You sure? I thought Sean Hannity or Mark Levin would be on the mage side.
Oh come on, that's just cruel for the mages. ![]()

Really? Have you ever actually listened to them with a strictly open mind and consider their arguments and why they make them?
I suppose the biggest difference between them and John Stewart/Colbert is that the latter two are comedians and their job is to make people laugh while the former and political commentators who aren't trying to make people laugh at all.
And just so everyone knows, I listen to all four of them.

Yes, I have tried. And they have earned no points with me. Though they are better than people like Bill O'Reilly.

Mages would represented by libertarian types... so.. it'd be Bill Maher for mages.

*shrug* Ah well.

Umm...he's not a libertarian last I checked.... Anyway, I'm going to stop discussing real life political figures now because it can so easily get this thread derailed and possible banns handed out.

You're Republican, aren't you? Not trying to start a fight, just curious. You can answer via PM if you want so we don't offtopic this further.

Not really. I hate both political parties equally. I'm independent.

Ah, okay. Well, my curiosity is sated so we should drop this now. ![]()

Right, well I'm going to pick something else up. *picks up a dragon egg* Think we should hatch it, raise it, and let dragon fire determine the victor of all in-game political disputes? That's a solution to the mage-templar conundrum right?
*Was actually thinking Cloud and Sephiroth*
No.
Although he did magically get a power boost just before their final clash didn't he.
Please... Mr. Marty Stue got ALL of the power boosts.

He's definitely a libertarian, both explicitly and implicitly. Just not one of those libertarians who argue about nothing but corporate power and Ayn Rand (Maher himself has a segment blasting them about how they've ruined Libertarianism). For years though, he's always been the libertarian voice on his shows. Especially when it comes to drug legalization.
So about that dragon egg I mentioned that is meant to change the subject and steer away from real world politics?
I have a solution. We'll hand out guns to all mages. These guns:

It's hard to get away from politics in a thread like this. Mage/Templars, Synthetics/Organics, Libertarians/Authoritarians... it's all the same thing.
Control, liberty, etc..

If we give those same guns to all the templars as well.

But discussing real world politics is liable to get banns handed out in a thread meant to be about fictional groups.

"Banns"?
You've been playing Dragon Age too much. ![]()
Fair point though, if true.

I have a better plan we raise an army of dragons and conquer everything.

I notice that some of these "solutions" just amount to killing everyone.

Meh shooting stuff is so boring. i rather be mage so i can hear the screams of templars while you set them on fire.

As the (in)famous warlock Richard once said : " when you kill everybody you never have to say sorry"
If we give those same guns to all the templars as well.

Maybe we should issue those guns to everyone...reminds me of that movie Idiocracy. Meredith and Orsino...You're dueling pistols Serahs.

Sadly enough this just might be the best solution.
Lock everyone up. Everyone. Find a way. We must save Thedas from itself.
