So I've tried AIU and it works awesomely. Played a couple games, in the most recent one ended up outscoring everyone by 50%, including two guys with insane N7 ratings and challenge ratings, and the 3rd guy with twice higher stats than mine. Not to mention I was the last man standing a couple of times in that game :)

But how do you play Human Adept? Or any adept, for that matter, except for Collector? The biotics damage is very low.

Key to most of the Adepts is mixing biotic explosions (BE's) with using powers for weapon stagger/debuff.

For example for the Human Adept - place singularity into the enemies and then use shockwave to detonate for a BE.

You can use Warp as a debuff and a Warp ammo equiped weapon.

For the Asari Adept use Stasis as a primer and detonate with throw. etc.

Used this way the Adepts are very powerful. Most powerful IMHO is the Fury, where weapons become secondary to chain BE's

With the Human Adept, remember that Shockwave can pass through walls. So, one thing that you can do is throw Singularity at a group of enemies, get behind cover (soft or hard), and use Shockwave through cover when your cooldown is up.

If you choose Rank 4B and 6B for Singularity, throw Warp at an enemy inside of Singularity right after Shockwave. When Singularity detonates at 8 seconds, it was cause another biotic explosion on the Warp'ed enemy (provided it's still in the radius of Singularity).

High N7/CP and no taste whatsoever apparently, bleeding out to spectate the AIU. I got standards. I only bleed out to spectate a fury, female quarian, or geth engineer.

I used to use the GI with a Piranha III (post-nerf), which on a pug lobby automatically makes you the top scorer. Then I moved to the Asari Huntress with some light pistol (I didn't know weight wasn't an issue then).
I wasn't satisfied about stepping up to Gold unless I was the top scorer, since the fear of getting kicked was a constant. After learning the game mechanics, Gold becomes viable with just about any kit.
If I could go back in time and choose one kit just to step up to Gold, it would be the Male Quarian Engineer. Hands down. My best scorer ever was using this guy and a Locust X, both on Gold and Platinum.

The damage from biotics doesn't come from the powers themselves but the biotic explosions that they create when combined.

Hit an opponent with shockwave then warp and they take very little damage, hit them with warp then shockwave and they'll die in a hurry.

These explosions don't do a set amount of damage, they scale with difficulty instead, meaning that biotics can actually become more effective as the difficulty increases, not less.

Of course, this assumes that you can stay alive long enough to get BE's.  A lot of the adepts are a bit squishy, but they can be quite effective once you get the hang of them regardless of their weapon selection, so they might well prove worth the effort.

The KroDept is a fairly survivable adept if you can handle not having a dodge, try something like this, making sure to kill weak mooks with melee whenever possible to keep your blood-rage going.  http://kalence.drupa...15!!..J2!EF8.8O

Replace the damage barrel with an AP mod as soon as you get one, and replace the melee damage evo's with more shields if you really aren't confident with head-butting everything to death on gold.

My suggestion is the Geth Soldier (trooper), without the flamer. He has a dodge, is fast, and has fortification and good shields. Since he has no powers, you can carry the heavy weapons. Best IMHO is a strong shotty (GPSG if you have it will cover all bases, shoots fast, staggers, accurate at long range, and when charged hits very hard) plus a good sniper or AR. In game just turn on fortification and hunter mode, and leave them on. You only have your guns, so your tactics are simplified, and Hunter Mode keeps you out of ambushes. And you have no need to get up close with the enemy, so you shouldn't die too often. Then just run along with the team and keep close.

Suggestion: don't biotic charge sync kill enemies.

Think I'll give this a try.
I'm ok with the tankier characters on silver and gold, but anything above bronze with the squishies and they keep getting, well, squished

Make EXPLOOOSIONS!

Basic strategies:

Close groups - singularity+shockwave
Distant groups - singularity+warp
Bosses - warp+shockwave
Husks and other "health" enemies - singularity(+ whatever you want, I usually shoot them)
Dragoons - warp because they deserve it!

I use singularity as my main power because it's not that easy to dodge and it's aoe power that primes. But human adept is very versatile, you can mix your powers in more ways.
Dodge and use cover a lot:-)

Just play with whatever you like and feel comfortable on. You can do well with more or less anything on gold eventually, so just play with what you like, learn playing on a higher difficulty and have some fun.

Salarian Infiltrator + Claymore = easy mode. That's how I did it, before there were ANY DLC's lol

Actually, there was also the glory days of the Asari Adept vs Cerberus, when there wasn't a single Cerberus unit that was a threat against Stasis Bubble.

lolgoons ruined everything.

The human engineer was the one which drived me to gold back then, even though FEs did not used to work like they do now, the combination of CC/shield strip plus carnifex made it pretty comfortable

TL;Dr

@OP: Salarian Infiltrator 66653, or 46664 if you prefer shotties/ can't aim.

1. Soft Cover RHA
2. Energy Drain all barriers and shields, preferably as a way of breaking cloak.
3. Fire your weapon, then sidehop and reload.
4. Resume or find new soft cover for RHA and repeat.

Proxi mine health-only mooks and bosses.

Dude is seriously OP, and easier to play by far than the GI. Oh that's right, it takes no skill to play GI/ME3MP/GrillsGoneWild

I run 66606 on the human Adept, and same on the Fury.

Use the Adaptive war Amp if you have it, equip any weapon with warp ammo (I like to use the Eagle with Biotic amp).

I always feel that weapon damage is secondary on these characters so I max biotics.  BOOM everything!  :D

Hm. I've played N7 Paladin yesterday and had huge problems setting off combo explosions (don't really know why, pretty sure I was doing everything right). Human sentinel would be even harder since both his powers are biotic ones?

I don't know if someone already said this one, but for me it was the Turian Sentinel. No points on warp, keep the tech armor (specked for damage reduction) on all the time, spam overload and your best assault rifle (ideally, Lancer, if you have it) with incendiary armor. You'll do a good amount of damage and your shields are good enough to take GOLD enemies bullets without dying all the time. The only difficulty is that you can't roll, so stay away from insta-killers.

TGI \ AIU  = easy mode = can't die (remember to take the extra grenades gear).

More fun will be Krogan vanguard for epic win.

Frankly, I tried Kroguard on Silver and was pretty miserable. Gotta watch some videos on how to play him first.

I've just played 2 rounds of Gold (usually play Silver). Needless to say I failed miserably was carried, although I feel pretty confident on Silver at this point. So, which character would you consider to be the easiest (most foolproof) for novice Gold player, while allowing to contribute to the team and not just be busy staying alive?

Probably the kit you like the best. Your go-to kit when the lobby looks dodgy. For me that was TSent. Fairly tanky and plays well with others, be they tech or biotic, so I didn't have to worry about complementing the other players' kits.
