So is it Issenya or Isseyna, I wonder? The blurb author couldn't decide.
It's actually "Isseya." That's a really early version of the blurb from before the character's name was finalized.
Also: hi guys! I actually cannot talk much about the book because of NDA issues until it releases.
But here's some stuff I CAN tell you:
-- Yes, I was a fan of Dragon Age long before anybody asked me to write for the universe. Before that I was a huge fan of Baldur's Gate (BGII is still my absolute #1 most favorite game of all time and I replay it constantly). Getting to see my name on the same cover as the Bioware logo is a pretty huge dream come true.
I can't actually play the DA games though, because I never developed the skills to handle a controller. My husband plays them for me and I watch. I get to tell him which dialogue options to pick. Also I get to heckle him if he loses too many fights, which is possibly even more fun.
-- I was not aware of the fan reaction to the Mass Effect novel prior to starting this project. I stumbled upon the Deception rage comic while I was doing editorial revisions on this book and let me tell you, that is an experience to strike terror into one's heart. Because at that point the novel's pretty much done and there's not much you can do but close your eyes and pray for mercy.
-- However, the Bioware team was very much aware of that.
-- If you want to see some of my previous tie-in work and do not wish to pay cash dollars for the experience, there are two free short stories that I wrote for the Pathfinder universe on the Paizo website.

"Misery's Mirror": http://pathfinderwik...Misery's_Mirror (that page has links to all four sections of that story)
I probably won't be checking this forum too much, because I'm supposed to be working on stuff and goofing around on the Internet totally destroys my productivity, but I'm pretty tickled to see that you all discovered this book so quickly and I hope you guys like it.
