I was going to be upset until I saw it was small dogs that were teasing the cat.....now I'm okay with it.
Always those little handbag dogs.
Don't know if they are somehow incapable of realizing what they're doing, or if they're simply untrained and spoiled rotten by their owners, but I can confidently say that out of all the small breed dogs that I've come across, the vast majority of them are yapping annoyances that try to assert themselves as dominant wherever they go. Sometimes hilarious to watch when they are barking furiously at a dog at least six times as large as they are and said dog looking confused as in "why is that little puppy barking at me like that, does it want its diapers changed?". Almost always annoying as hell.
And there's the owners where I know for a fact are simply completely clueless about how to treat dogs. Like that one time this acquaintance came to visit and brought her Terrier with her, which instantly proceeded to go apeshit when he saw our cat, then switched his attention to our dog when aforementioned cat got onto a chair where that dog couldn't get up to (seriously, what kind of dog can't at least get up a standard chair?). We took it to the garden and left our pets in our house with some treats (for not chewing up that little runt royally!). And finally outside, that little devious patch of raggly fur started humping me. Frickin' humping me!!! The kicker came when the woman started going on about "oh, he likes you, that's so cute! What a cute, loving little dog, yes you are, yesshh you arrrrrrr". My mind literally did a double take at that and I finally snapped:
Lady, I don't know what you think you know about dogs, but he's not loving me. He's trying to dominate me. He's literally ****** with me. That is a gesture of domination. In our house, on our turf. He's saying that all of this is his stuff. I don't care how cute you think this is, but if you don't call that dog and leash it somewhere tight in the next couple seconds, I swear to god I will punt that scraggly piece of hair across the garden with a smile on my face!
She tried to call the dog, but go figure, about how many shits it gave. So, happily continuing to hump me as it were I kicked it off my leg (well, more like shook it off with a measure of enthusiasm). I didn't punt it (to my eternal regret, some things just need a punting!), but it did the job and I felt at least marginally satisfied at its yelp. Dog proceeded to get leashed to the garden table and I excused myself to keep our pets some company ... you know, decent company.
Incidentionally, that woman never ever brought her dog with her when she was visiting (which in itself was thankfully a rare occurence).

Dog with little stick:

Our own dog, Joyce (RIP), pulled something like that once. Huge branch (at least four meters long!) and simply trotting ahead of me waggling her tail happily. Big stick, big happy for doggy!
The funniest part however was how a pair of skaters crossed us and the one guy was all out mesmerized by the sight of that little dog (well, not that little, average size labrador retriever) carrying that huge branch and as he went by, turned his head and kept looking at Joyce, until he slipped with his skaters and plunged into the grass at the side of the street.
The whole situation was like straight out of a cartoon.
Haah ... memories. I feel old again ![]()

Cats love boxes.
No exceptions:
I posted both of these a while back and they are well worthy of reposting. Thank you ![]()
Big Cat Rescue's YouTube channel has some cool stuff. Who knew that some big cats like cinnamon?
I posted one last fall about tigers and catnip...
