancient egypt AC game with female lead

I have to admit that the video shots do look stunning and Paris is a beautiful city, but I am still not sure about the French Revolution. I think it is because it is too close (time period wise) to ACIII and ACIV. I guess I was expecting the next game to be at least in a different century.
But if the protagonist is to be a male (I still hope for a female protagonist as part of the main game one day), then I really hope they don't get the voice actor who voiced Julien in Dragon's Dogma! I really hope they use a French actor.
If it was someone like Stephane Cornicard (voiced Riordan/Stroud in DA), I would be happy ![]()

Given that it's Ubisoft, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

True. Remember what happened to watch dogs?

True, but it is worth noting that Watchdogs is a cross platform game designed to run on both 360/PS3 hardware and XBox One/PS4 hardware, as such it's not unreasonable to assume that certain sacrifices have been made to graphics and the interactivity of the world in general in order to ensure that the current and next generation versions are not completely different from one another.
From my understanding Assassins Creed unity is strictly a next generation AC title. Ubisoft are working on another AC title specifically for the 360 and the PS3. That means AC Unity has a better chance of staying close the ACU screenshot leaks.
Another thing worth noting is that the screenshots in OP are leaked screenshots from a alpha build of the game. I don't think Ubisoft PR had time to dress up the game before they were forced to confirm the game and release an official trailer.

Assassin's Creed games have always been visually impressive. Of all the things to be concerned about that's hardly one of them, methinks.

Looks interesting, although since it's only next-gen I don't know if I'll be able to upgrade my PC enough to play it. I'm hoping the other AC game (the current, or is it previous gen now?) will be in an ancient time period and maybe with the female protagonist several of us want.

I wonder what route they'll go with the protagonist. I loved what they did with edward kenway in black flag, having a character who wasn't an assassin from the state and was mostly an outsider to the conflict was really cool to see play out, giving the conflict between templars and assassin's a new light so to speak, and an opportunity to get away from the always serious and brooding main character mold.
On the other hand I don't want just edward kenway 2.0, different person, same punkish rogue who kills an assassin, steals their identity, and then hijinks ensue. Personally, and this is just me, I would love to see the story of a character who starts off firmly on the side of the templars, and then defects to the side of the assassins. Would be a nice change of pace and offer a lot of story telling oppurtunities, while also not just having the same plot of black flag recycled.

I'd find that interesting as well. As long as they don't defect for some cliched reason like love. Mind you, I'd be interested in playing a protagonist who starts out as an Assassin and then defects to the Templars for some legitimate reasons, maybe during a period of history where the Templars were not outright crazy, greedy, evil scumbags (bloody Cesare still gets on my nerves even this many games on).

That's actually how I thought Connor would play out at one point, at least for a while before (probably) turning back.
Alas, I was disappointed.

Indeed, but there were many things to be disappointed in with AC3.
