Will we ever see ship combat or exploration in dragon age? Games like assassins creed 4 have used ship exploration and combat and I would love a future dragon age game to include it someday

Doesnt fit in DA, it would take to much time away from the core mechanics and focus of bioware to try and make a decent naval mechanic, as great as it would be to have a dreadnought, id prefer they stick with their formula

I don't see why not, for a future game anyway!

Dunno. Still waiting to see if we get boats or ships, as 'quasi-mounts'/travel devices. You've gotten way ahead of what we know for this game, not like that is unique to you, of course. ![]()
That would be cool. Maybe, though, naval combat, like mounted horse combat, can come in DA4.
As for ship exploration, well, someday it is possible the Thedas map we've all seen will change when we go to other continents (and it seems to be known the planet has other continents), and I don't see how we'd get there other than by boat. ![]()
We do know the Qunari are sailing all over the place, but they have better technology than other races, including, apparently, naval.

Ship combat is something I don't really see coming to Dragon Age anytime soon. I don't see why exploration can't, however. It can be interesting to have sequences in a story where the protagonist and companions are moving about on a ship. Part of me likes the idea just for the imagery, like being able to walk around the lower decks, and being able to walk around topside to see all the sails and rigging, the ocean and maybe interact with the NPC's among the crew.

Please no. But if it comes to that, I hope it's optional. And I mean optional like you don't loose anything if you don't do that. And your sense of completion isn't whining.

Oh goodness I hope not. As much as I like the ship combat in AC4 it also destroyed the focus of the franchise. No thank you.

For the love of god - NO! I would love to see it in next Mass Effect. Space ship battles=pure win.

Ship battles worked great in Assassin's Creed Black Flag and the Sid Meier's Pirates! game.... I don't see how it could work in this one. Quanari are the only ones with access to, well... the powder that allows for ship cannons aren't they?

I personally would very much dislike this. If I wanted ship battling, I'd pop in my disc of AC4.

Andraste's flaming knickers, I hope not! I loathed the ship battles in AC3 and AC4 (despite liking... everything else about those games, heh). I always struggle somewhat with vehicle-based mechanics in games, but I've found ships to be especially bad - I have trouble multitasking steering them and firing cannons. Plus, it would just feel very out of place with the current mechanics of the series.
That said, however, if they are 100% optional and won't punish the player horribly for not doing them, I can live with it. I also wouldn't be opposed to combat on a ship, like boarding. Regular combat, different scenery. I'd also tolerate shooting cannons or the like. But Maker, please don't make me steer and shoot. Let me do one or the other (preferably shooting
) but not both.

No thanks. Perhaps starship combat in the next Mass Effect, but I'd really rather not see naval combat in Dragon Age, personally.

If the games ever take us to an island setting, I'd sure like to see some naval combat. Since it doesn't seem like they're gonna do that anytime soon, I don't see much point in asking for it.

Nice idea but Most unlikely.
If bioware didn't add it in Mass Effect, why should they in Dragon age?
Well with your own castle in DAI, i hope they get at least some siege-battles right.

For exploration only? Yes.

Yes. Vivienne and Iron bull will have a huge battle over whose ships will come true in Varrics "Hard in Hightown" series.
Little do they know, Varric inteads to make all the ships canon with a massive orgy.
