It's definitely worth the hassle of installing and configuring.

Aside from the occasional bugs and error to load at certain points it is worth it. I like the textures, but my laptop does have its difficulties in trying to run it.

Just need to tweak the blocky shadows that appear, but that can wait 'til tomorrow.

Yeah, the shadows are what gave me trouble as well. Fortunately, the mod author included a fix in the description. Just make sure to read it carefully, otherwise you might miss a step (like I did) and make things worse, haha. Also, you might want to consider forcing ambient occlusion on, if you have a powerful rig.

Win 7 64Bit operating off a dedicated SSD with the games on a seperate SSD.

Not too worried about any of the ME's causing trouble.

ME1 screen shots using console command use BMP. Image files which is a pain. I had to download an application just to view them and convert them.

I'm running ME through Steam now, in which taking screenshots didn't work either, at first. Steam overlay wouldn't show up. Problem was I'm running ME as admin, so I need to run Steam as admin too.

 

Now downloading the High Res mod... lets hope I don't ruin the game

Urgh. Two memory exception errors in 20 minutes. Not so stable.

I didn't play much tonight, so I can't say much about the errors.

Strange, I never ran into any memory errors through an entire run with that mod. DLC included. Did you use the LAA enabler?

Yeah. It's not memory as in 'out of memory', bad choice of words by me, more it failing to locate assets or somehting similar. I'll take a screendump next time it happens.

I kind of feel weird seeing screenshots of this game. Like, is it for graphics? Or humor? Because it really was not pushing graphics far and I guess I mostly care about that when it comes to screenshots. Looking forward to Mass Effect Next on Frostbite 3 and hopefully a port to PS4/XB1 for the originals.
