there isnt such thing as bad characters in mp. only characters that are equipment dependent like gi and aiu. it can argued that all weapon characters are equipment dependent too. use power characters if you dont have good stuff.

I'd have to say, the easiest characters to level up from silver to gold are Geth Infiltrators. Three of them, to be specific. They'll kill everything while you press the spacebar rapidly.

Meh, tried GI today and was totally unimpressed (during the short moments I wasn't lying on the ground, that is). And it was Silver! AIU all the way for me.

To fully appreciate GI's supremacy you need to have a good aim. He's definitely not a noob kit or even a place to start with infiltrators IMO. Absence of a lock on stagger tool is one reason more, but once you get your mojo running, you'll begin to understand what all the fuss is about ;)

Honestly, for all the hype the GI gets, it's really not a faceroll instant win button class.

The SI has most of the GI's power, and is a hell of a lot easier to use.

I actually do better with the SI or QFI than the GI, because I can't aim for peanuts. >.>

That's why I use the Hurricane GI.  Hip-fire at center mass and giggle as the almighty Hurricane chews through armor.

I never equip secondary on any class, for that matter. Why take more weight than you need?

If the character isn't hurt by more weight (where cooldowns don't matter), then it doesn't cost you anything to carry a secondary.  That secondary could save your life.

On these characters, it's not like you run slower carrying two guns.  So why not bring one just in case?

This was definitely true for me; when I first started, I rolled out the GI to see what all the fuss was about, and after spending most of a (probably silver, at that point) match eating dirt I promptly put that kit away and didn't touch it again for months. After having actually figured out how to (somewhat effectively) play the game, I decided to give him a try, and I saw exactly what people were talking about. But yeah, definitely not the easiest kit to succeed with at first.

One way to speed up the process would be to slap a Cylconic III (I'm assuming you haven't maxed out rares to start getting level IV equipment) on him, which puts him at around 1400 shields with Hunter Mode activated (not too shabby, in other words), and then use a high DPS weapon (Piranha, Harrier, Talon, Hurricane, Raider, etc.) Stick to soft cover, use prox mine to stagger, and tuck tail and run as soon as your shields are about to go down (since you have all of 15 health after your 1400 shields are gone), and you should be able to get a taste of his insane killing power without dying 13 times per wave.

I was too, to start, until I discovered the GI w/ GPS. Now I am a convert. He's a glass cannon, but my gosh, he's a CANNON.

You think the GPS GI is a cannon, try slapping a Raider on him (if you do, there'll be some cerberus troopers or reapers in for a really bad day)... Although being able to fire without breaking cloak is definitely pretty cool.

This 100%

I find the TGI is probably the best all round Infiltrator.  Works as CQC or sniper, noob friendly, Overload for stun/stagger and stims to get out of jail.

The GI has a massive damage output. but he's not noob friendly (and I still struggle to carry with him  :( , while I can carry very well with the TGI).

I hated the GI for a long time until I got better at the game, but I still prefer the TGI, probably because I'm lazy

Has anyone recommended the melee Kroguard yet?

He did ask for EASIEST.

You should host, and set the mission for Geth Gold Giant.

p.s. There's also the Reegar Kroguard.  Depending on who you talk to, one build is easier than the other.  But, they are both easy.

I got the TGI pretty early on, and I definitely used him as a crutch for Gold (as I also got a Harrier early on), and then pretty much didn't use him at all for a long time. Then a funny thing happened- I finally unlocked the PPR (my last UR to unlock), and somehow magically got smiled on by the RNG and got up to PPR VII in just a few weeks; the PPR got me playing the TGI again, and I actually have alot of fun with him... PPR TGI is waaaaay more fun than Harrier TGI, and is still pretty damn OP (I mean, he still has stim packs, TC, and Turian passives), and ANY TGI is the perfect noob kit.

whereas the Venom has no weaknesses, and is purely strength.

lolwut?

I love the Venom, although it has a learning curve. Speaking from a PC player perspective, it CAN be the most lag-affected POS the game has, and is seriously outclassed by the Falcon in those moments. That is a significant weakness, IMO.

I really only enjoy the Venom with the KroSol. The cheesiest.

That would be human vanguard (Charge + Nova FTW), but I think that's only going to get me into trouble on Gold. The team will hate me for charging across the map and dying there.

you've got this backwards, you should BC after Nova

My GI can have my Raider, but only when he pulls it from my cold, dead BatSol's fingers

TSent is a better guy for dat gun. He is a beast with warp/ap ammo and become ridiculously OP with incendiary ammo.
Also, 100% uptime survivability (DR and moar shields) is better than stimpacks when it comes to the Lazor use.

But it's just me, a guy who believes that old guard are the only real Turians.

+1. OG or GTFO; don't need no stinkin' Jeturians.

What do you mean? You should BC-Nova-BC-Nova and so forth ad infinitum, but you usually start with BCing into the fray.

Using guns without recoil on Turians...

This should be against some kind of law.

Oh good. I was beginning to think I was the only one for whom the Venom was a useless lump of trash with only roughly 1/3 shots actually doing anything.

It's like whatever they did to make guns like the Falcon and Scorpion stop firing blanks offhost, they forgot to apply to the Venom.

I can totally see what you mean- I hate having to interrupt the PPR (especially once its ramped up) just to munch some Stim Packs, which happens quite frequently since, like most people, I don't worry about fitness on the TGI. My main reason for using it on him so much was that when I finally unlocked the PPR I really (really, really, really) wanted to use it (since it was the last UR I unlocked) but it was relatively underpowered at lvl 1 (at least compared to my Harrier III, Saber V, etc) and the TGI can clearly make up for that with TC and stim pack dmg bonuses. Not really a problem anymore since its up to level 7 now.

In any case, I'll definitely try it on the TSent- thanks.

Haha, yes... I love lore-friendly combinations, and I'm not sure if there's any that are more badass than a Raider BatSol (unless it be a Raider Slasher!). And to be honest, I may actually prefer the old school Claymore GI over the Raider GI... not really sure why, I love both guns.

I can think of at least 2 from the top of my head:

- no piercing

- not very good against bosses

The only boss I have trouble using it against is Atlases, but to each their own.

Which is the problem, because Venom is otherwise at its best against Cerberus (Phantoms and Goons be ragin').
