Since they confirmed mages can equip armor wouldn't it be better to just bring back the less broken Battlemage spec?

Why not both?

One for the PC and one for a chosen companion

Heads would roll if AW was restricted to Solas.

I really don't want arcane warrior as a spec really, simply because other specializations are necessary to support more traditional mage gameplay styles.  Spirit Healer for Healers and Blood Mage for evil mages.  Then Force mage/battlemage for mages who don't want to be healers or evil.  That's three.

Shapeshifter, arcane warrior and keeper are all really cool (personally, I'd like keeper the most), but the other specializations are necessary in order to prevent situations where a player has to choose which specialization is the 'lesser evil'.  That's why force mage was implemented in DA2, I think.

Traditional Trashmishanal. Why does it have to be like other games with mages? (It doesn't.) They can do whatever they want with it.

Oh, oh, Thought! I remember reading that we may be able to play as a Qunari (they ought to give the species it's own name), what if it can be a Qunari Mage! The impossibility of such an occurrence would make it an interesting story element.

They really need to come up with a better third spec for mages other than Healer and Blood Mage for those of us that want to be combat focused but don't want to use the Blood Mage spec.

What's better than force Mage? Gravatic ring, fist of the maker, pop fireball, slaughter mobs.

[quote name="Mirrman70" Its wierd for a mage not be in normal clothing. and I bet that those robes were a thousand times more comfortable to spend hours running around in.[/quote]

Lol that might be tru but they were butt ugly and a little less so in DA 2

Not going to lie; I would sell my own mother for Arcane Warrior to make a come back.

I know it was pretty OP towards the end game and you could pretty much tank anything with fade shroud and shimmering shield activated; but I mainly went AW just so I could throw a fireball into a group of enemies, crushing prison the Orge then charging into the fray windmilling my sword whilst yelling "WHOOPWHOOPWHOOPWHOOPWHOOPWHOOPWHOOPWHOOP!"

I mean throughout the campaign; It seems like your warden is growing into some kind of legendary badass of epic darkspawn slaying destruction and AW felt like the only class that really delivered that for me.

I vote for a come back for the arcane warrior

it's not going to be about overpowering

i don't like strict separations, mages a human (and elves) even if there are mages it is still be possible that they could have a training with the sword.

in the war against the Templars I think it is also advantageous to be able to handle with the sword

the Templars do not expect that the mage unpacks a sword at once ^^

I want see their faces. :D
